We have a unique collection of vintage, cottage and brand new merchandise for your home and garden. We carry antiques, painted shabby chic furniture at very reasonable prices, handmade accessories, vintage linens and glassware. We also have antique items including some wonderful primitive pieces and unique handmade jewelry .We are located in the antique district of Ocean Beach on Newport Ave. Our hours are: Monday through Saturday 10:30 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm to 5: pm. Be sure to visit our new beach cottage on the patio which is currently filled with beach signs, shells, baskets, furniture and all things nautical. We have recently been honored by being voted second best antique store in Ocean Beach and also won the «Best Decorated Store» for the holidays.

History

Established in 2005.

The Corner Store began in 1997 in La Jolla on the corner of Girard and Pearl. We were there for 15 years. When the La Jolla store closed in 2008, Dee Cook and Jann Tucker opened a new Corner Store in El Cajon on the corner of Main and Magnolia. The El Cajon store closed it’s doors in May of 2011. In February of 2012, the new store opened in Ocean Beach in the antique district on Newport Ave. Now Dee Cook and Jeanie Gertmenian have pooled their efforts to make this new store the best Corner Store of all! We were formerly named Southern Accents at this same location so don’t be confused, we just changed names. Although Jean Brannman is no longer a partner, expect the same great service and merchandise.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dee has been owner of 3 Corner Stores within the last 25 years. The first being in La Jolla on the corner of Girard and Pearl, the second in El Cajon on the corner of Main and Magnolia, and the third in Ocean Beach, but it is not on a corner. It is, however, on the main drag of Ocean Beach’s Antique District on Newport Ave. We carry the same inventory that we carried in the other stores or maybe even better. We hope our loyal customers will find time to come down to visit us and make a day of antique shopping at the other antique stores and have lunch. It really is a destination for antique lovers as well as shabby chic and vintage collectors.
