Yarns By Design is a fiber arts boutique located in Oakmont, PA only minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. We provide fine quality yarns, patterns, supplies and instruction to fiber artisans of all skill levels.

History

Established in 2006.

LYS owned and managed by a mother-​daughter team whom relocated to Allegheny River Blvd in Oakmont, PA in May of 2012.

Yarns By Design was established with the vision of becoming a haven of inspiration while providing a calming and relaxing environment.

The products at Yarns By Design are selectively chosen and exquisitely

presented to have the ultimate fiber arts experience.

Meet the Business Owner

Sandra D.

Business Owner

SANDRA has been knitting, crocheting and sewing since she was a young child. A native to the Pittsburgh region and owner of two dance studios for the past forty years, Sandra was keen to begin a new adventure in her life.

She always dreamed of owning a yarn boutique. Fortunately, this dream was spurred by an injury to her knee from dance. With the help and partnership of Tamara, daughter, the adventure began. Sandra likes to keep busy by teaching dance, working at the boutique, spending time with her family & grandkids and walking her dog.
