Yoppi Yogurt

I knew they wouldn’t sustain. Never busy. Oh well… I tried my best.

I needed a sugary drink to get me through the rest of the afternoon and got a pineapple slushy. It was so sweet and tasted like syrup. I couldn’t even finish the whole thing! I’ll stick to the yogurt/​ice cream next time.

The lady served me a ‘mini’ or subpar Cookies n Crème ‘gelato’ in one of those hot dog sauce containers.
I thought she would use a cup similar to the mini display, but no…
It was significantly smaller than the display cup.
And cookies n Crème? There were no cookies in that black and white lie.
Not ethical.
I’m going on a no-​ice cream diet, just to show them.

I love this place. It’s clean & the milk teas are good. I’ve tried the mango and watermelon… Mango is my favorite one. I do want to try the rest of the flavors though. Let’s see, the yogurts are fresh too. I can’t really think of anything wrong with this particular Yoppi Spot ! :)

Went in for the first time today and had watermelon milk tea with boba. Most of the boba seemed too soft, and there’s a chalky residue in the cup and in my mouth… even from smelling the beverage (it smells like a watermelon jolly rancher) you can tell it’s artificial flavor. Also I was surprised (and alarmed) that the iced beverage took a while to get cool. As I understand it boba needs to be cooked and saturated in warm water, but one would think (cold) milk and (cold) tea and (cold) ice wouldn’t be warmed so much by the boba (which worries me about the above actually starting as cold…) — also, not cheap as boba goes, espeically this close to china town
This all said, I might come back for the fro-​yo. 6 flavors and so very many toppings…

I had a papaya pearl tea and it was so bad that I couldnt even finish it. The pearls were too chewy and the drink was too sugary made fully with artificial powders. Never going back to this place.

Let me start off by saying how great this place is for kicking the heck out of a sweet tooth.
Great high energy music playing in the back ground welcomed the progression of my well needed sugar rush.
I got my usual, half of my cup filled with fat free chocolate yogurt with Oreo cookie crumbles with strawberries slices. In the other half of my cup was the Yoppi tart flavored yogurt with kiwi slices.
The yogurt is great tasting but it’s a little on the runny side. The ingredients are fresh, at no more than two Days old… good quality.
I told one of the employees that they should cut the fruit in smaller pieces because I didn’t want to have to chop my own fruit with a spoon so I can eat it comfortably. Diva right!
Not many choices but they had just what I needed! I stepped into a great atmosphere, I left out with my sweet tooth DESTROYED!

I ordered the mango pearl tea without milk and it was pretty gross. The black tea part was good but the mango flavoring powder got chalky and weird. Also the service wasn’t very well.

Oh my goodness the Coffee Gelato. HEAVEN. In a teeny, tiny, little cup. :)

This place is pretty run of the mill, but I’m a patron just because it’s the only froyo place in the area. I wish the hours were longer and extended to weekend, but since it’s in the City Center (catering to DT Oak workers) I know my sugar-​philin’ booty won’t be gettin’ that wish.
Pretty standard self-​serve spot: $ 0.45/ oz, fruit and candy-​like toppings, 1 or 2 tart flavors, along w/​the usual suspects (choco, cake batter, vanilla, etc.), clean space with plenty of seating, and cashiers who have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS (–1 star). I mean, your job is pretty sweet – you sit behind the counter and weigh things for money. Why can’t you smile, people?!?
Froyo pet peeve alert: you have to ask for sample cups! Ugh… I don’t know why this rubs me the wrong way.

Young girls that work here are just hanging out like nobody’s business. That’s not very good customer service. They should be more friendly. Just saying. Plus, this place charges by weight, which can get expensive. Also, I gave it 3 stars & not 1, ’cause they have good variety of toppings for your ice cream/​yogurt & I love most flavors of the yogurt they serve.

Great location, a great spot to grab a quick cold snack. The place is spacious, clean and a great hang out spot. They have a good selection of flavors and they taste great. The service was nice and friendly as well. Looking forward to my next trip to Yoppi.

This place clearly needs a manager! I’ve been here about three times and while the place is spotlessly clean, there has been at least one yogurt flavor that is runny and the ice cream and gelato looks really old. The last time I went, I ordered one scoop of ice cream. The clerk gave me a tiny scoop that was about half of the very small cups, and actually charged me $ 3.50 with a straight face. My husband and I thought we were on candid camera!
I won’t be back. Methinks not!

This has been the longest week ever and I seriously needed a break from the office. My girlfriend works nearby so we decided to stop in City Center to get some yogurt and sit a spell.
They’ve got a big sitting area but somehow only featured 6 flavors, none of them being that appetizing. As it turns out only 2 of the pumps worked anyway, so I was left with red velvet and some other crap that tasted terrible. Both were soft and gross, and the toppings bar was mostly empty too. The gelato was more or less totally tapped as well making that a non-​option as well. At 45 cents an ounce, it was also expensive, particularly in this area. What a joke!
With a 4-​star rating, I expected a whole lot more than this crap. Service was god-​awful, and the girl behind the counter couldn’t answer a basic question about whether the «Yoppi tart» was a basic tart, not that it worked anyway. Seriously, whoever gave this place even remotely decent marks lacks taste buds or simply has lowered their expectations of what good froyo is. Damn, what a disappointment. The only upside was that there was plenty of pet-​friendly indoor and outdoor seating but that’s only because it was such a crappy place to begin with.

You can find Yoppi nestled between Panda Express and Max’s, and the self-​serve yogurt stations are to the left upon entering. You can find toppings of all kinds at the front near the cashiers, and to the left of those is a glass display of delectable ice cream and gelato flavors that the staff will be happy to scoop up for you!
Seating is limited to four square tables with two chairs a piece, and two round tables by the windows with the same number of chairs each. However, seating tends to be available since most customers take their frozen treats to go.
The thing I love about Yoppi Yogurt in general (as opposed to Yogurtland or any other froyo place) is that the texture of the frozen yogurts are to-​die-​for! The froyo that you find at Yoppi tastes rich with a texture that resembles soft serve ice cream. SO good! I’ve gone to other establishments where the froyo is all clumpy and more ice than anything, but never at Yoppi. My favorite flavors are the Salted Caramel, Blueberry, and Dark Chocolate. Yes, the froyo is slightly more expensive than other froyo places, but I think that you’re really paying for quality here.
Staff is friendly, the music they play is great, and it’s an overall relaxing place to enjoy a low-​fat treat!

I walked and perused the selection. On the wall to the left is a bank of self serve yogurt machines in a variety of flavors. In a case in front is a wide selection of gelato and next to that is a self serve topping bar. I examined everything trying to decide what I wanted and hoping that they had a sugar free selection of some sort. After not seeing what I wanted I asked the girl behind the counter if anything they had was sugar free. She had no idea. A nice gentleman said that, unfortunately, no they don’t have sugar free at this location yet. They are planning on it though.
So … three stars until I see some sugar free selections. It would be nice if they had a fruit and a vanilla sugar free yogurt. Just one flavor would be fine. :-)

Yay! Very happy they are finally open. Super convenient location! I believe I saw eight yogurt flavors, a bunch of toppings (not a ton of fresh fruit, only two types — more variety would have made it a five!), and a bunch of gelato and ice cream flavors as well. I got the tart and the chocolate yogurt flavors, both of which are very nice! Very friendly staff, and fairly cheap… gotta love per-​ounce pricing, can get as little or as much as you’d like!
My only complaint is probably that they (and everyone else in downtown Oakland) are not open on weekends! Though I should note that I stopped by today (Wednesday) around 6:30 and the door was still open — apparently they’ve been staying open a little later than 5:30 because a lot of people stop by after work. I wouldn’t hold them to that, but it’s cool to know that they’re taking advantage of the post-​work foot traffic on the way to the BART.

I’m so happy that this place finally opened because now I can get my froyo fix! I came here yesterday and I ended up getting gelato. I got the peanut butter chocolate cup and it was pretty good. They didn’t seem to have that many flavors for the frozen yogurt, but they have a good selection of toppings and the price is pretty good. I think it’s about $.48/​oz. Next time I will definitely get myself some yogurt!
