The owners are very knowledgeable, they know what they are talking about, recommends good quality affordable products, they even sell laminated wood floor, kitchen cabinets, granites and quartz stone, shower doors, etc. it’s pretty much a mini jack of all trades hardware store, I highly recommend it.

I wanted a hard to find fluorescent light bulb. No one had them. Wyse ordered them for me.
I read complaints but do not understand why. My business was fast, polite, respectful,…
While I didn’t take the time to walk around the store, at a glance it apepared that they have a great selection.
To me the only negative is that they are in Oakland. I try to avoid troublesome & dangerous Oakland.

This weekend I needed parts for a vintage lamp I had just bought. I walked in carrying the lamp and no sooner had I said «I’m looking for the globe that goes with this» than the guy working there replied «We can’t help you.»
I was surprised to be dismissed so quickly so I made the motion of looking around like I wanted to see some options. I gently pressed and he again stated «We can’t help you.» Then he told me to go to Bed Bath & Beyond.
1. I was there because I wanted to support a local business. I could have easily tried Lamps Plus first
2. Before you summarily dismiss a customer, maybe show her the globes you DO have and explain why they would or wouldn’t work for her particular lamp
3. This is a 60-​year-​old lamp… I doubt Bed Bath and Beyond would have what I need
So I went to Ensler Lighting in Berkeley and spent my $$ there instead. At first the guy at Ensler also wasn’t certain he had what I needed, but guess what? He took the time to look around and experiment and ultimately he was able to jury-​rig something that worked great. Imagine that?

Awful experience and the people in there were not knowledgeable.
The pushy salesperson tried to sell products by giving incorrect information regarding Title 24 Energy requirements until I could not hear anymore and stopped him. I called him out on his errors. I am a licensed architect and have a lighting designer in our office. We work with Title 24 requirements on a regularly basis so I thought it was really irresponsible of them to do this since homeowners and others not in the industry may take their information as fact.
The prices were also bad. I have bought lights from other places which were way less. I only went there because I needed a few lights and thought to stop in since I was buying something next door at the plumbing store.

Good place to get ideas for new light fixtures. Bad place if you any kind of service. I also would not want to gamble with the warranty on anything sold here.

you can kill time here redesigning your cyclops into an omnipetent light source. there’s everything from traditional lamps to the new ld’s.
