Specialties

We are a non-​profit that offers a full range of free services to women with cancer and their loved ones. Many services are also available to men with cancer and male family members.

We offer support groups, a helpline, information, psychotherapy for low-​income women, in-​home assistance for low-​income women, and emergency fund, wellness workshops from cooking to yoga, a library, an art gallery and much more.

We offer services in Spanish for Alameda and Contra Costa counties. We also have a Sister to Sister program for African American women with cancer.

History

Established in 1986.

WCRC was started by Jackie Winnow and a group of women with cancer who were dismayed at the lack of services available to women with cancer. They created WCRC to fill the huge gap in services and to create community for women dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
