Webb’s Pest Control

Feeling better after I just filed a complaint with BBB. These guys are beyond a scam. They are dangerous and should be shut down immediately.
Webbs Pest Control is using improper extermination techniques by not advising customers on proper preparations for the extermination treatment of bed bugs. In our building in Berkeley they have sprayed 3 apts that I know of without any advisement of preparation, health concerns, and no advisement on post-​extermination procedures. Rather they sprayed all over the infected rooms with bedding still in place and all personal things exposed to these toxic poisons. I doubt they are licensed. Please avoid these people and choose a truly licensed and professional pest control service.

Webb’s referred me to their in-​house termite specialist Pierre, and I couldn’t have been happier. I’m in the process of a home renovation and brought in at least 8 different termite pest control specialists in the past year. Before I started construction and demo, the termite specialists always spent 0 – 10 minutes walking around the property and asking for previous inspection history. In every case, I got a proposal for tenting and soil treatments that exceeded $ 2000 when the house was still standing. Thus, I decided to proceed with demolition with the hopes that estimates will drop significantly when 80% of home was torn down and crawlspace exposed and walls open. Funny enough, the estimates remained almost the same with some recommendations to tent my remaining home (garage and living room wall). Needless to say, I didn’t trust anyone I worked with in past so I decided to give Webb’s a call even though they didn’t have the 20+ 4 – 5 star ratings that others have. Pierre came over same day to do a free estimate and beat the competition by a mile. He even explained the entire termite remediation process and added the right amount of Precise 75 termicide into his water tanks. During the service, Pierre was friendly, respectful and meticulous in covering the perimeter inside and outside foundation trenches, as well as crawling under remaining crawlspaces to cover the entire floor space. Backed by a warranty, I look forward to working with Pierre in future and will recommend everyone else as well. Bonus points for being part of a smaller business, unlike the corporate service reps of larger companies that do not give personal service.

Wanted to go local… but this one was a mistake. I told him where we’d heard rodents, but he did no exclusion work, just left poison. When it wasn’t eaten but the noise persisted, both my tenants and I called him multiple times, but no response. So much for the promised 30-​day guarantee. He took my money and I got nothing in return except wasted time. I don’t think he even knows how rodents behave.

Jim is GREAT — here’s a rarity in these times. We called him out for an estimate and he was totally honest with us as to what he could do and couldn’t. We are actually going to need another type of service (we need some holes in the house screened off or repaired) so we are going with someone else, but he will be the first person we will call in the future. It’s refreshing to find such honesty, many companies would just have us pay them to fix the short term problem knowing the long term issue would be back. I appreciate that. My wife was the one who met with him and said he was great, nice, and easy to get along with. I normally wouldn’t review someone who’s services we didn’t actually use, so look to others for comments on his service, but based on his integrity I feel very comfortable giving him 5 stars. He drove all the way out to our house to give us an honest opinion and asked for nothing in return — that’s the type of person I will do business with again (though I honestly don’t want to deal with any more critters :))

We called Webb’s Pest Control this week in desperation to take care of an «issue» in a tenant’s apartment.
Not only was the price very reasonable, but they were able to come THAT day (thank god) – they took care of everything in its completion and very professionally, life savers!
