My first review… And it’s a gas station, but I feel like good customer service should not go unnoticed. The gas mart didn’t carry a certain brand item and the man genuinely wanted to help. He called in and made the order so the next time I come in, they will carry that brand. I appreciate how he cared about it and wanted to help. Will def come back Thanks again!

This place is highway robbery. State sanctioned mafia minions who in the name of supposedly saving you from a «the vapors» will find absolutely **anything** they can wrong with your vehicle, any excuse to fail you and attempt to charge you ridiculous prices for repairs that have nothing to do with weather your car runs or not, i.e. what you voted for because you’re making too much money right?
Customer experience = terrible awful and they’re incompetent technically on top of being outright government approved crooks.
Send a message: vote against incumbents, and vote no — save what’s left of your wallet and country.

If you feel like taking a trip to hell, stop by this VALERO gas station and auto shop. Never in my life have I had customer service this bad. They have over charged me numerous times for small quick car fixes. If there was a worst gas station on earth award it would go to them. Just trying to save other people from my mistakes. I hope this helps. This Valero SUCKS.

Honest and reliable, that’s all I have to say in a nutshell. I’ve been to Valero A&P Service Center several times and I’ve never been disappointed.

Started taking my Toyota Corolla here in the 1990s. The Corolla is now 20 years old and still runs beautifully thanks to these guys. They have replaced the radiator, done oil changes and tune-​ups, brake work, replaced tires, taken care of burned out bulbs. You name it, they’ve done it, fast and at a fair price. I know bleep-​all about cars (I can’t even get air into the tires), and they will patiently explain anything. I recommend A & P to everyone I know.

An OK gas station to use in the daytime in Oakland, CA. Tried to use the restroom once, and kids were in there doing drugs. Clerk said «Welcome to Oakland» when I told him. Located at West MacArthur x Webster, near Pill Hill… Kaiser Hospital & Summit Medical.

Went here after have horrible service and customer service at Honda of Oakland. Arthur was a huge help and got me in and out and my car fixed at a fraction of what I was quoted at Honda. What this place lacks in curb appeal, they more than make up for in everything else, i.e. everything you care about when it comes to your car.

Great guys, reliable and fair. Been going there for many years.

Its me again with my resent review regarding my experience at Valero’s A&P Auto Center. All I can say the are reasonable and do a fantastic job. They stayed in communication with me always keeping me up to date as to the status of my vehicle.

Went here for the first time on a recommendation from my father in law (he has been going here since the beginning of time). My wife’s car was immobile due to a bad battery and alternator. Prices were compareable if not cheaper to others I have used. The personal service is what made it a great experience, Jovic is great! I think I have found my new goto shop.

Someone I know vouched for this place about five years ago when I first moved to Oakland. I have been coming here ever since. Their main mechanic has always done a solid job repairing and maintaining my Honda. They’ve kept me informed of peripheral work that needs doing that I might have overlooked.
Taking my car in during the week has always been tough given my full work schedule, so Saturdays have typically been the best chance to drop off. They have always turned it around same day with prompt, polite, and informative service.
I will continue to come here until I eventually move away from Oakland.

I have been coming to this station for over 15 years for their honest, fair and dependable service whether it’s a major repair or replacing a bulb. Arthur and his employees are extremely pleasant, honest to work with — you have a honest mechanic shop without the worries of not getting your money’s worth. I live in San Leandro and take my car here just because of the honesty and dependability — I would strongly recommend this station if you’re new in the area and need car service.

All of the previous reviews are true! These guys are great — honest, friendly, fair and efficient! We went in for an oil change and smog check test. We were attended to quickly, quoted a fair and accurate price, and our car was ready in less than an hour. We’re definitely going back!

This place has been here forever! They have great prices and gets the job done. My car is almost at 200,000 miles and only this station has ever worked on my car. Besides the normal oil change and services, I have never had a problem with my car. I am sure that my car will last forever.
I also agree with previous reviews that they are a honest shop. I’m all about helping local businesses.

I love this Valero! Gas almost as cheap as the ghetto ARCO on 51^st, but no service fee for using your ATM card!
Clean, great location and affordable.

AAA first sent me there about 12 years ago (said «We’re not supposed to make recommendations, but…). I always take my older cars there (the new BMW unfortunately has to go to Weatherford), I love these guys. Honest, fast, cheap. Arthur is the owner, Jovi is one of head mechanics. I had Betts tow me to A&P once and the driver confirmed that A&P is known as a good localrepair shop.

have to agree with the prior reviews. i live a couple of blocks from this place and have been going here for gas/​service for 3 years. I tried them intially for the convenience, but since then, I have been so happy with them that I no longer go to my prior repair shop.
they are able to work on my AMG without problems. I have 2 other higher maitence vehicles, which Jovic honestly reffered me to another shop who would have more experience.
I always test how honest a shop is, when I ask or determine what they charge for a particular part. It will check out the pricing on-​line and see how close they are. A&P have always been very close to what I would be charged if I had shopped on-​line.
I would say, if you have car issues you can be confident that A&P won’t shaft you like other places.

Arthur and Joby get the job done without any run around. They constantly battle with all the rif-​raf but are good natured and there prices are ¹⁄₃ cheaper than others in the area.
No Jiffy Lube, live and buy local.

Joby, the owner of the place, is awesome. Everyone in my old neighborhood used to go here, and I STILL drive across the bridge when my car has a problem. He and his staff are the best. He’ll diagnose for you and then he’ll actually talk you through repair options, and THEN credit your diagnostic fees towards whatever repairs you want. If you need a solid mechanic, they’re a small local joint that rocks.
