So I had my first foray into the world of renting heavy-duty industrial equipment, and it’s left me feeling rather mixed, shall I say. I’ll start off with the positive aspects of this place: they have a great safety record, 0 accidents year after year, and they know their stuff well, and take good care of the equipment they have on hand. Whatever rental you ask for, it’s sure to be well maintained and fit for use. However positive that may be though, it also comes with a downside. To ensure that their equipment is running smoothly, they have a rather draconian policy regarding their rentals, and there is little emphasis on customer service in an environment that largely consists of male technicians attending to their machines. It took me a while for me to get some sort of service, but I got what I needed eventually. Speed and courtesy are not their core virtues, but perhaps reliability and integrity. I’m still a bit bewildered by their process, which seems inefficient and lethargic, and that’s the area which needs more work. Bottom line: great equipment, so-so service.
