History
Established in 2010.
Built in 1925, 317 Washington was originally home to the American Broom Factory. This two story masonry building is three blocks from the waterfront in Jack London Square.
Formerly the Overland House, 101 Broadway is home to The Port Workspaces’ second location. The building was constructed in 1909 and has provided safe harbor to many sailors in its many lives.
The Port most recently opened its third location in the historic Kaiser Center building. This location offers premium Lake Merritt views in a professional (and fun!) setting.
Our fourth location, opening 2015, will be in the Kaiser Mall, adjacent to the Kaiser building.
The Port is a supportive community of entrepreneurs, artists, chefs, makers and professionals sharing four historic Oakland buildings. Our members are free to use all Port locations. Proudly Oakland-born, The Port reinvents beautiful old spaces to bring new flexibility, resources and community to today’s pioneers.
