The Port Workspaces

I’ve now tried at least 4 coworking spots in the Bay Area and the Port is my favorite. Jenny and her team are great and very responsive in getting you welcomed and set up. This review is for both the Port Broadway and 317 Washington (they’re only 3 blocks apart)
The location is very clean, professional, and nice. The on-​site indoor bike parking is wonderful. People are friendly and respectful. There are handy places to take phone calls.
317 is more office-​like and Broadway is more open and relaxed. I like them both (depending on what I want that day).
Overall a great place to co-​work!

Working at the Port by Lake Merritt (the old Kaiser Building) was awesome. Spacious, well designed, fun (when I wanted it to be) — and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. Free coffee and beer on tap… I recommend it.

This is the best coworking community I have experienced in the Bay Area, primarily because it actually feels like a community and not a scene. They have tons of free/​affordable events and it’s very easy to strike up a conversation with fellow coworkers. The prices are also way more reasonable than any of the coworking spaces in the East Bay, and they have FOUR locations in the East Bay. Totally love The Port.

Fantastic staff that make this co-​working space feel like you’re part of a family! The new printers are top notch. The free local beer and coffee on tap are not too shabby either!

What a great business idea, I love this place. I currently have my business office set up here and for a while I have been looking for something just like this, a flexible office space where you can choose how much to spend depending on your needs.
As a catering company I need a space where I can be in a professional atmosphere so I can do all my daily activities outside the kitchen: interacting with customers, sending proposals and so on. The place is well thought all around: amazing location in the heart of Jack London Square, beautifully designed with a modern touch it has all the amenities of a professional office: fast internet, printers, conference rooms, private phone booths, full kitchen and so on. The latest innovation is a coffee by the cup station where you can make your own gourmet coffee, just like Blue Bottle does.
The rates are very affordable and depending on your needs you can get a co working space using the common areas or get your own office.
Besides everybody there is so nice, starting from Michael, the owner, the employees and the office mates, it’s an amazing community.
Highly recommend The Port.

Excellent co-​working and office spaces. The owners of the two buildings are working hard to restore vacant buildings in the Jack London/​Downtown Oakland Area. They’re very involved in the day to day operation of their business and have their own offices in either building. So, they are accessible! The staff are knowledgeable and extremely relatable/​friendly. 101 recently was launched and tenants of both 317 and 101 get the pleasure of tasting a home cooked Italian lunch once a month for FREE! The lunch event is put together by the staff and is cooked by one of the owners. Delicious! Hopefully within the next few months there will be a slide installed in the 101 building. Yes, I said slide. Know of any other office spaces in the area besides Google that has one? I bet not. Awesome vibe. Great location. Down to earth people.

I’ve been to a lot of executive suites, business centers and coworking spaces. The Port Workspaces is one of my favorite! Why? People, location and vibe.
I’m not a member here, I book as needed on LiquidSpace for meeting rooms by the hour or coworking by the day (great value) through LiquidSpace.
People; the staff at The Port are fantastic and very responsive. I’ve come here just to get out of my home office or to host a meeting with colleagues and clients.
Location; close to Old Town Oakland, Jack London Square, and public transportation like the SF Bay Ferry and of course BART. I also drive and park in the convenient parking garage nearby. Oh ya, great food, coffee and drinks nearby on Jack London waterfront!
Vibe; low-​key just like Oakland, The Port is well decorated by Mood & Space design (one of their tenants), has a monthly art rotation courtesy of their connection to Oakland’s Art Murmur, comfortable meeting rooms and workspace… and nice people here.
Need another reason, they’re opening up another space at 101 Broadway with views of the Jack London waterfront!

this place is not open yet. they are still working on it. i went to an event there last week to promote it. all guests input was welcome, and the owners are all really great. hold tight. the opening party is friday night. check it out again when it is open.

This place seems to exist as I stopped by and saw a sign. But the main door is locked and the reception desk is empty. Called several times now, but no response or call back.
I’m very confused if this place really exists or not. What a bummer.
