History

Established in 2011.

Tart! Bakery is a small artisan bakery based in Oakland, CA. What began as an idea while attending the California Culinary Academy (Le Cordon Bleu San Francisco) has grown by leaps and bounds. We produce a range of delicious baked goods from pies and tarts to scones, cookies and desserts. I am very proud that we create fresh, locally baked goods that customers enjoy sharing with their families, friends, and neighbors. Baking out of a shared commercial kitchen, I bake for a few local cafes, sell at pop-​up markets and have begun to work with a local caterer and a local event planner.

From a very early age, I was interested in food – especially desserts. Encouraged by my parents and grandparents and inspired by the cooking shows I saw on PBS, my curiosity and creativity led me into the kitchen. Before settling into this baking obsession of mine, I had a couple of other careers, but baking was never too far from my mind. Then one day I was given «the gift of time» (read as downsized) and I decided that now was the time to pursue a long held passion. I entered the California Culinary Academy (CCA), gaining my degree in Baking and Patisserie and have never looked back. Now, With TART! Bakery I am enjoying having an impact in people’s lives through my food. For me the big charge is not when the dessert is finished, but when it is tasted and people are enjoying it and you can see it on their faces. That is the payoff. That is the best experience ever.
