I used to go here on occasion for lunch since I work around the corner. Today, I just wanted to purchase a side of rice and they refused to sell me the rice without ordering some other food. Well, sometimes rice is all a person can afford. I could have ordered other food, but it’s the principle. This is a mixed neighborhood with people who have and people who have not. If all a person can afford is a side of rice then give them the dignity of selling it to them with graciousness. Please note that I will not longer support your business or refer it to others.

What can I say about this place… Its somewhat like a fast food joint in a way, where you order up front, pay up front, give you a placard number and have a seat, and they bring the food to you. This place was alot more busier than Davan down the street. Price is reasonable, portion was enough for one person. Environment is very cozy and nice. Lets talk about food. Bf ordered garlic beef, I ordered pad thai & bf’s sister ordered chicken curry. Garlic beef: big portions, lots of meat & yet flavorful, fresh veggies, lot of rice. This platter was pretty decent. Pad Thai: It wasn’t what I expected(negatively), Each chef from different province have their own style of how they make their pad thai. This style wasn’t for me. I ordered it because I was craving for pad thai & alot of recommendation from Unilocal. The flavor was different in a way where it was a bit more wet & flavorful, spicy(indicate how spicy you want), seafood was fresh. they had mushroom in their pad thai which I thought was odd, since I never had mushroom in my pad thai… let’s just say this platter wasn’t for me… but someone else might like it. Chicken Curry: the aroma smelled so good, I can taste the coconut milk & the hint of curry ingredient in it, it wasn’t too overwhelming, but yet flavorful. they use chicken breast which was fresh, alot of fresh veggies. One thing she didn’t like about this is that it was drench over rice… so by the time we got to our office(we ordered togo) the rice has soaked up a big portion of the sauce. She wished they would seperate the curry and rice. Overall, we would come here again for a quick lunch(once in a while, its not all that great for thai food)… totally have alot of variety on their menu, but sadly I didn’t see any fried rice menu on there(kind of weird… but oh well). Also, CASHONLY!

Just had a really disgusting lunch here. The veggie curry came drenched all over the rice, with bland sauce and overcooked, flavorless vegetables. Now it’s wreaking havoc with my innards as it burns its way through me. Steer clear.

Came here during lunch time on a weekday with my mom. CASHONLY. Order and pay at the register, then sit down and your food is brought to you(Unless of course you order to-go). Our food came out in less than ten minutes. I ordered the chicken pad thai and it was huge! Very generous portions! It was okay compared to other Thai spots, but for how cheap it is, I’d definitely come back!

I was in town for work and asked my client if he wanted to go to a local spot for lunch. He suggested here. It was a short walk from the office on a beautiful day in NorCal. It’s hole in the wall, the line was out the door and it was packed inside. The food was great, I asked them to make mine hot and they had no problem doing just that. The proportions were generous. The neighborhood around here is ok, no problem during the day for sure. Overall it was a great experince. Although not there fault some couple sitting next to us was talking about how there friends are going to hell because they refuse to eat the body of christ? They were very large and looked like they needed to partake in the body of christ a little less. Ease up psycho christians.

Cash only. Food: I don’t remember the name of the dish I had but it’s on the back of their menu under Chef Specialties. I’ve never had this before but it sorta tastes like an egg roll. It’s chicken, shrimp, and imitation crab with mushroom wrapped and deep fried. It was tasty and different. It comes with white rice, a side salad, slices of oranges, and dipping sauce. The plate was huge, I couldn’t finish it. 4⁄5 Service: Pretty much non-existent. I ordered and paid at the front register. The employees were not rude but they weren’t friendly either. 3⁄5 Final Thoughts: Good food but a little overpriced.

Excellent food. The customer service is consistantly awesome. The foods is very fresh and flavorful. This is the first thai resturant I have tried, so I assumed all thai food was good and ventured out to other resturants. I have been highly disappointed with other thai resturants they just don’t hold up to this place. I recommend the seafood pad thai. soo good!

i haven’t been hear in years but this place is popular with people from work and its always busy! Maybe i order the wrong things but the Drunken Noodles seem to be popular along with their basil chicken… neither item i was wowed about… tasty but not something id crave again. Not sure what it is… the basil chicken was more of a dry fry so there wasn’t any sauce but they were generous with the basil. The drunken noodles had lots of fresh bean sprouts topped with rice noodles, mushrooms, basil which i smothered with condiments and Sriacha… something was missing for me. I’ll try again as this place is reasonably priced with nice portions and an array of items on their menu.

I have been going to this restaurant for the last 5 years. I am fussy about food and do not buy it if it is not good. Take It Easy Thai is a favorite among my work colleagues, family, and friends. I have never had a bad meal in my many, many visits, Seating can sometimes be a challenge, but the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant,

Close to the office, very fast service. Ordered duck curry, only skin with tiny attached meat… it should have been named«duck fat curry…

My original review was back in 2013 and I just want to say that all my positive comments are still true. I always enjoy going to Take IT Easy. The food is excellent, the prices are crazy cheap and the nice people who run it are always super friendly. These are simple folks making really decent home-style food that’s good for you too. If you want to have a «dining experience» go somewhere else. If you want good nourishment for your body served up by good people, come here.

Cash only place with sub-average food. Quality of meat was so-so. Tap water tastes like algae.

Bring CASH! Food: I got the Tofu Jungle Curry with brown rice. It’s not saucy. It’s dry and spicy! Yummy flavor! Green beans were fresh and the rice was good! Now the tofu, I’ve had better. It was too spongy. Not smooth like others I’ve had. Customer Service: The cashier(maybe owner) was very sweet and I got my food real fast! Oh yeah, DON’T FORGETCASH! :)

Their basil lamb with coconut rice is everything! I like mine medium spicy which is still on the spicier side . I have only ordered this dish here and it is the best truly. Always consistent in flavor ! Restaurant is very busy during lunch and a cash only spot but does have an atm inside.

The first time I went I thought it was a 2 star, but Take It Easy has earned its way into my Thai restaurant lunch rotation because of two key words: Jungle Curry. I f — ing love their jungle curry. It’s cheap, fast, reasonably healthy and a good sized portion. They can also make it crazy hot. The downsides: cash only, blearg. The owner is not very personable. Not grumpy, but he’s not going to come from behind the counter and hug you either.

Not a place for customers to take IT easy! Went there for the first time asking for a table for two. Cashier(owner?) in a not so friendly way says we have to order and pay at register before we can grab a seat. He kinda ignores customers until they flash some cash. I guess regulars know the drill. Menu looked good with things like noodle soup so I was excited to try it. Everything ordered and service is a disappointment! The food was a mess. Cheap odd cuts of meats are used. Thai iced tea is watered down and gross. There is no quality control here. Food comes out quickly cooked in haste and not necessarily cooked to order. Spend a few bucks more and go elsewhere.

Used to come here with coworkers 15 years ago from Alameda. Came back for the first time. Ordered beef choo chee extra spicy and it was delicious. Very spicy but the coconut milk helps. Still the same owner and workers.

Whoa whoa whoa… take IT easy guys. Why does the name capitalize«IT»? Does«IT» stand for something? Are they emphasizing«it»? What is it? This place is not good, in my opinion. There are much better options. I’ve eaten here many times over the years and I always regret it. Some points: They use crappy cheap products(should just be called«Sysco Thai») Meats taste defrosted and are odd cheap cuts. They only take cash The food tastes like it is made with little care or passion and lacks rich flavor. It is cheap, but you get what you pay for. There is much much better food close by. Be nicer to yourself Need I say more?
