I was reluctant to stop here because I was only looking for a towel ring but Mike was both interested and helpful in finding just the right one (I was trying to avoid the same-​o Home Depot type stuff). This is a local family owned business and they could not be more customer service oriented. No project too small. I felt like I had stumbled into a business of days’ past and I am always happy to take the opportunity to let my neighbors know about quality product and extraordinary service.

I tried to work with this store. I visited the store and received a proposal via email. the initial proposal took about 14 days. I called the store to make some changes. I wanted to finalize the order and get it placed. I received an email response the following week asking for more time. After that I never heard back. I kept waiting thinking they were just busy. Eventually gave up and started over with a new store. I HATE wasting time.

My wife found Style Kitchen and Bath to design our bathroom remodel and handle ordering all the materials. Gretchen did a wonderful job measuring our space and coming up with a design to suit our tastes. She worked with us on picking tile and fixtures. Even after we ordered everything her and Mike were wonderful to deal with and did a good job keeping track of all the orders. They have been very supportive anytime any sort of issue has come up long after our project was completed. The only comment I have is that Gretchen does her designs on paper and there may be a little lead time required for changes, but there was nothing that causes us any delay. If you have everything finalized before you start you’ll be fine. I can’t recommend them enough!

Style Bath and Kitchen has been a gift to us from day one. We are in the midst of a year long, huge remodel and in over our heads to say the least. We have been to nearly every store in the bay area and had to deal with attitude, flakiness, rudeness, and way too expensive choices until we happened upon Mike at Style Bath and Kitchen. Since our meeting, we have exchanged well over three hundred emails, and gone over every detail possible for our project. Their selections are fantastic and actually affordable. Mike’s knowledge of the products is mind blowing, and his ability to understand our tastes shows his talent for this profession. Every question we had was answered within the day, and usually within the hour. We took care of four bathrooms and a kitchen, all in different styles. Fixtures, lights, tubs, vanities, you name it. The quality that came from this place is beyond what you will get anywhere. I can’t believe how lucky we feel.
This is where you should go. Mike, thank you for making our remodel experience actually enjoyable. And mostly, thank you for making our dream house so… dreamy.

I’ve gone here for several projects — both for my own home and as a designer. We ordered a sink many years ago that had fabrication issues from the manufacturer and the owner Gretchen could not have been more accommodating about getting the manufacturer to refund and return our sink that was broken. A year or two later when I returned for a client she remembered me and helped me with another project. I have continued to return here and absolutely love her and her husband Mike. They could not be more easy to work with, their prices are great and they are amazingly friendly.

Wow, Style Bath and Kitchen is amazing! After reading fantastic reviews on Unilocal,I decided that this was the showroom to visit. They have a fantastic selection of products including the cool shower room, where you can see the water pressure from a selection of shower heads. What a great idea and this really does demonstrate how the shower heads work.
What really sets Style apart is the stellar service and product knowledge that we received from Mike. This was the first project that we have had a need to choose fixtures and Mike spent a great deal of time explaining the pros and cons of different products and brands. He is well-​versed in all of the products that he sells and is very patient. Mike does not try to push any one product and he helps you figure out what would work best on your project.

We had a major remodel and home addition project that involved a complete kitchen and bath redo and the addition of a masters bath among many other improvements.
Working with Gretchen at SBK was a major «sigh of relief» — the one person/​business we could count on throughout a stressful 6 month project. She worked with us from start to finish from design, selection of product and finishes, ordering, and even helping us through issues we had with a subcontractor (not affiliated with her). We are extremely pleased and friends are already commenting on how wonderful it all looks. I’d recommend them to friends and family.
* PROCESS: There was no pressure, she worked with and met our budget, developed the design and met with us as needed, and walked us through the entire process. She zeroed in on our style very quickly and helped us to consider various design and color issues, helping us balance our desires and needs and budget.
* DETAIL: She asked us all the questions we weren’t thinking about but we’re important details later on. She even caught and flagged a measurement issue with our approved architectural plans based on her in home measurements!
* COSTS: She carries good, high quality items in her store and also has many vendors she works with to order items not on display. Her prices are actually very reasonable and in a lot of cases either better than other local stores and competitive with online prices. (Plus they are family owned and local). It actually turned out to be lot more efficient to order from her as well.
* SERVICE: absolutely phenomenal. Felt well cared for throughout. She was always available to answer the little questions that came up. She came out to the house when our cabinets were delivered to check them, help make sure everything came in, there were no scratches, and to label them according to the plans to avoid installation errors. Everything was perfect. Plus when we had problems with a subcontractor, leading to numerous additional rush orders, she always got back to me very quickly and was understanding.
Can’t say enough. Great products, excellent design, phenomenal customer service, competitive prices, fabulous results.

After a year of planning, we finally got around to doing the construction on our master bathroom. I knew I did not want to work with the bog box stores and that I needed design and color help. Style Bath had helped out my brother and sister in law on a large remodel, so I already knew they had a stellar reputation within my family.
I had Gretchen come out and work on the final design, tile, vanity, toilet and hardware choices for the master bath. The entire process was effortless. She drew my design, helped with all the colors in the master bath, as well as my bedroom and came up with fixtures in my budget or at least very close…
Style Bath was so fantastic on the master, that when we discovered a leak in the shower plumbing for our second bath and had to redo that, they got all our business for the tile and fixtures for the hall bath.
Gretchen has a wonderful eye for design and color. Style bath manages the purchases seamlessly with our contractor. They always made time for my questions and drop ins. The nice thing about working with a local company like Style Bath is that if there is a problem, they have distributor relationships and can go to the manufacturers to ask questions. It is a level of service and attention to detail that you just do not get at Home Depot or Lowe’s.
The owners and staff are wonderful. I live in Oakland and grew up here, so I love supporting local businesses as well. I highly suggest stopping by if you have a remodel need, they are just wonderful to work with. I could not have done 4 months of bathroom and home remodels without their support and input.

We visited Style Bath and Kitchen to pick out everything we would need for our bathroom remodel. I was hoping that this would be a one stop shop where we could find great options for everything we needed, and I am happy to report it was that and more! I was a little overwhelmed at first with all of the details and decisions that go into a bathroom, but with Heather’s help, my stress quickly disappeared. Heather walked us around the showroom, helping us make decisions one by one on all of the components of our bathroom. She helped us pick out our shower accessories, bathtub, vanity, countertop, toilet, and sink faucet.
Throughout the few months up to our bathroom remodel, we changed our minds on several items, and she was always so patient and helpful in updating our selections and making suggestions. I think what sets SBK apart is their professionalism and top notch customer service. When you visit, you will not just be left wandering around aimlessly becoming confused about what to select. You will be guided and helped throughout the whole process and I cannot thank Heather enough for her guidance. They are also very responsive via email and phone with any questions you may have throughout the process, which I really appreciated. I worked briefly with Mike and Gretchen, who are wonderful to work with as well. I highly recommend checking out SBK first when you’re starting a bathroom or kitchen remodel. We will be tackling another bathroom remodel project in the near future, and will look forward to working with SBK again.

There is going the extra mile and then there is going the extra 100 miles. Gretchen designed our new kitchen and master bath and knocked both out of the park. To that end, she was also incredibly easy to work with and has the best communication skills out of anyone we’ve worked with, home renovations or otherwise. Even on vacation she was always there to help with answers and support, even coming straight to our house from the airport to check in on our counter top install.
Can’t say enough about our experience with SB&K. If we could give 10 stars, we would.

Absolutely stellar customer service from Mike F. We were at the end of a 3-​month kitchen remodel that was being dragged out by TWO sinks kohl sinks that were delivered through home depot and amazon that were BOTH chipped in the same place! This snafu was holding up our entire remodel and because of it, we were stuck in renovation hell. Most stores didn’t have any apron front sinks in stock and because it was labor day weekend, nobody was even open. I sent out a desperate email to every kitchen store in the east bay and Mike got back to me right away and let me know that even though it was a holiday weekend, he could get me my sink in 2 days. He called me that morning first thing to let me know it had arrived. Unfortunately, that particular sink was not right due to the size (totally my fault) and I was scared to let him know because he had gone through all that trouble. But he was shockingly not upset or aggressive at all and his kind and understanding demeanor was so refreshing and rare for sales people these days. I wish I would have known about this place before I went through all of the trouble with amazon and home depot and I will definitely be coming back. Thanks Mike!

I had a wonderful experience with Heather at Style Bath and Kitchen. I just completed a major bathroom remodel and Heather helped me select all of the fixtures — sinks, faucets, showerhead, toilet, medicine cabinets, and towel bars. We thrilled with everything we purchased and the whole process couldn’t have been easier. The showroom at SBK is beautiful and Heather was really knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of my questions and helped me make difficult decisions. I don’t have a lot of wall space, so I was a little angsty about how to arrange the towels bars and Heather and the 2 owners all worked out pros and cons of different situations with me. I really appreciated their attention. We also had to make a return and she made a potentially painful process really easy. I would work with these guys again in a heartbeat.

My wife wanna finish bathroom yesterday and I need it vanity with wired angle. I call Gretchen from Style Kitchen and Bath and ask for help and she found solution with display she had which look great in my bathroom now

My wife found this company on the web a couple of years ago. We were redoing our ½ bath and had gone to at least (5) bathroom fixture stores not counting the big box ones. With all the shops we went to we just could not find the «right» faucet. When we went into this store we immediately saw several models no one else carried including one we really liked. My wife talked to the girl that works here and it sounded like they do a good job keeping up with all the new styles. This was a good 4 star experience.
This year we had a pipe burst in our home in the Oakland hills. We were looking around for a company to work with on design and we again stumbled across this company. When we first walked into their shop we had no idea what our bathrooms were going to look like. They helped us with design, tile, cabinets, counter tops, fixtures, and they even had some contractor recommendations. We changed our minds on several things several times and they were always very patient and helpful. We are still waiting for the rest of our order to come in but so far this has definitely been a 5 star experience.

Everything with my dealings was perfect with these folks. I found the exact retro look refrigerator I wanted — at the right price — delivered when they promised! A truly delightful group of people to work with and complete satisfaction with their selection and product. A great company!

They have a lovely showroom in Oakland with a wide selection to choose from. We had a very positive experience and have confidence that you will give them a 5 star rating if you give them a try. They are always prompt at returning calls and always stay in communication with you. They make themselves available which is a high priority for us.

I want to give 10 stars. After starting our kitchen and master bath remodel… we need help with all of the selections. I had gone to three other shops to find someone that could educate me on how to make an informed decision.
I walked in and was greeted by Cindy… she asked me open ended questions and allowed me to direct the conversation. Thoroughly impressed with her product knowledge and customer service skills. I selected a vanity faucet and thought I was done… LOL! I have made several trips back and made several more purchases.
They have tons to selctions and the price is always just right! If you want a friendly and experinced team working for you! I say start here!

We were turned on to Style Bath by a contractor we interviewed in the city. We didn’t use the contractor but we are extremely grateful for the tip on Style Bath. The owners, Mike & Gretchen, were fabulous and very easy to work with on our project.
We had never done a bathroom remodel and Style Bath guided us every step of the way. Gretchen drove to our place in SF to measure our tiny bathroom and reviewed the pages of design styles that I had torn out of magazines. A few days later we met her at the showroom where she pulled together tiles, baseboards, sinks, faucets, etc… and…guess what… she nailed the design right off the bat. I was anticipating a big *discussion* with hubby but we both loved the proposed design and color scheme.
Within 90 minutes, we pretty much had everything decided and signed the order agreement. You pay as things are delivered which helped. After the discount, their prices are pretty competitive with what you’d find online plus Style Bath will track the order on your behalf and inspect the merchandise which is a convenience factor worth the extra cost. They were terrific with delivering items as needed to help keep our remodel on track.
The only things that would have made things easier is if Gretchen had used a CAD system or similar to create the bathroom design. She works in pencil so any changes (and we made 3 revisions) have to be done by hand which is time consuming and can cause delays if she’s busy. Second, it would have been helpful to have the delivery times next to each item ordered. Anytime my contractor (see Bonev Construction) asked for item status, I had to pick up the phone and call. It also caused one item to be overlooked when it was back-​ordered. Thankfully, it was delivered the day before it was needed so it didn’t cause any problems.
Even if you’re not considering a full remodel, it’s a great place to go to see those high end lines from design magazines.

I just completed a badly needed kitchen remodel. Since contractors automatically lay a big surcharge on everything they touch, in order to save some bucks, part of the deal with my contractor was that I would source most of the materials myself.
So, for the sink, the faucet, the hot water tap — the small shiny stuff — we decided to just order online from one of the discount plumbing supply places. You know: 20% or so off, no sales tax, quick delivery. But Mrs. Z wanted to see some of this stuff in person first, so we came here just to check it out live, fully intending to order everything online.
This store is really really nice, everything beautifully displayed with a couple of model kitchens. The owner, Nino, a really nice young guy who looks about 25, couldn’t have been more helpful with advice about what works well, what doesn’t, what might look like crap in a year, and what will still look good, etc., etc.
All the prices were displayed and they were all full retail, but Nino was so damn helpful that I decided to buy from him right there instead of online. He was incredibly patient as we went back and forth between faucets, trying to decide what would look best and work best, and changing our minds like a couple of kids with ADD at Toys ‘R Us.
So while he’s writing up the invoice, my sphincter is tightening as I add it all up in my head and realize how much all this personal service is gonna cost me. Finally, he presents the invoice, and it is Cheaper. Than. Buying. It. Online, even factoring in the tax. It turns out he gives everyone an automatic 25% contractors discount.
Score another one for small local business. Check this place out if you’re in the market for this kind of stuff. They have an amazing selection of bath fixtures too.
One final thought: There is very little that does more damage to the soul than leaving a place like this realizing you just spent 3 hours of your life that you will never see again PICKING OUT A STUPID FAUCET! It has one job: to direct a stream of water into your sink. It does not have a hard job. It is truly the most lazy ass of appliances. My advice: Give yourself 15 minutes. Then decide. And spend the rest of the day on a hike or a bike ride. Trust me, 24 hours after it’s installed you will not give a rat’s ass what faucet you bought.
