Specifically, our thanks go to Gavin and Joel. Gavin, her tutor, inspired her each week to reach her potential (and more) in her studies. Joel created this fantastic program which prepared her succeed in this important test. He took a very difficult test and broke down the elements to identify what is required to achieve great, great resutls. I cannot imagine a program better than Study Smarter. We have worked with other tutors at Study Smarter for other academic work and the tutors have all been excellent!!!

Talk abut amazing customer service, this place is top notch. Our son needed a quick review on what to expect taking the ISEE test — we called last minute and Joel called us back that day. He not only took care of us, he lined up an amazing tutor Nick, who met with our son twice that week. We wanted to make sure he was ready and that he knew what was coming. Nick prepared him perfectly.
Nick then followed up with us after the test to see how our son did — as did Joel!
These group of people are caring, smart, attentive and know what they are doing. I can’t recommend them enough!

Study Smarter came highly recommended by other parents and did not disappoint. My son could only meet on Saturdays and Lauren was extremely flexible, meeting at our house or the office and varied the times of the appointments to fit our son’s schedule. She developed a great relationship with our son and really helped him understand test-​taking strategies and material to be covered. Each month they checked in with me to give me a progress report. They offer practice test-​taking at Piedmont High School each Sunday morning which was a huge help. Joel and his folks could not be more accommodating or professional.

Son studied with Neel for SAT. 2300 SAT score. 2 years later in 2015, Daughter worked with them. 2310 SAT score. Nothing more to say. Would recommend.

We used three different Study Smarter tutors for my daughter, and they were all terrific.
We started with an SAT tutor in junior year, when her first set of SAT scores were — shall we say — not all that we had hoped for. The tutor connected really well with our daughter on a personal level, which made a big difference. She helped her both with test-​taking strategies and with some substantive math knowledge. The work paid off with a BIG improvement in her scores when she took the SAT again.
That sold us on Study Smarter. We used a different SS tutor during the summer after junior year, for some remedial math work that allowed her to qualify for pre-​calculus in school. Then we used another SS tutor through senior year to support her in math. It made a big difference both in her performance and feelings about math: In retrospect, I wish we’d gotten her mat tutoring all through high school.
What all three tutors had in common was a combination on subject knowledge and an ability to relate/​connect to our daughter. Joel, the owner of Study Smarter, was attentive and responsive. During the SAT tutoring, he checked in periodically to make sure it seemed to be meeting our needs.
I would *definitely* recommend Study Smarter rather than one of the big cookie-​cutter test prep companies. Individual tutoring is more expensive than taking a class, so it won’t be affordable for everyone. But we found it a worthwhile investment.
