History

Established in 2000.

It all started in Silicon Valley after the Y2K scare. When we realized that the internet didn’t implode-​as we were told it may-​we decided to add our mark to the digital universe. We had a classically trained graphic designer and an idea for a business. We wanted to design logos and websites for companies. We called ourselves Logo74 and focused on branding and digital design.

In 2005 Logo74 moved to the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, CA and began focusing on content management system based websites. In 2010 our founder, Aron Scarinzi partnered with Garrett Goldman to expand the business. Today, Aron runs the creative side, Garrett is in charge of business activities and Vijish Kumar manages the technical team. In 2015 we moved to downtown Oakland and changed our name to State Creative to better reflect the services we offer.

Garrett’s passion for elegant design and superior user experiences started in 2005 when he co-​founded a real estate brokerage and spearheaded the digital strategy for his company. Garrett managed a team that built a website and content management system used as a tool to recruit agents and generate leads. After selling his real estate brokerage he consulted with local organizations serving as a project manager, business developer and social media and marketing expert. He joined the team at Logo74 in 2010 after he hired the design firm to assist in developing marketing collateral for the non-​profit By Any Dreams Necessary where he continues to volunteer as the Director of Marketing and Operations. Impressed by the design team, engineering team and products created by Logo74, Garrett developed a friendship with the founder and became a Managing Partner at the firm. Garrett focuses primarily on project management, business operations, business development and marketing.
