Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building

«I only come here for the architecture». I’ve really got no reason to visit this building for the services, it just happens to be a nice thoroughfare for a walk through the Oakland City Plaza and beyond, and is a loop we do sometimes at lunch.
Today they had the doors wide open, which was great for the beautiful January weather. Of course, it has the bridge piece which is a significant part of the Oakland skyline, but the central area is pretty nice with its floor patterns. Definitely worth a walk through.

In the world of Federal buildings, I’d say I approve. The location is well maintained and landscaped, and the site is convenient to restaurants and Bart in Downtown Oakland. Btw, you’ll need to get off BART at the 12^th Street City Center stop. I like that there is a security presence in the area also. In case you are in this building and need to visit the café (which is not that great) it is on the 5^th floor of the South tower. You can cross over from the North tower by going to the 5^th floor and using the rotunda bridge to cross over to the South tower. Keep in mind Starbucks is just across the street in case you’d like something better than that café. All in all in all it’s not too bad a place if you have attend a training or meeting here.
