History

Established in 1946.

Dr. Morton Sarver opened Rockridge Optometry to the Bay area community in 1946. As a pioneer and researcher in the contact lens industry, he served as the Chief of the Contact Lens Clinic at UC Berkeley School of Optometry where he taught until his passing in 1986. He built Rockridge Optometry’s reputation for successfully fitting contact lenses to patients considered to be «too hard to fit».

Two of his sons, Dr. Donald Sarver and Dr. Larry Sarver, joined the practice in 1971 and 1980. Both have extensive experience teaching at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry Contact Lens Clinic.

Dr. Scott Yokoi joined the practice in 1986. Our newest associate, Dr. Cindy Sakai, joined Rockridge Optometry in 2007.
