We make a unique adjustable saddle that flexes on the horse’s back for extreme comfort for horse and rider. A two-​week test ride is mandatory before a purchase — and is FREE. Come and see the saddles in our show room in Oakland. Or shop — we carry high-​end products like KK bits, Fleck whips, Sprenger stirrups and our own line of bridles, girths and stirrup leathers, plus leather cleaners, and some books and videos. We believe in pressure testing, and use, sell and rent saddle fitting pads that measure pressures under the saddle. We also conduct saddle fittings all over California, and hold educational seminars and workshops on saddle fit.

History

Established in 1999.

Created in England in 1992, the ReactorPanel Saddle System is 20 years old with a solid history of helping riders bring their horses into an unparalleled comfort zone. Long a favorite of endurance riders who know the importance of a pain-​free back on a hundred-​mile ride, ReactorPanel saddles have been in every major international endurance race for almost a decade. Now the biggest market for the saddles is dressage, but there are RP saddles for every sport, from eventing and jumping to racing and polo. Give us a try!

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

After being bucked off in 1997, Carmi came to realize that ill-​fitting saddles cause mayhem for horse and rider. When she learned how many horses are in significant pain and, restricted performance from bad saddles, she devoted herself to understanding saddles and saddle design, and to educating riders about the importance of proper saddle fit.

Carmi has ridden since 1972, involved first in Pony Club and combined training, then hunter/​umper, and most recently dressage (though she has completed a 50-​mile endurance ride). She has studied and worked with vets, innovators and researchers in the U.S. and abroad, and of course with her favorite teachers: the horses themselves.

Carmi is committed to putting more science and less guesswork into the fitting process, and believes with modern tools to assess fit that all horses should have well-​fitting saddles. She knows it is riders who make the difference on behalf of their horses, and generously shares her knowledge with all who are curious
