Mac’n’cheese is EVERYTHING to me and I can’t fathom how y’all messed it up!!! Just nasty. The shrimp was ok, but for the price y’all may wanna consider prawns. Sweet potato pie was decent. I’m lazy and had it delivered which was another mistake. But it’s not a mistake I’ll be repeating.

I just arrived at QUICKBITE! First time here and excited about eating some good fish. I spent $ 16.50 for a three way which consisted of 3 pieces of snapper, and two shrimp. When I say HORRIBLE!!! that’s an understatement!!! Every single piece of my snapper was hollow, and caked with cornmeal. I was literally eating fried chips with cornmeal as the batter. I never write reviews but, I had to because I’m appalled that they can get away with selling fish like this. I will NEVER spend my $ at this hole in the wall again. Don’t get me wrong, some hole in the walls have great food however, QUICKBITE doesn’t fall into that category, and I can’t believe I paid an extra .75 cents for more tartar sauce!

Man this food is great. I enjoyed it! Made that I share the prawn and fries with someone else lol. The portions served is too small for the price though. For $ 16 I can go the all you eat buffet. But the great taste over takes that. Great customer services! Prep time was accurate with time that was giving.

I hella love this place! I usually order catfish, and/or macaroni salad, yams. I make a point to ask for bread, tartar sauce, hot sauce and ketchup. Considering the price and taste I don’t think you can find this deal for taste and convenience. The fries are seasoned with garlic which I think is pretty good as well.

Good soul food style fried chicken wings in a tiny divey downtown Oakland storefront. Cooked to order and only 2 small tables so essentially a takeout spot. Red beans and rice was only ok. But the wings were tasty and seasoned properly. Next visit I will get to the catfish, oysters and other down home options that will irritate my personal primary care physician. JYW recommends.

This has been my go-to place for fried an expensive chicken. But today, I ordered my same fried wings(6pcs) and got the most tiniest pieces of wings. Moreover, I think they changed the chicken recipe or the recipe does not work with these small pieces. I am quite disappointed!

* I’m a super fan of good chicken sandwiches and heard they had a homemade chicken sandwich. I came here for 1 ½ months and they were out of the homemade chicken sandwiches. I thought it was sttange, but they had a cool attitude and I was determined to try their sandwich. One day they actually had the homemade chicken sandwich so I ordered it… it was previously frozen chicken tenders and fried in the same grease as the fish and the shrimp(you know the taste)…I had a sandwich with about 4 or 5 chicken tenders on it and its tastes like it was fried in old grease. I checked to make sure it wasn’t fish on the sandwich and it was definitely chicken tenders. I could not eat the chicken sandwich as it tastes like something other than chicken, more specifically a fish that I have never had. The owner/person cooking was very pleasant and pretty engaging, and my coworker enjoyed a few items from here, but Im no fan of fried foods that are all fried in the same grease.

These ladies are the best. Great customer service & always smiling. Quick is the perfect word to describe the service. Very tastey. I found MY new favorite spot for lunch. Will be back again tomorrow

Their food is pretty good & cheap for the amount of food that you receive. Sometimes their service can be a little slow & they can be a little rude. Their chicken wings are extremely small but the flavor is really good. Overall, it’s a nice spot to go to for an occasional lunch.

My catfish and shrimp were so good and fresh! The place doesn’t look very inviting but it’s clean, the prices are crazy cheap for the amount of catfish that u get and its delicious.

The black lady that works here was singing«goin’ UP! On a Tuesday and it made my day. Stopped in for a quick bite and had the catfish sandwich«Fast Eddie» with a side of fries. The batter was nice and crispy and the catfish was seasoned well. This is the type of spot where you come for good deep fried food. The only knock I have is that the potion size was a lil small I wish the sandwich was bigger. I’d mos def comeback. Hopefully she’s singing another song I like next time.

I am back with 2 more stars after 2 years! I just got back to my office with my order of 3X3(prawns, fish, oysters) with potato salad and I realized… I am getting exactly what the name of this joint indicates… they aren’t pulling any punches or promising anything more than a Quick Bite of food. The problem today is that I paid $ 16 bucks for this bite and, though I am not hungry anymore, I did expect that I would be like«whew that’s a lot of food! lololol… my little tray was the same size they put the $ 5 deals in. I will say the that the potato salad was cold, this time. My bites of oysters, were just that, the 1.5 fish filets, butterflied, cormealed prawns were a bit over cooked and I am excepting that they don’t do a lot of seasoning. It’s cool though. A cheap place in the crest of downtown that is what it is.

This place was ehhh-ok the extra star is for the nice lady-good customer service. As far as the food, the chicken was seasoned good, just a bit feathery… I don’t like feathers on my food, the shrimp. ok, they were butterflied. The cleanliness(lack of) of this place is what made me iffy about the food. It was clean as in wiped down, but it just looked very dingy in there and smelled of old grease. I most likely won’t return, but the food was not the worse. If they remodeled and made it look clean I would definitely return.

Ordered a fried chicken sandwich: literally recieved a hot dog bun full of brown lettuce and soggy chicken tender. A ~single~ chicken tender. Tasted awful, and I felt extremely nauseous after eating the mac n cheese that honestly tastes like velveeta.

I thought I was discovering a new spot that had southern style fish fry. This spot got them folks who need to sober up fooled. Beer goggles on this spot.

Time: 2:01pm/62°F intermittent cloud Purpose: Ran into a buddy of mines from back in the school days at farmers markets grand ave. He ask if I can give him a lift, which I did. We pull up to this joint and he got out ask me if I wanted anything. I said look you don’t need to do that I’m not asking for a handout, as I work too. Ambiance: A real hole in wall type of shop with a maximum of 3 table with 2 chairs. It’s stuffy due to its size. I felt like the place was a hallway at some point just converted to do a business. Menu posted has no pictures of items only prices and descriptions. A cold case holding in drinks is the only product you’ll see on site everything else it’s made to order. Staff: A lady about late 50’s could be owner nice and friendly as I mistook her for those hoochy mama type. Once you talk with her it’s all smiles and helpful from there on. Cleanliness: Grade B-, with 14+ years in business there will be some stains/grease around the place. Not to be concern because once simple is applied the equipments will shine like new. Eats/Drinks: 10pc chicken wings with ranch sauce $ 5.52 normally today on the house. It’s just wings that can be had anywhere that has a bar and TV. Nicely done hot and fresh but I just know paying for convenience here. Products/Services: Wings, catfish, snapper, sole, hush puppies, fries, combos, baskets, breaded etc. Too many to list but her website will have pictures and descriptions I’m sure you’ll find something to suit you. Catering, private parties, large volume available at least 50% down and must have 48hrs in advance. Punch Lines: Made to order, friendly, moderate pricing, limited seating, stuffy. Nearby Bart, AC, federal/state buulding, city hall, Chinatown, old oakland, cafes, clubs, barber shop, street or garage parking, halfway to uptown, dentist, legal consultant, acupuncture, hotel, banks, specialty shops. Tradeoffs: You come for the fried greasy finger licking good eats and desserts with hoping for a fancy neon lightning store front. Final Thoughts: When I was working in the east bay for some reason I just never muster myself to here. Don’t know why? Now when I’m back in SF all of a sudden places that once never were is now a quick let’s go. I will return only to get grilled items but not fried goods as I seldom or rarely munch on anything deep fried.

Mmm, I felt pretty fat after that meal, especially when the food coma started to hit. I sat at work with a glazed look the rest of the afternoon. So my friend was craving fried foods and was telling me about this hole in the wall, so we decided to get lunch here one day. The walk was pretty far from where we worked but that’s good if we’ll be eating fried foods! The place is super tiny and super warm but it definitely smelled really good, and their menu had a good selection. I got the quick bite from my friends suggestion which is three pieces of fried catfish and yuppp that was definitely really good. I also ordered a side of onion rings and I kind of wish I got a side of fries instead because the onion rings were meh. The catfish was pretty good though because it was soft and not too much saltiness. I definitely have never tasted any other types of fried foods that tasted like this. It’s very different. The portion was huge for such a low price, plus there’s a Unilocal deal if you order more than $ 7 worth of food. So yeah, I would come back to eat more of it and maybe try the fries next time.

Whaat! I’ve worked near this area for over a year and never knew this place existed. Can you say hole in the wall? It’s such a tiny shop, that this place can easily be overlooked. Quick Bite excels at fried goodness. Everything here was fried perfectly and deliciously. I think its a dangerous thing that I have now discovered a place that serves fried food. I ordered the combo with my coworkers, used the $ 2 off coupon on orders greater than $ 12. I bought 2 combo, minus the $ 2 coupon, came out to be around $ 17. It came with about 3 – 4 fried chicken wings, 3 fried catfish, and cajun fries. A couple of our orders got messed up, so instead of fries, we got macaroni salad. Gross. Anyways, my coworkers were kind enough to share their fries. The best part of the meal would definitely have to be the catfish. The batter was unique and tasty, not too salty, and the fish was juicy and tasted fresh. It paired very well with the hot sauce. The chicken wings were okay, definitely need more hot sauce on those. The cajun fries were regular cajun fries. The macaroni salad wasn’t good, I’m not a fan of macaroni salad in the first place. Definitely wanted more cajun fries. I recommend getting the cat fish! I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu, but I must take a step back from fried foods for now. The food coma will definitely hit you!

I ordered the fish combo this time remembering my last review about the iffy-ness of the chicken. The fish was sole and catfish. Both were fried to perfection and tasted wonderful. I just wish they made their own condiments instead of packets… Also, I think it’s robbery that they charge 1 dollar for card usage… :( Anyway, great fish! The fries were extremely greasy this time… not so yummy. The fish was fantastic. I wish I had a piece of bread to sandwich it with. Mm!

I decided to use my groupon this evening for an early dinner… This is more of a take out joint with a few 2 person tables… I ordered the wings, catfish, fries, hush puppies… all were ok… the best are their wings… even know it seems like they are all breaded with the same flavors… Will return for a bunch of wings… Family owned with good folks trying to make a living just like me…
