History

Established in 2007.

Making hand crafted apparel goes back a long way in my family. My mother use to knit Fair Isle sweaters in 2 days on her machine back in the early 60’es before becomming a teacher. My grandmother knitted endlesly for the whole family and made woven rag rugs out of any scrap. In the shop I have a line drawing from 1888 of my great grandmother knitting when she was 9 — double pointed needle stuck in her hair.

Everybody working in the shop will tell you a simular story — so all in all you will find many years of combined experience in the textile art and craft.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

I started out with knitting and crochet when I was 11… and have never really stopped …

At 19 I went to Kunst hojskolen in Denmark where I worked with wool from it’s raw unwashed form to finished product. Carting, spinning, plant and cemical dyeing, felting, weaving, sculping… or just plain knitting.

After a few years of living in different places of the World adding a few other degrees and staring a family — I now find myself back here with wool on my mind — and hence the idea of a yarn store came to be. We all need a friendly open place to come together to learn the craft our grandmothers knew.
