Dr. Wong was my 86 year old father’s glaucoma specialist. Now I’ve been diagnosed with glaucoma and my optometrist recommend her. I’m determined to find someone other than dr. Wong as this office was factory healthcare at its worst.(the pervious review perfectly described the experience) This doctor seemed to have little understanding or a command of language for any one under 30. She hardly spoke to me let alone my father. Often we waited more than an hour. This was bad enough for me but the waiting room was often filled with people in their 80s. No one ever apologized. The prevailing attitude was that this was what we should expect and that we should just deal with it …

Dr. Wong is knowledgeable. However…the office does NOT respect their patients. I do not know if this rudeness originates from the doctor, but it is pervasive. I always have had to wait at least 30 minutes and once an hour and 45 minutes. At no time did anyone explain why I was waiting, thank me for waiting or,(heaven forbid!) apologize. Explanations are not given. The patient, it would seem, has no right to know what is happening with their health. The attitude is, sit, be quiet, do as you are told, come here, go there, do not ask questions, leave, and, «next one». This is assembly line health. At a previous visit for surgery, as I was leaving, the aid asked Dr. Wong, «Shall I bring the next ONE in?». Excuse me, we are people with names or at least could be referred to as patients. That faux pas is typical of the attitude in the office. Today a stranger walked into the room during my examination. When I asked who that was the nurse told me that, «She will be observing.» Usually when a medical professional is learning, the patient will be informed and their consent requested. Not in this office: we will not consult you, you have no rights, you do NOT deserve respect. Does it occur to these people that they are consultants of the patients? The patients have a right to make health care decisions for themselves based on what their consultant, AKA, the physician, explains. It is the patient who is in charge. During prior surgery I was given a medication which I had expressly, previously informed them makes me ill. I was very ill for 36 hours after surgery, but did not know why. Today I asked what medications I was given during surgery and was shocked to discover they gave me what they knew makes me ill. When I pointed out this error, I was told, «We thought it was for the best.» No one consulted me, no one warned me. There is a heavy set receptionist who is the ultimate in rudeness. She represents the attitude of the office and needs to be fired. Perhaps to be rude is a prerequisite of this job, but, then, again, maybe it is part of the training that this office gives. Enough already! Time to look for a new ophthalmologist.

The Mother is a client here at this office. So far, so good. I usually wait in the waiting room or else where. The doctor is very nice, very kind. The staff is very professional. And I like there is bottled water for patients and their companions.

My appt. went very well, my eye is healing nicely. My eye pressure was 10 today. The eye surgeon did great work. The shunt in my right eye is draining perfectly. The office is running better right now, I did not have to wait in my last two visits.

Avoid this office!!! The doctor may be knowledgeable but she is always rushing out the door before we can ask any questions. The support staff are horrendous. My husband was diagnosed with early stage glacauma and was sent to this office. Every time he went in for an appointment, he had to wait more than 30 min. to 1.5 hours to be seen. His employer changed insurance plan, so he needed to change doctor. When he requested his medical files, it never came.

This office is a train-wreck. I was referred to Dr. Wong by my primary eye doctor. I was trying to get final approval to get lazer surgery on my eyes. Because I have thick corneas my Doctor was unable to get an accurate eye-pressure reading. I went to Dr. Wong’s office for an exam and to have a picture taken of my optic nerve(to compare it after a years time.) That was in March of 2007. It is now July of 2008 and Dr. Wong’s office has not provided my eye doctor with my results or my photographs. I have spoken with her staff on over a dozen occasions in the past year. Each time I was assured that my photos and information was being sent to my eye doctor. Yet every time I made an appointment with my eye doctor I was informed that my file was missing Dr. Wong’s info. If you value your eyesight stay away from this incompetent office. I’ve wasted a years time waiting to have my eyes re-examined and compared to the photos taken in March of 07. Now it looks like I’ll be waiting another year. Oh well, what does my time matter to Dr. Wong?
