Dr. So is very professional when it comes her area of expertise. I had some inflammtions in the throat, and she can quickly offer me treatment (involves needles), got rid of some toxins, and i was clear throughout my body. She offered some medications and that cleared up really quick! Highly recommend Dr. So.

Time: 3:43pm/60°F cloudy/​drizzles
Purpose: Bought a bottle of Tiger Balm extra strength for my glove department, old bottle expired 4 months ago.
Set-​up: Wall to wall of jars fill with herbal remedies. They even have a doctors on site for issues if you have any.
Staff: Two woman in front and one in back the doctor. The ones in front will follow you and keep begging you to buy. Lady with ponytail and glasses is crazy told me to sit down with doctor. For what? How do you know what I’m in here for? Don’t assume it’s bad for business.
Cleanliness: Well kept no complaints.
Purchases: A bottle of tiger balm extra strength $ 4.25 taxes included.
Products: Snacks, dried fruits/​squids, preserved fruits, remedies, medicinal purposes, Chinese Viagra etc.
Punch Line: Cheaper than your neighborhood shop with some items, located in heart of chinatown, not so friendly, meter parking, lots of other options around, people of all ethnicity comes through.
Final Thoughts: This will be my last time buying from them again. Reason is that the bottle I bought was good til 2016 but the coupon for $ 1 off future use has expired. I ask them to check if they can check if other boxes are the same. She told me I can’t use it there as I was about to buy another bottle using the coupon. We stood there talking back and forth with no avail. I left scratching my head if the item has an expired date in 2016 why would the inserted coupon expired in 2012, two years ago. Something is fishy here may need to contact consumers affairs unit for investigation, fraud involved. Place should be no stars because of Unilocal policy I’ll let you slide. One star is for the pricing on items that’s all the star I can afford to pass out.

Oakland Mei Shen Ginseng is one amongst at least a dozen herbalists/​ginseng stores in chinatown. most of these store are stocked with traditional chinese herbal remedies, health aids, and aphrodisiacs. some also carry a small inventory of snacks, noodles, chinese condiments/​sauces and everyday kitchen ingredients.
