Oakland Earth Expo

Purpose: Time for lunch break and attended event nearby, a block away.
Set-​up: Canopys and tents with different county/​city agencies reaching out to the public on how to make earth/​world a better place. Some with products on hand showing how it works and ways to prevent/​maintenance of household. Some food trucks around with tables and chairs on plaza area. Electric vehicle reps on hand showing you how to drive a car as well as charging in public.
Staff: All vendors are welcoming and friendly. Don’t be afraid or shy to ask this is the best time to ask them rather than being on hold on the phone.
Cleanliness: Held outdoors so expect some, but not a lot of litter. The event itself is about clean does that ring a bell?
Products/​Services: Green, recycle, plant base, nature, wildlife, DIY, kids activities, city/​county programs, transportation safety, items made from recyclables.
Punch Lines: Great way to learn, interesting products, reusable bags, coloring books, city hall, Bart/​bus accessible, brochures, flyers, temporary tattoos, insect farm, mosquito repellent wipes, electric cars, food trucks, restaurants, cafes.
Final Thoughts: It’s a free event worth spending your lunch time here lot’s to learn from. I will spread the word to my friends and let them know how effective being eco friendly means. Lastly who would’ve thought that crayons made from soy beans got two boxes for nephew and niece. It smell weird upon looking at fine print made with soybeans.
