Normandy Heating & Air onditioning

We woke up recently to a very cold house and discovered our furnace was not working. So we did some research and ended up calling somebody in the «beginning of the alphabet» that seemed reputable. The service provider came out, told us our fuse had blown and showed us a wire that had been disconnected and corroded. He then gave us a list of several repair options (first replace the SSU switch, then you’ll probably have to run a new wire from the SSU to the furnace, possibly replace the fan and motor, etc), but highly suggested getting a new furnace. The following week a person from that company came out to give us a quote on a new furnace. We decided to get a second opinion and called Norman, who was referred by a friend of mine who is a property owner. Norm came this morning, took a look at the furnace, reconnected the wire and voilà we have heat again. The $ 59 service call from the first company didn’t even attempt that simple fix. All they really wanted to do was sell us something new and improved. Normandy Heating is honest and still believes in the old adage, «don’t throw the baby out with the bath water» or is it, «if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.» Whichever, you get my drift. So glad we got a second opinion. Hope this review saves you the trouble.
