Specialties
We at Musically Minded have captured the joy of music education and are devoted to imparting it to our students.
Music changes people’s lives. For some it is an expressive outlet, others it gives them something to connect to that allows them to stay focused on the everyday. It develops the brain and complements other pursuits. It creates a way for community to gather and share at concerts and shows, family events, and community gatherings.
Musically Minded teachers share this very personal love with their pupils — old and young.
In our programs at Musically Minded you can:
– Receive training and guidance from experienced and recognized instructors
– Explore many different musical instruments, genres, and skills
– Cultivate your musical persona and expression as an artist
– Enjoy music instruction and refine musical skills at any age or life stage
History
Established in 2007.
Anna Orias (then with her maiden name, «Anna Miller») started teaching piano in the living room of her home as a sole instructor in 1992. Anna recognized that students needed their teachers to model musicianship and to organize their study of music. She also knew how important it was for students to see peers accomplishing their goals and finding successful ways to work through their educational challenges. She developed a program weekly private lessons with monthly specialized performance and academic events.
The program was very successful and grew over many years into a non-profit organization with 11 teachers and over 100 students. The new facility was added in January of 2011 and acts as a Music Center for Rockridge and the community at large.
