Worst and slowest service ever! I ONLY go there for the tortas and it’s so stupid that they run out of teleras to make them when they have a bakery on site. It is absolutely ridiculous! Customer service has decrease so much in this location, I believe management should do better if they want their customers to go back. It is not worth the wait

International Grocery Stores are a delight of living in the city. Mi Pueblo is a large Latino grocery store a short walk from the Fruitvale BART station. The produce section here is pretty huge & has many varieties of hot chile peppers. They even have cactus in the produce section aka nopal. My favorite thing about going to Mi Pueblo is that they have a dozen varieties of salsa in the Deli that are sold by the pound. You take a number & wait to called before placing your order. Having some knowledge of basic Spanish here is helpful. I love their Guacamole, the Salsa Mexicana similar to Pico de Gallo w/more of a kick, & Salsa Roja Asada or Roasted Red Salsa. It gets fairly busy here so the turnover is quite high. Check out Two Mammas Vegan Kitchen for brunch before going to Mi Pueblo as both are close to the Fruitvale BART so you can catch two birds with one hand before setting them free!

Mi Pueblo is a Mexican food dream come true! So many intriguing, delicious things to look at and taste. I wanted to purchase a bit of everything! As to not break the bank —(and mainly because I can only carry so many items at once) — items purchased were a couple of agua frescas, homemade tortilla chips, avocados and limes(for guacamole), and the mocha tres leches cake. The strawberry agua fresca is like a dessert in itself! So refreshing and flavorful. The tres leches isn’t the best I have ever had, as it was a little dryer than most — but still, it held its own. The tortilla chips are pretty tasty, too. I’d love to go back and order off of the hot bar, as well as sample some additional desserts. The prices were very fair, and checkout was efficient enough. Thanking my husband for this great find!

The tacos there are the most bad tacos i was eating, the tortillas are cold the carne is so greasy and cook for long time and salsa don’t have flavor, the supermarket is kinda expensive, is sad to see how they said care the latinos but its not truth, just want the money for latin people, is a lot advertising that lie for all that the market don’t offer.

Will definitely come back. Customer service! I noticed that there’s a few workers that do not speak English however they do not leave me standing. They will immediately escalate my concerns to the managers. The cashier — Jose — I don’t know why — but he’s seems different compared to other grocery cashiers. He’s very cheerful and brings in convo that makes the process of paying a lot faster and smoother! And he even told me that there’s a manufacturer coupon that can be applied to my groceries! Gotta love cashiers that helps me think about my wallet ;) The Deli department is pretty good too. I haven’t tried food from there but the people that worked there are nice. I asked them a lot of questions of the food, what is it, how it taste like etc — but didn’t buy any. They were patience and made sure that the food will work out for me. Meat Department: The guy is pretty nice. I have a type of meat on my shopping list that I don’t really know about and he tries his best to tell me the type of meat that I’m looking for and ensure that it’s for the right cooking method. Bakery: Somehow, the wait is a little long. I went back and forth several times just to go back to the bakery and they’re still not free yet. But the food looks amazing! The lady that helped me was nice. Salsa — I was offered free sample just for checking the food out. LOVEIT! :)

Super busy location. Never enough cashiers, however very polite bilingual employees. Has all you need from a typical grocery store. Alcohol selection is ok. The restaurant inside the grocery store is SUPER good!

I usually like this place… waited 10 minutes for the tamale lady to show up.. $ 19.99 for a dozen tamales just to get home and find them RAW in the middle. the masa was not cooked inside. NASTY

The hot food deli is no longer a cluster. I’m back to totally liking this place and the folks working there. Still not crazy with all the plastic bags used in the hot food deli. They still put everything in a clear plastic bag even when it’s already in a container.

This place is not what it use to be. Employees are terrible no customer services. I went to get tacos after work the girl there was very slow and was helping a guy with some change issues. I was standing there for a good 15 minutes did not even acknowledge that I was standing there .A so call manager came to help her with issue and she dint even acknowledge, me either like I was a fly in the wall. But to top things up when the guy that was making my burrito gave me wrong meat, when I told him he remove meat with an attitude and gave me meat I want it Are you kidding me ! I am paying for what I want to eat. Why would you have such an attitude cause you messed up my order. I use to go here all the time but stop going cause of there bad service but thought I give it another change, No more will I go there. They Suck !

Mi Pueblo is just the greatest place ever! I love Mexican food and you can get it here. Or you can learn to make it yourself with all the authentic ingredients they have. The deli is awesome. All that fresh food and not just the chili rellenos or the different types of tamales they have, but dishes you don’t normally see. And I love the fact that you can view and choose exactly what you want to eat. But more than that is the great customer service you get. There is an associate in just about any department you go to. They are so knowledgeable and helpful it’s wonderful. AND, if you ask about a certain product there is a good chance they will give you a sample to taste. I was looking at the tortillas and the lady came and asked me if I wanted to try one. Well, of course I did, so she went and got one that was just made(they make them there fresh) and handed the HOT tortilla to me to taste. In the produce section I asked the associate what were these different looking limes. He said sweet limes and I said, «wow, I’ve never seen them before». So he brought out a knife and cut it in half and gave it to me to taste. All the staff is so friendly and happy, they really seem to love their job! And all the meats, produce, baked goods, cheeses and everything else was so fresh and tasty. I just wish it was a block away from where I lived. That’s why I didn’t give them 5 stars, I’m waiting for them to come to my neighborhood.

The worst experience in a grocery store ever. Purchased $ 44 worth of groceries and paid for 2 bags. When done with transaction I needed an extra bag. I was told I had to pay 10 cents for another bag, I had no coins or cash on me, I’m told I had to use atm again to pay for bag. SMH. EVENTHEMANAGEROFTHESTORESAID«YOUHAVETOPAY, YOUHAVETOPAY». Mi Pueblo is truly a one-stop-super market. More so than other super markets like Safeway or Lucky’s. The prices are lower except maybe produce. Since they specialize in Latin products, they have everything covered. There are many different sections I will go to on every visit. Bakery: they bake all the Mexican pan dulces, as well as bear claws, cinnamon rolls, cheese danishes, etc. I usually grab one of each. Deli: their deli has of course burritos, tacos, and pupusas. They also have all the ingredients to take home like Mexican rice, refried beans, guacamole, along with all the meats prepared like chicken, chicharron, and beef. Meat department: all the parts of the animals from the rooter to the tooter. Including Pig Cabeça if that tickles your fancy. But what I usually pick up is the marinated beef, pork, or chicken for tacos. Salsa department: Mi Pueblo also has all the salsas and sides like macaroni salad in one section. Salsa roja for example will cost about $ 1.99 a pound. Much cheaper than at other super markets. Along with these departments Mi Pueblo has an endless amount of brands and sizes for tortillas. And the star of the show here is their homemade Tortillas Chips. Best tortilla chips ever. The Bad: My only knock on this place are the lines. They are long 75% of the time so prepare to wait. The employees are all friendly, and bilingual which makes the wait a little more bearable though I wish they would address the problem. But Mi Pueblo despite its few flaws remains my favorite market.

I do most of my shopping here these days. I love the fresh meat they have, and you can get an awesome chicken fajita mix for less than $ 2 a pound

How much do I love Mi Pueblo Food Center? So much that I’ve been carrying around a receipt in my wallet from December 2014 as a reminder of the good times I had there. You know what? That’s weird. I get it. But I don’t care. And I wasn’t even there to pick up ingredients for a giant Mexican fiesta. It was simply a stop to pick up sides for the bounty I was collecting from the taco trucks around the neighborhood. So that meant freshly fried chips, bright chopped salsas, and their glorious pork rinds. Usually, we come here for the parking lot grilled chicken. This time we found a fellow who was selling tamales from his trunk. Those may have been a bit sketchy, but they were also incredibly delicious. It’s time to take the receipt out of my wallet. Surely, my next trip to the Bay Area will involve another stop here. I’m looking forward to it, and hope that those who live nearby understand just how lucky they are to have such a store in their ‘hood.

I went in today to buy a last minute cake for a good friend of mine. I’ve Bought a cake from there before and it was ok I decided to give them another try. I went today at around 12pm pretty busy time and u figure they have fresh cakes by now. After showing up to the party with a cake bought from there it was a complete fail. The cake smelled sour and it tasted nasty. I will never buy a cake from here again.

Great: Pollo Asado(grilled chicken) is to die for. Also most of the hot food counter is decent to good. Six salsas worthy of your fave restaurant. Fresh chips and tortillas. Suspect: Most if not all of the produce. Pro tip: Get a churro relleno(stuffed) filled with chocolate or caramel outside.

I usually come here to get Tamales and the sweet corn bread/cake. There Tamales are hit n miss. Sometimes there is just way too much masa and not enough meat, been happening a lot lately. I do not shop here, only because I live about 1.5 hours north.

I absolutely love this supermarket, it’s walking distance from my house, on site parking is always available, and at least 2 – 3 guards are always on duty monitoring the premises. As soon as you enter this store, the aroma of fresh coffee and pastries lingers through the air; entangling you in its web of deliciousness, if you happen to make it through, you will surely be halted by one of the other well kept displays throughout the store. The Produce Section Here is always cheap in price, and always excellent in quality and the staff is always willing to go above and beyond for its patrons(I needed lettuce, but the display was looking sparse, so a clerk offered to break apart a pallet to find a perfect head of lettuce for me). As you move along the store, you will notice the seafood, meat, and deli counters, all of which are amazing. The seafood is fresh daily, and reasonably priced, but I personally think the meat section is where the magic lies. They offer almost anything that you could want, everything from ground beef to sides of goat, you name it they got it(Adobo Chicken Is Excellent). It would be a crime to leave out the deli in this review, and although I do not purchase sliced meats from here, I do love the variety of salsas, salads, yogurts, sour cream, and cheeses that they offer(Salvadoran Sour Cream Is some of the best I’ve had). Anyways, shop here and you’ll love this place just as much as me.
