*This review is only for breakfast. I never thought there would come a day where I would be reviewing a McDonald’s, let alone give it 5 stars, but I truly think whoever made our sandwiches deserves 5 bright red stars! Vincent and I were driving to South Bay early on a Saturday morning and we stopped by this McDonald’s in Oakland right off 880 for breakfast and coffee. We ordered our usual sausage egg mcmuffins, and didn’t have much expectations, but after the first bite. We both looked at each other and OHMAN the best sausage egg mcmuffins we’ve ever had. Mind blown. The fluffy steaming egg, juicy sausage patty, and perfectly melted cheese all hugged together by toasty English muffins. Perfect in every bite. Felt like I could be in a McDonald’s commercial. The drive thru was fast and the hash browns were really good too. Not too oily.

This morning the manager took my order for a sausage biscuit with cheese. There was nothing displayed on the order confirmation screen and she never told me my total. When I got to the window she just stared at me until I gave her my card. When I got my order, it was wrong. I said«this isn’t what I ordered, I ordered a sausage biscuit with cheese.» She said, «NO, you ordered a number 4.» Classy. She finally fixed it but not without trying to overcharge me a second time and being rude first.

They’re slow & don’t actually mix the McFlurry. I realize that is a stupid thing, but it’s just annoying that they don’t take the time to mix it.

At 6pm tonight I was sitting at the drive there. 15 minutes to move 3 cars in front of me. BUT I was entertained the whole time by HUGE rats outside my car.(4 rats 1 mouse) I told the manager and he said he knew and that they set out traps. Well sir they are NOT working! DISGUSTING!!! I was the one trapped and couldn’t drive out of the drive thru lane and panicked that the rats were going to climb into my car.

I went through the drive thru and ordered a Big Mac Meal with no cheese. I come home, ready to eat and what do I see? Cheese. Even though I stated no cheese, and on the receipt on the box for the burger it says«No Amrcn Cheese.» Unfortunately I can’t eat this. I am incredibly upset right now. Edit to add: I called at close to 12am when I realized the error(they close at 1am) and explained it to whomever answered the phone. He was very lackadaisical when I tokd him about this and the allergy, and just asked if I had a receipt, and then if I could come in at that very moment. When I stated that wasn’t possible, he said that I can then bring itin the next day for a refund if I bring in the receipt… Who knew a quick plan would turn out like this. There’s a reason why I never frequented this establishment, and I will continue to not be a patron going forward.

In this McDonald’s my family always have problems. Some time they get home and the change they got was less so they shorted my family. Today my luck was the same but different. I order a meal number 9 and done things more but when I got the food I ask where is my hash brown and they said they did not changer me for one but I said I order a meal they check the receipt and they say now. Now I know why I pay so much. So when you order a meal make sure you get the price of a meal because if they charge you separate it will be more and that’s what happen to me. This should be in the ripoff report

We go to this location all the time. And its always mixed service and food. The frys always taste like shit like they never change there oil. There always forgetting half the order. Put this last visit we had was horrible. I went through the drive thru and some young girl was taking orders she was sort of rude. But when she would talk through the speaker i would hear half of what she was saying«do you want ap» i said what and she said the same thing again so when i pulled forward she had her window half way open and asked for the money. I told her sorry i couldnt hear you the speaker wasnt working and she shut the window. Soo rude! She was to busy with her 2 other co workers chit chatting. So when we get my order they forgot my shake and when i asked for it they said i didnt order one when that was the first thing i ordered. I was so mad i didnt even want to argue. And they didnt even bother to correct it. Horrible customer service.

I would to put no star, this place sucks and ghetto. We went to drive thru around 10:30pm Saturday night. We waited for maybe 3mins, and it was only us. I kept saying hello but no one answers. Then i pulled up and check the window. There were 2 people inside. I said hello again and no one answered, then i knocked on the window 2 times, then a lady looked at me and gave me a sign that they were closed. are you serious, Saturday night and they are closed already. And no sign or anything that they were closed for that night. Stupid. Not coming back on this place.

This McDonald’s is usually pretty on point(for a McDonald’s!) but yesterday they messed up my order. My order was simple: four basic cheeseburgers… I only received 3, one of which was a hamburger(missing the cheese) and someone else’s fries(we didn’t order them). I was already on the freeway by the time I noticed the error, or I would have came back… but come on guys, you’ve gotta do better! My order was right on my receipt, but wrong overall, how does that happen? Pay more attention!

It is tiny. The smallest McD, smaller than the ones in NY. This store has at most two register. Good: the wifi is faster than other McDs, it is a good alternative to the McDs around. Bad: it doesn’t feel comfortable enough to sit for more than half a hour.

In my opinion, this is one of the better Mcdonalds locations in the area. For the most part, the staff here is friendly, there are a few rude workers, but that’s expected considering that this is a fast food place and the workers here are miserable and probably hate their jobs(I’ve worked at a Mcdonalds before and it sucks A**). It gets pretty busy in here at times, but the staff is pretty quick at sending out food, just don’t ever use the drive thru(way too slow). This place also has minimal homeless people loitering and begging for money;a refreshing dining room change for sure.

This McDonald’s is sort of hidden and off the beaten path. It’s hard to believe that they get enough customers given their location. Nonetheless, I was driving by only because I had stopped for gas and then looked up in Unilocal to find a nearby place to grab something to drink. I only wanted a lemonade and got sort of an attitude from the person at the drive-thru window because that was all that I ordered.

If I could give this McDonald’s negative stars, then I would. This particular location is the worst in Oakland! Here is my breakdown: Pros: 1) Serves McDonald’s food 2) Helped me to stop eating McDonald’s food, so thank you! Cons: 1) Every time I come here there is always a minimum of a 30+ minute wait, regardless of what time of the day I come or what I order. I can be the only person in line or at the drive-thru, I will still have to wait for whatever it is I am ordering… and it has been something as simple as coffee. Side note: If you go through the drive-thru, you are stuck in line and can’t get out. 2) After I spend all that time waiting, guess what? The food isn’t fresh or hot… so guess what? I have to spend more time waiting on hot«fresh hot food.» What a joke. 3) The drive-thru always has beggars coming up to your car and asking for money. They are aggressive too. They will bang on your window, start yelling, and refuse to leave. There is one particular guy who stands outside of the 2nd drive-thru window and hounds you for money as you are getting your food. The last time I was there I complained about this. I refused to go to the 2nd window and demanded that they give me my food at the 1st window. The beggars are a safety issue as well as a hassle. When I spoke to the manager said that the police refuse to do anything about those guys. That is not good enough. As much money as McDonald’s makes, they should hire and enforce security for their consumers. 4) The drive-thru set up is a death trap. Once you get in, you can’t get out. I have literally been stuck for hours. Also, people can enter the drive-thru as you exit, which makes it very accident prone. I have been cut off several times as I am pulling off, as people frequently pull in without looking or they just don’t care because they are hungry zombies. In any case, make sure you are highly alert. 5) Customer service sucks. Most of the time, there is only one register open, and one person handling food in the back. In the meantime, you see other employees just standing around shooting the breeze or whatever. The person at the window isn’t friendly, and there are no apologies for you having to wait in line forever, or being harassed by the beggars as you wait. No one bothers to jump in and assist on the registers or handling the food as the crowd grows. 6) Folks that work here don’t know how to spell/read/write/understand English! I can’t tell you how many times I have had to repeat myself, because some foreigner there can’t understand or doesn’t know what I mean. Frequently the employees are walking around speaking Spanish jibberish to each other, while the rest of us are just waiting for food and trying to get some service. In addition, they often post maintenance signs up here which are grammatically incorrect. I would be embarrassed if I was the manager, but then I guess that goes to show you… 7) They often run out of essentials like soda, milkshakes, etc. What? How is this even possible? Then there are times when the soda you get tastes funny… I waited all this time just to be told that they are out of something? Then you have to wait for another 30 minutes for them to refund your money. It is almost guaranteed that the person at the register doesn’t know how to do it. They can’t be getting a good grade from the health department… Bottom line: this is absolutely the worst McDonald’s in Oakland. I won’t be coming back. The only reason that I have come in the past, it is because its location is convenient to my house and I used to stop in on my way to work. It’s not worth it. It has become unsafe, and the wait for food is insanely long-regardless of the time of day. The food isn’t even edible when you get it(I don’t even think your dog would eat it). The frustration continues to grow when you are trying to communicate with cashiers that don’t understand English. Come on! I won’t be spending my money here anymore, and you shouldn’t either.

I come here to go through drive through. It’s a McDonald closest to my house, only about 5 min from my house, and conveniently located by Home Depot. The problem with this place is that it isn’t in the best area, so no one seem to want to get out of the car. The drive through line is always long. Service can be spotty and slow sometimes. Today, I only wanted a medium iced coffee, and there were only about 3 cars. It was a quick drive through. It’s interesting that some staff here don’t really care about service at all. The cashier would not even say hello or look at my face. He took my money, didn’t say anything, and handed me the receipt without looking at my face… not that I really care, but it was just noticeable. They got my order right today, so I’m fine. Iced coffee wasn’t very good, and I realized I should have just gone over to Starbucks or Peets to get my coffee, 5 min away… doh!

Hmm surprisingly their chicken nuggets and fries were the best I’ve had in awhile from a McDonald’s. Service was alright, but whatever just make sure my order is right and the food is good. All I ask from a fast food spot.

Let’s just be honest this location is not in the best part of Oakland… I was sitting in my car getting caught up on a few things and there is just a lot of sketchy activity going on around this location. I had on more than one occasion someone walk up look right in my window and see what I was doing in my car? The first tip also is all the security people hanging around the parking lot which is probably a good thing for the customers. Once inside pretty clean McDonalds and nothing to write about. You can tell they bolt everything down in this crib for the fact it would get stolen… I was surprised however that the bathrooms at least the men’s were very clean and stocked up nicely. Just have to navigate around the homeless people going in/out. The staff was nice as well and I am sure you have to have a certain upbeat attitude to deal with some of the people in this place… I wasn’t expecting much just a hot cup of coffee and that’s what I got. Next time I might stop off at the Starbucks down the street in a safer area…

Drive thru is open 24 hours. What I didn’t like was that, there was these two guys walking through the drive through. Just because your«big truck» didn’t fit, doesn’t mean you can be ratchet and walk through the drive through. Some people in this area apparently doesn’t really think things through. Anyhow, I pulled up to the menu and what not. The screen wasn’t working and I didn’t know what my total was. Pulled up to the second window, paid, and gave me our order. Got the order right, but the guys who were walking through the driveway just stood there waiting for their order. Tip: use a small car when you don’t know how wide the drive through is.

Dammit. how is it that they decide to put a McDonald’s right next to the GYM? And there’s no avoiding it because it’s right in front of you when you exit the gym. SHAT. Luckily, I’ve been fortunate enough to drive by every time I leave the gym except Tuesday. Saw the huge sign that says«STRAWBERRYFROZENLEMONADE» and was like, «yes, please!» Especially sweating my ass off at the gym — I was in dire need of something super cold and super refreshing and the super strawberry frozen lemonade just sounded right at that time. and it was! A little on the sweet side. but also had enough lemony goodness. It definitely HIT.THE.SPOT. A small for $ 1.75. not bad!

Not that I was craving McDonalds or anything but I was just hungry and had some time to kill before an appointment in Alameda. I went through the drive through because I wanted to eat and listen to my radio. I drove in and there is a sign that says, «Please have your order ready.» Yet there is no menu board before the sign? And the menu is attached to the speaker. Poorly placed signage if you ask me. I ordered a Cheeseburger, Small Fry and a Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Burger was good. Fries sucked. But the best and most surprising part was the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. It was up there in caliber with a Jamba Juice smoothie if you ask me. Flavor wise, I don’t know about the freshness factor in regards to the fruit. I thoroughly enjoyed my smoothie more than anything. Also, they have a sign on the drive through window that said«Free WiFi». When I asked the guy if there was a password he went and asked his manager who then said that I had to be inside to use it. As I was sitting there I was gearing up my ITouch and boom I was online. No password needed. I said, «OK Thank you», and proceeded to go park in a spot out front, Unilocal, eat, and listen to the radio. Perfect lunch break if you ask me.
