Mannequin Madness

Manniquin madness is full of inanimate shells of people and staffed by very animate, creative, and service oriented real people. They were very willing to give encouragement about transforming the mannequin into art and showed examples.
I purchased a mannequin who suspends from cables to fly! She was new and wrapped. Unfortunately when I unwrapped her leg was broken! I sent an email to Judy and she responded immediately with an apology and offering a replacement. When I said I would have to cool my creative jets she said I could keep the broken one and pick up the replacement later.
Wow!
There is nothing that unlocks creativity than not having to worry about messing something up because you got it for free and can experiment! Since she didn’t have a leg to stand on she became a mermaid with the help of duct tape and bondo!
Today I will be picking up her replacement! Go to this place! They are awesome and flexible people among the stiffs!

This place was SUCH A FIND! Don’t be put off by their website, it may not be the slickest squarespace template but their service and selection was remarkable.
I needed some mannequin legs for a industrial design project — smart athletic apparel — and their guy Tracy was sooo helpful. The whole experience was top notch as they brought out different mannequin legs willingly as I weighed different options. The price was great ($ 50 for a lower body) and their customer service was second to none. They even gave me $ 5 to pay for fare getting back across the Bay Bridge since the closest ATM was actually pretty far away.
And on top of all this, they gave me two plastic feet for free!
I would and already have recommended this place to my industrial design buddies in soft goods.
*they just charged an extra $ 5 and then gave me that $ 5 in cash but still… pretty nice of them to do that.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I found what I needed but Judi was very unpleasant to deal with and pretty rude. Will not use again unfortunately

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Lots of choices since the inventory is always changing. Judi was super helpful and we found exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gently used mannequin!

I picked up a used male and female torso to display our race medals. Over the years my wife and I have acquired all these medallions and the lamp that we were hanging them on was looking a little tired. I emailed Judi to make an appointment, and she got back to me right away. After telling her what I was looking for, she was able to steer me in the right direction and provide me the best options for my budget. They have a wide selection, just give them a shout. It is worth the drive. They are kind of bulky, be sure you have a vehicle that can carry them. I also got a pair of stands to raise the torso mannequins off the ground. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

Great service, great product, great prices — what more can I say. Judi’s merchandise was well organized. She was knowledgeable and made great suggestions. We were happy to give her a check for our four used mannequins. Make a reservation.

This review is way overdue — I absolutely love this business. I was looking for a mannequin to use in an art project and found this place online. I worked with Judi to make an appointment and visited their space.
They have a pretty good selection and I liked that it wasn’t just a department store type thing — making an appointment and getting to see the mannequins alone was a nice/​personal experience.
As an art student, I was on a pretty tight budget. Judi helped me find a mannequin I could afford that fit my wants and needs. It was slightly damaged (which was not a problem for me) so she even gave me a discount. They were even nice enough to carry it to my car for me!
Great selection, great people, great prices. Nuff said.

Mannequin Madness/​Judi came to the rescue for my company. I work for an automotive aftermarket company in SoCal and we needed a specific type of mannequin, the deluxe flexible, for SEMA in Las Vegas. We only had a week before the show and Judi was prompt with responding and was awesome when it came to coordinating the production schedule with the manufacturer so that we could have it on time for the show. Amazing service. 5 stars.

We were Searching to rent a mannequin for a short film shoot we were doing and I found this place at last minute and I was really amazed by the collection they had and Judi was one of the nicest persons to deal with. Judi, one of the owners, asked questions that helped me to select a mannequin best suited for my needs. She even made suggestions that I hadn’t considered initially, but her intuitive sense of what I needed was accurate. Both owners worked with my budget constraints. I am very happy with my purchase of a Fusion mannequin. This female mannequin is in very good shape with a unique look that will complement my product line of wearable art. I even left with an unplanned purchase of a mannequin head on a stand that will be morphed into a Christmas decoration. Both Judi and Jay made my mannequin shopping experience fun. I am the Program Manager for a Fashion Program at an arts college in the bay area. Way too late into the semester I learned that the dress forms I’d ordered for our incoming class were back-​ordered, a nightmare! How was I going to deal with this problem???
Two words: Mannequin Madness. On a prayer, I called to see if MM rented dress forms. My call was returned promptly and positively. Within a couple days I received TOP quality (Wolff) forms that were in brand new condition. Students and faculty were impressed, not to mention relieved.
MM cut us a great deal on the pricing and didn’t force me to make a decision one way or another. They let their product and superior service speak for itself, and trust, their praises have been sung. I’ve joined the choir.

My friend, Will, bought a mannequin from Mannequin madness a few months ago and he highly recommended Judi and her store. I’ve been looking for mannequins for awhile because I’ve partnered up with a consignment store. The mannequins at rival stores (like the one on mission and 9^th) are overpriced, made from China, and are sh*t quality. The lady said she was going to charge me $ 250 for one that is less quality and inferior to the one Judi sold me.
I’m excited to use this in our business and will be using Mannequin madness again.

Well, All I can say is, If you want to buy a mannequin, this is the place. Be sure to take a kid with you, as the awesomely creepy feeling of repeatedly bumping into faux people is a memory-​maker. Call first – This is a mom/​pop operation with irregular hours.

Looking for a specialty item i.e. Mannequin arms can be quite a daunting task, especially if your under a tight budget. We searched Ebay, Craigslist, etc. To our amazement we discovered Mannequin Madness, which was conveniently located just over the bay bridge in Oakland. Judi promptly returned our email, was able to work around our available schedule and arranged a time to meet.
When we arrived there Judi was kind, helpful and helped us dig through an assortment of bins containing various Mannequin parts aka «The Boneyard».
Aside from being very helpful, Judi was able to accommodate our tight band budget and even cut us a great deal if we bought in bulk!
Overall, this place is gem and a viable resource for any creative venture.

ONE WORD!!! Fabulous!!!
Today a new client of ours requested we photograph some small women’s dresses for a new marketing campaign. Having researched the only bay area company who carries various mannequins in stock I proceeded to contact Mannequin Madness (Judy) to find out what they had in stock.
To my delight, Judy requested I come over to see the vast varieties they offer. She informed me that they are «By appointment only» but she could see my right away.
With keys in hand I jumped in my car and drove across the bay to Oakland. 20 minutes later I arrived to their location. I was greeted with a warm smile and when I entered their facilities, my jaw dropped. Talk about a place filled with vast varieties of mannequins.
I was introduced to Chase and handed him the dress to see which mannequin it would look its best on and he recommended the one I ended up purchasing.
The whole process took literally 10 minutes to complete and I was out the door to return to my studio to photograph the dress.
Why shop online searching for out of state mannequins when you can see all that they have to offer in their showroom and walk away with a great deal.

MM is a great resource for students (or anyone) who wants to show off their work in style. We rented three mannequins and were extremely happy with the selection, with Judi’s helpfulness, her knowledge and her enthusiasm for local fashion students. I highly recommend this business. They really want to help and see you succeed. Very easy to find location right off the freeway and they’ll accommodate your schedule.
