Getting a box here was the best move of my life! I’ve had a Po box at a UPS store once but service was awful. Here everyone is friendly, relaxed and reliable. You can also package things and use their mailing services, barely ever you’ll need to wait.
Yay for no longer being a ups hostage (waiting at home for packages) and supporting rad local businesses.

Myself and another customer waited til 9:15am then gave up and left. Store hours are either inaccurate or the person in charge was extremely late. Not a good look on a Monday morning.

This place is amazing! Best customer service you can find 40 miles around. I have been coming here for some time now and always receive the same great experience. They are very honest and always tell you what other options you may have *even if they don’t offer those options!*

I went over to the UPS place on Alcatraz, since ive always gone there. They are always rude, aggressive and unfriendly, but I thought it was my only option.
Thankfully, I discovered Mail Max. I came in with a box that I wasnt sure if I was supposed to label or put the info in an envelope. The person behind the counter was incredibly friendly, helpful and relaxed. It was the polar opposite of the UPS shop on Alcatraz.
Oh yeah, it was also $ 10 cheaper.

I went here for Notary Public services, with my partner coming in from the city so we could co-​sign a document. Their hours are posted as ending at 6 p.m. They were closed at 5:40 p.m. Very bummed.

The clerk here was super nice and friendly. There was no line (which is a plus during the holidays) and they are so much nicer than the people at USPS. I work in emeryville and live on the other side of Oakland, so the location was very convenient because it is right next to the 24. I will definitely be going back for all my shipping needs.

I had to get something notarized. The woman there did it super fast without any hassles. I also overheard her advising the woman in front of me to take something to the post office the next day because she would save a lot of money over them overnighting it for her. It’s refreshing for a business to try to save their customers money even if it results in a loss of sales for them. I will definitely come back here for future notary/​shipping needs.

I travel a lot and my new business needed a place where parcels could be accepted and stored until I retrieve them. Mail Max is so much easier to deal with than the Post Office or the UPS/​FedEx/​Kinkos Store. Parking is always easy and I can usually walk right in and get immediate help — no waiting in line. Staff are friendly and the owner is cool. They always seem willing to help me out if I have a special request. Rates are reasonable and they even have a notary service. Perfect one-​stop solution for a small biz owner.

I faxed six pages, was charged $ 7.00 that is ridiculous. Besides the $ 1 fee per page, I was charged $ 2 for their cover sheet, which is an ultra basic half sheet of paper that appear to be formatted by a blind 3 year old. Besides that the woman who helped me was professional, friendly and nice.

I went into the USPS to get a po box and they told me it would be around $ 50 a month! I couldn’t believe it! That’s as much as my storage unit! And I’d have to deal with the lines and crowds! No thanks! I found these guys online and they told me it would be $ 18/​month! Wow, big difference! I am so glad I went with Mail Max! They are so friendly, always remember my name, they even get my mail for me when I come in so I don’t have to unlock my box! Im so glad I chose to support a small business where I actually have a relationship with the people who are receiving my mail! I moved to Albany and I will stay with these guys and drive to Temescal just because of their great customer service! I would highly recommend them!

I’m happy to find a great mailing place so close to where I live! I had to send a couple of packages with tracking and the woman that helped me was super nice and helpful. They are an authorized FedEx store and it looks like they have copiers, etc.

Efficient service and friendly staff!
We went there to ship something overnight and the staff or woman behind the counter was very friendly.
She informed us of the times the package would arrive and what the best choice would be.
Her only goof was that she forgot to add the address to the package. My GF caught it and slapped on the address. Crisis averted!
The store is your basic mail box type of store. You have a copier, envelopes, etc.
If you need something sent fast, you cannot go wrong with Mail Max!
