We are a custom screen printing shop printing, t-​shirts, sweats shirts, jackets, posters, totebags, stickers and trucker hats. We can put your logo on just about anything. In house art and logo design. Quality prints at a reasonable price. Fast turnaround times. We strive to do quality work and meet your deadline.

History

Established in 1995.

Started in San Francisco south of market in 1995. The shop was forced to move to the Oakland at the end of 1999 after the dot​.com boom had over inflated the rent there. We have been in West Oakland ever since.

Business Owner

Lucky Mule’s founder Courtney C. attended college at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque NM. He studied many forms of print making there, but focused on Etching, Lithography, Mono Printing and Screen Printing. He began printing shirts for some of his friends bands for extra money, and the seeds of Lucky Mule were sown. After college he moved to San Francisco and helped form the Psychic Sparkplug in 1994 with Orion Landu, Ron Donavan, Chuck Sperry and Stew. Together this group helped launch the screen printed rock poster revival. In 1995 Courtney broke off to form what is now the Lucky Mule based in San Francisco till 1999 then moved to Oakland, CA where they still operate.

He created last minute rush order t-​shirts for me and he is reasonably priced! I would definitely recommend Lucky Mule and I will be using This awesome Dude for any future work I need!

I found Lucky Mule on Unilocal and called based on the good reviews. I was looking to have a T-​shirt made for my friend’s band, and because the project was so small, I didn’t know if anyone would be willing to do it for me. I called and spoke with Courtney, the owner. He was really friendly, told me to come by and was happy to make the shirt for me. He helped me to design the shirt based on a CD cover that I’d brought in. When the first shirt that he made wasn’t 100% perfect (one of the corners wasn’t sticking properly), he made me another one free of charge, and it looks great! If I ever have another T-​shirt printing project, I’ll definitely bring it to Courtney, and I would happily recommend him to others.

The merchandise is always what we ask for. Lucky Mule also has competitive pricing and a great selection. They are very personable and delivers with a short turnaround time.
Courtney, the owner of Lucky Mule, has a lot of experience printing and knows his ink which is a big help in receiving exactly what you want as he can make good recommendations on how the ink will contrast against the shirt colors. He is also fun to work with and very responsive, he’s local and we recommend him to other companies here in Oakland and nationwide!

I went into other screen printing places listed here on Unilocal seeking advice, but they all were to busy to help, so I looked a little more and found Lucky Mule. Super fast turn around hint: (go between December and April) and the color advice he gave me was perfect. Courtney was super helpful with awesome communication and the Tshirts came out great! Every once in awhile you meet a guy who is doing exactly what he should be doing. That’s the Lucky Mule dude, Courtney. You know this because he makes great screens, in a timely manner, acts professional, listens well, and is reasonable flexible.
The place is easy to find and the work is quality. I ordered hundreds and hundreds of shirts from him and the orders were at times complex. He gave great advice and was kind and reasonable priced.

Lucky Mule is awesome! The quality of the work is amazing. My band has done numerous shirts with these guys and everything is always perfect. I have a couple of posters they have printed hanging in my house as well. They are bad ass. The owner, Courtney, is an awesome designer and the nicest guy too. He will help you in any way you need with your screen printing job. I highly recommend!
