Lambing Dental

I’ve been seeing Dr. Lambing for 14 years. I find the practice to be most excellent– they always call to check on me when I have had work done and go out of their ways to see me if I think I need it. Helen is an outstanding hygenist (more than that really) and Trish and Rob have become good friends over the years.
More importand, every dentist this office has recommended has been outstanding.

Very disappointed with my experience here. Have been a couple of times and my impression is always that profits come first. I have no enamel on my two front teeth which requires me to have veneer/​caps to protect the tooth. The first time I went in was a few years ago, I was old enough to finally get permanent veneers put on. Dr. Lambing convinced me that my teeth were really stained and that I should get them whitened in addition to getting my new permanent veneers. I got the whitening done first so that everything would match. Two things happened: one I don’t think Dr. Lambing took into account what would happen when whitening the two front teeth without a enamel, and after the procedure I was in excruciating pain for several hours because the nerves had been overexcited or something. I had extreme shooting pains in my two front teeth that was one of the worst pains I have ever experienced. My parents called Dr. Lambing but the only thing he could suggest was waiting it out. In the end the two front veneers ended up being less white then my whitened teeth so it didn’t match anyway even though that was the whole point of getting my teeth whitened. However I liked the shape of them and felt that Dr. Lambing put more focus on aestetics than other dentists.
Fast forward a few years, I went traveling in India and had extreme pain in my front teeth because the veneers were wearing down so I had to get them fixed in India. The dentist convinced me that I would be better off with caps instead of veneers, so he drilled down my two front teeth to little stubs and put caps on. Unfortunately he did everything wrong, he put them in too deep so they irritate my gums which are now puffy and inflamed. He didn’t seal them so my teeth underneath are likely to decay. They were too big, not the right color, etc. I went to Dr. Lambing to fix them, and I brought him models of my teeth that had been done in India. Dr. Lambing said it would be better to redo my FOUR front teeth instead of just the two, to make everything look nice, coming to a total of about $ 5,000. At little out of the price range of a 24 year old student. He also didn’t offer any advice about how to fix my inflamed gums. I asked if there was anything he could do a little more in my price range, i.e. just focus on fixing the front two teeth, but his assistant informed me that he wants to do it right or not at all.
So after waiting a few months not knowing how to afford to fix my teeth, I visited Dr. Fong in San Francisco. Dr. James Fong has a complete different feel in his office. He is not profit based at all, and actually kept trying to talk me out of procedures other dentists had recommended because he said they were not necessary and expensive. Dr. Fong always thought of me and what I could afford first, and worked very well at doing things the best way possible in terms of what is covered by insurance/​what isn’t etc. He also got me an appointment with a gum specialist, and he is working with her to heal my gums (a step that Dr. Lambing neglected and that would have caused me problems had I redone my teeth without addressing my gums). What bothered me the most after all this, is that Dr. Fong was interested in seeing my molds from india so that he could use them to build my temporaries off of, and when I returned to Dr. Lambing to get them back he acted as if I had never gave them to him (although to be fair I didn’t give them to him direclty but to one of his assistants) and they have been lost. Nothing has been done to correct this or to make it up to me. When i asked to take one of the molds they had done they said no because they had paid for it so it is techincally their property. If they aren’t going to be makign money off of you everyone is rude and unhelpful and I will never be going back here again.

Yes, I’m afraid of the dentist. I have that going for me. I put off having a cracked tooth fixed for at least 5 years, chewing on only one side. Trish and Dr. Lambing never pushed me and finally I decided to do it. NO PAIN. Seriously, I can’t believe I put it off this long. In the chair at 2pm with a teeth cleaning in between crown prep and crown install. Done before 4pm. One appointment. Amazing. Crown looks great and no after pain at all. I was out to dinner by 6pm. I can’t recommend Dr. Lambing and staff highly enough. Thank you, Lambing Dental!

I have gone to Lambing Dental 2 times in the last year to get ZOOM whitening because my regular dentist is too lame to do it. Both times I have been impressed by the warmth and professionalism of Dr. Lambing’s staff as well as the comfort of the office. You can watch TV (flat screen) or listen to music while you wait out the whitening process. My results have been great both times. In fact, I am going to make Dr. Lambing my primary dentist because of my positive experiences. Stay tuned!

Dr. Lambing is a fantastic dentist with a great, super-​friendly team! High-​tech with digital radiographs, CEREC single visit crowns and laser treatments.
Dr. Lambing most recently helped me with an appliance to help with my Sleep Apnea. I wear it when I go to bed, and can finally get a good night’s sleep as it opens my airway without requiring a CPAP machine.
if you are looking for a comprehensive dentist to provide the best available care, this is your guy.

I agree with the another reviewer, this place tries way too hard to sell products and make money. It is a dental practice, so presumably should be more ‘health care provider’ than profit-​driven business. Instead, from first stepping into the place, I felt uncomfortable about the way the staff dealt with me, made recommendations lightly about this & that additional (MAJOR/​EXPENSIVE) services I could use. In contrast, just a year earlier (I came in only for a cleaning, with no tooth pain or any other problems– I floss & brush regularly etc) my previous dentist had made no such suggestions. Dr Lambing himself seems ok in general, although again there’s something about him that made me ill at ease also (he was sweating a lot and his hands shake). Overall, not a good experience and I will not be back. PS Their follow up is very aggressive. They’ve called and left messages four times in just a couple weeks to ‘remind’ me that my next check-​up is due. Plus they sent a snail mail reminder.

My family went to this dentist for a few years. He did a really good job on cleaning, crowns… his work was very good. Over two years his prices increased substantially and after doing research (after getting a huge bill for some dental work) I found him to be much more expensive than my new dentist located in piedmont (another high end dentist).
I also got frustrated by the level of upselling in the practice. I once mentioned that I was interested in invisilign and every time I came into the office I had someone bring it up. On the second time this happened I asked to have a note placed in my file that i was not interested in this service, but I still got the marketing pitch on the benefits.
After both me and my mother got a series of large bills we switched dental practices.

I had not been to the dentist for about 7 years (yes embarrasing and shamefully so) I’ve always disliked going to the dentist and had a tough experience trying to find one while I was up here for college at Cal so I was very weary looking for a new dentist.
Dr. Lambing’s office is amazing– the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. He is very precise and takes much focus in his work– I know I haven’t been to the dentist in a long time but I was very impressed by the technology they had. X-​rays for the teeth were quick and they took photos of the cavities so you can see exactly what they looked like. They took an after shot so you can see how it looks.
The best thing was that although I was a bit numb from the numbing shot, he said I could eat or drink right after. They meld the cavity in and so you don’t have to worry about it. My two front teeth were chipped and he fixed it so quickly.
What I like best is that they were able to break the appointments down in less than 1 hr (I had 5 cavitiies and the two front teeth to be smoothed out). I had 3 appointments, which I think this works for you or doesn’t but I work close by and it is SO helpful to just go in for a bit and get out and come back. The last one took only 20 mins! :)
The dental hygienists are so helpful and make sure you’re not choking or swallowing all of that nasty dental stuff. I had a bit of a tough time on my 2^nd appointment but Dr Lambing was very aware and made sure I was as comfortable as could be.
Random note, Dr. Lambing kind of looks like Peter Griffin from Family Guy but he is SUPER awesome and nice and a great dentist. You can tell he is a perfectionist but that is definitely what you need in a dentist!
They also offer Invisiline and are helpful with questions.
I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Wow, I knew the place was good when the only complant I had was a little too much «soft rock» on the office sound system, James Taylor, Starship et al. Suppose Green Day or Nine Inch Nails could be disconcerting as your grill gets probed.
Top notch from the Dentist to the receptionist and all stages in between. I had not had a dental visit in three years. They took photos of my fillings to have on record in case they go sideways, checked my gums then cleaned my teeth for 40 minutes as if I was a motivational speaker or a TV anchor. They got after it and did a great job. My grill feels great again.
Not much guilt either directed towards this lapsed flosser. Clean office, impressive from top to bottom. If you have been putting off a dental checkup or want to get back into a regular maintenance program this is the office for you.

Dentists have always been the least favorite people in my life. At an early age they were yanking shards of teeth from my mouth because of some crazy stunt I tried. Ahhh memories. But this all came to an end with Dr. Lambing and his staff. The office is immaculate, well set up, and very professional. From the dental assistants up to Dr. Lambing himself everyone is always attentive, polite, highly skilled, and thorough. The latter being something I consider almost as important in a dentist as his or her various skills, because let’s face it no matter how good they are if they don’t get into all the nooks and crannies your teeth are still going to fall out.
So if you want the best this is where you will find it. In addition to having my teeth cleaned here they have perfected my smile with various techniques over the past 5 years. I know it will sound like I have or had some crazy grill but in order to give the most thorough review possible here are the treatments I have received. Each has always turned out perfectly.
1. Cleaning
2. Crowns
3. Whitening
4. Invisalign
I couldn’t ask for anything more at the end of each of these treatments. And for real my mouth wasn’t as messed up as it sounds! Just needed to go over some work from the original dentists that had put the fear of death in me originally haha…
