One of the first things My husband and i agreed on for the wedding was we wanted to support our friends and their businesses. It was the best decision we ever made (besides getting married) Working with vendors you know and trust made planning so much less stressful! I had no doubt in my mind that working with Racheal was going to be nothing short of amazing and it really was. She did such an incredible job capturing our day that was filled with so much love and emotion, i could feel it in each one of our photos. I am truly thankful and grateful for her guidance, patience with our crazy family /​friends and amazing talent! Racheal and her staff were professional and kind. If you ever need a photographer to capture the memories you want to keep forever i highly recommend Lady of Light Photography! I would give her a million stars if Unilocal had that option

I would give Rachael ten stars if I could, she is that amazing! I had a ridiculous list of pictures that I wanted taken, but instead of refusing or just telling me what I wanted to hear and not doing it, she listened, went through my schedule with me and explained my options and prioritized everything so that we could add more if time permitted. She also recommended a second photographer to make sure I had all the pictures I wanted and she was able to get them from different angles — all within my price range (which she was also willing to work with me on). The results were phenomenal. Not only did she get the ones that were really important to me, she went above and beyond and showcased her skills and vision as a photographer by adding more with her own touch. I couldn’t have asked for more. She’s just a pleasure to work with, loves what she does, and cares for the people she works with and it shows. We spoke with several photographers and no one’s book and service blew us away as much as hers. She came highly recommended and now I know why. She’s the best.

Racheal is awesome. I did some research before choosing a photographer for our October wedding and was impressed with her pictures as well as her prompt responses to my questions, we communicated mostly via e-​mail which worked perfectly for me. Since we had not met her before we decided to do an engagement shoot and she is someone you automatically feel comfortable with (this coming from someone who is pretty shy in general). Our engagement pictures turned out great and she had them done and up in a gallery for us faster than we expected. Then on our wedding day, she was at the venue before we were, scoping out the locations for shots. She was very professional and made sure we got all of the shots we wanted and our wedding pictures turned out AMAZING. She (and the 2^nd photographer) captured the day perfectly. To quote my sister, «they look like they are straight out of a magazine.» We will definitely use Lady of Light Photography in the future!

More than a photographer, Rachael is an artist. Her eye for the use of light is exquisite. We did our session in Piedmont Park where Rachael took the time to scout in advance. Several locations proved to produce beautiful results, some of which are as much of an art piece as a family portrait. In short, we love it. Rachael is a sweet, personable person that we enjoyed working with very much.

Racheal was a pleasure to work with for our wedding, and I would recommend her fully! She is very detailed and scopes out your event locations prior to the day of in order to find the best possible locations for pictures. She really understands how to use the natural light to make her photographs unique and beautiful. Nothing ever felt over-​posed and she was able to make sure that in all my husband’s pictures he looks calm and relaxed, which he wouldn’t normally be (he doesn’t like being the center of attention). She really understands and captures the moment of the 2 people getting married — which really is the most important part. :)

Racheal was great to work with throughout the whole wedding reception. My wife and I had her photograph our reception in California (we got married in Germany), and she did a great job with both the photographs and the post-​production editing. She also worked pretty fast to get us everything from our October reception by the holidays. And she also was able to work with us, despite some family drama during the photography sessions. Overall, very professional, and easy to get along with.
If we ever have another need for a photographer in the Bay Area, we will definitely have Racheal again!

Racheal photographed my wedding last April in Sacramento. She was amazing to work with. She went out of her way to meet with us in Sacramento prior to the wedding and worked within our budget. During the wedding she remained relaxed and patient amongst a horde of small children and unorganized adults. The photos turned out incredible. Racheal is greatly dedicated and passionate about what she does and it really shows. I highly recommend her and am excited to hire her again for future events and family portraits.

Racheal is an outstanding photographer! She exceeded our expectations with the entire experience and final results with our photos. We first booked an engagement session with Racheal because we wanted to know if she’d be right for our wedding. We wanted someone professional and with experience who can take a mixture of artistic, portrait and candid photos to capture our wedding day. After doing our engagement session photos, we were convinced she was the right photographer.
She did a magnificent job throughout our grueling 12+hr wedding day! We had one of those long traditional asian weddings where I picked up the bride at 8am, drove back to the parents house for a tea ceremony, then to the chapel for a western ceremony, somehow managing to squeeze in a couple hours of city photos, and finally to the restaurant for an 8 course banquet And Racheal didn’t skip a beat with the quality of our photos!
I really liked how she took a mixture of artistic, portrait and candid shots. The photos really captured the mood, the moments and romantically retold our wedding day from beginning to end. She had lots of great ideas on where to take our city photos and how to pose our wedding party. Amazing photos of our entire wedding!

My situation was a little different as I was planning a destination wedding. My fiancé and our familes traveled from Texas to get married in Pacifica. As a somewhat disorganized bride I did not start searching for a photographer until the middle of May (our wedding date was 08÷08÷08) I found Racheal’s sight while searching for photographers. I was immediately impressed by her pictures and her innovative style. She responded promptly with a comprensive price list with all her available packages. Racheal was very flexible, she let me customize our photography package to suit our needs. One of the many things that impressed me the most was how organized Racheal was. She did a fantastic job of staying on top of things. She communicated by e-​mail and regular mail all the neccesary details. Even when I was not doing a good job of staying organized, she continued to follow up with me. I am so grateful for her help.
As we arrived in Pacifica Racheal offered to make the drive down three days before the wedding… she wanted to personally meet with us and also to take a look at the venue. On the day of the event, Racheal was on time (actually early). Basically we described to her the type and style of pictures we wanted and let her do her thing. Our pictures turned out PERFECT! They were exactly how we described. She did a great job of capturing the moment but we never felt that we were rehearsed. OUr families are still talking about her talent and wonderful personality. I have to say that the entire experience was PERFECT! In addition her prices are more than reasonable… she photographed our entire day and evening for a great price and her online pictures are very reasonably priced. If you select her for your photographer, I promise you will not be dissapointed!

We decided at the last minute that we wanted a professional photographer for our wedding. The minute I saw Racheal’s web site, I knew that this was the photographer we were looking for. As a professional photographer myself, I saw how she incorporated traditional and candid shots with her beautiful artistic vision. She did not disappoint. She captured exactly the right moments, yet we hardly knew she was there. She captured the spirit of the San Francisco City Hall same-​sex wedding celebration and the emotion and seriousness during our ceremony.
Between Critical Mass delaying family and another dear friend delayed by a train, things did not go as smoothly as planned. Racheal kept her calm which kept everyone else calm. She took some incredible spontaneous photographs while we were waiting for everything to fall into place. One of our favorite photos was a streak of motion when our friend finally ran in at the last possible moment as the rest of us were standing still. She did a fabulous job with our traditional family shots, and her artistic vision also produced sophisticated images.
Racheal is extremely professional, returned my call immediately, and I liked her warm and reassuring personality. She checked in with us the day of the ceremony to ask if we had any last minute requests. We received our images in less than a week, which was well beyond our expectations. Everyone who has seen our album is blown away by her work.
We highly recommend Racheal to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding or event photographer.

Rachel is a very easy going person, which is so important when you’re working with a photographer. She’s very creative and it’s obvious that she loves what she’s doing. If you’re booking a wedding she will work with you to get a price that you’re comfortable with.
There are a lot of cheesy wedding photographers out there but Rachel has more of a natural, editorial style. I always think that editorial style wedding photos stand the test of time better than stiff, posed photos.
