History

Established in 2006.

Kara Sigler has been seeing clients out of her office in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2006. She has taught herbal medicine for over 10 years. Kara currently teaches clinical herbal programs at the California School for Herbal Studies in Laytonville and at Ancestral Apothecary in Oakland. Kara is registered as a Professional Herbalist through the national organization, the American Herbalist Guild.

Kara makes individualized herb formulas for clients in her apothecary, and she has a line of herbal products Herban Elixirs. Www​.sfherbal​ist​.com

Kara was certified in 2005 by the Ohlone Herbal Center in Berkeley, CA as a Clinical Western Herbalist. Through her further studies, Kara also incorporates Ayurvedic pulse and tongue assessment into her sessions, as well as bodywork, nutritional consulting, and energetic counseling.

Kara’s personal relationship with the plants forms the foundation of her herbal practice. Her wholistic approach to health takes into account the way we nurture ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Stress affects us on all of these levels, breaking down our bodies’ defenses, leading to imbalance and dis-​ease.

Health begins with what we take into our bodies and our environment. Ever wonder how stress and digestion are related?
