Hello, I have been going to Jayn Rajandran for a while now. Actually from April 2014. I believe her teachings and understanding of subject is amazing. Let me tell you about myself and my story: I have been married for 13 years, recently divorced and have 2 minor kids. I am a victim of 11 years domestic violence and was beaten every other month by ex-​husband. I am Indian
I was working with another therapist and made the decision to try a more direct method. I decided to empower myself and came to Dr. Jayn, who is not only my mentor, my teacher, my strength and the way she changed life is if I look back I wish I have met her 10 years ago! Her practice and teachings changed my entire life. I am no longer crying at the time about my situation. I am no longer an emotional mother. I am no longer sticking to just house related matters. The changes has been in my career, personal, financial, and health. I made great changes in my career and have made steady career progression, I am enjoying my life completely, and I have no time for BS any longer.
If you are a woman who wants to make changes, this is definitely the therapist for you. Only go to her if you are willing to start taking responsibility and listen to Jayn. With her help, I have decided that a better way for me to move forward will be to give up the custody to my ex and work on my self instead. With her encouragement, I applied for many business schools and gained acceptance. With her kicking me out of my comfort zone, .am now going to a top level school for my MBA nd even was able to work for a top level government agency. I can’t tell you how much happier I am for getting my life back.
Recently, I stated to date again. I had a chance to either stay back or go to Vegas with 3 guys, my decision was made with help of Jayn’s opinion. I went to Vegas with 3 Italian men and I cannot express how great it feels to move on in life again, in the romantic realm.
Also, she helped me so much with my 2 insurance companies and gave me so much of discount to help with payments. She gave me an installment payment plan so I am able to make the payments on a monthly basis and make ends meet.
I did read the reviews on the 3 people. C’mon guys. Please stop talking crap and nonsense about her or anybody else, look into itself and change yourself, not by putting somebody down. That means u do not want to change. My story is much more painful than what I said here but all I can say is, my current new life is because of this knowledgeable woman. … Come out of ur comfort level and I hope u stop bitchy about her.

Jayn has been providing therapy to me for almost two years now. Her work with EMDR is amazingly beneficial. I really don’t understand the negative reviews (everyone’s experience may vary, I guess) — personally, I have found Jayn most accommodating and not at all controlling or condescending. She has helped me to discover my own innermost thoughts and feelings, by asking great questions and then leading me through the EMDR on those. I feel validated and empowered by that approach, and I have learned a lot about how to recognize my own impulses non-​judgmentally. At one point, she hinted that I might be ready to graduate, but I get so much out of this that I don’t think I’ll ever want to quit.

Hi Everyone! Guess what? Today is my Jayn Rajandran therapy graduation day! Before I began officially pursuing therapy, in 2014 I interviewed a dozen therapists. Many of them were good at making soft, sympathy eyes, nodding, and saying «yes, yessss. I see you are carrying a lot, mmmhmm…» (Uhh, no shit sherlock!) Jayn was the only therapist I interviewed who, in the very first session, laid some bold insights and radical jive on me, without holding anything back. This is why I chose her. I knew I had a ton of work to do, if I wanted to get better. I also knew I didn’t have much money, and wanted to make sure that the sacrifices I was making to my wimpy non-​profit paycheck, were going to pay for themselves later on. I didn’t want to be coddled, or have someone just blandly reflecting back to me what I already know. (Besides, I’m kind of cocky, and well-​versed in armchair psychobabble.) Jayne gave me homework assignments. She got me to meditate and keep a dream journal. Jayn is not for lazy-​asses! She will make you work hard, but if you stick with her, and do the work, it will pay off a thousand times and more. When I walked into her door in 2014, I was having panic attacks, insomnia, and strange avoidant behaviors due to some earlier traumas I’d experienced. Now, I have learned valuable tools I can use when my brain derails into darkness – in short, Jayn gave me the greatest gift a therapist can give: teaching me how to be my own therapist. Yay! I third RK’s review. Jayn is judgmental, and unprofessional. I don’t believe she realizes how catty and condescending she really is, cloaking her coldness under a veil of tough love. I met her as a partner in a couples counseling session (she was working with my boyfriend at the time). I’m no newcomer to therapy and was looking forward to doing some of the hard work associated with growth and communication, but I walked out of her session feeling invalidated and attacked. She breaks you apart and puts you down.
After knowing me for only 15 minutes, she belittled the modalities used by my own personal therapist (whom I absolutely adore and have been seeing for 6 months), saying, «when you see her next, ask her when the treatment is ACTUALLY going to start.» She insisted I find a different practitioner to meet with 3 times a week because «I lack the skills to be in a serious relationship». I can’t go into further details here, but the second she said to me «you need to stop thinking like a woman,» I knew it was hopeless. 50 minutes with her undid 1 year of trust-​building (not to mention 100 years of feminism and anti-​hysteria-​shaming) and was destructive to our already fragile relationship. Jayn mismanaged our needs, painting with broad, harsh brush strokes and being overly prescriptive.
If your life is a mess and you really need a drill sergeant to knock some sense into you, Jayn is your girl. If you need a therapist who tells you what to do instead of helping you strengthen your own muscles, Jayn is your girl. If you need someone to speak for you and confront your loved ones because you can’t articulate these issues on your own, Jayn is your girl. But for all other matters of the heart like the soft underbelly of romantic relationships, steer clear. I get she’s trying to get us to see how we stir our own sh*t so we can go on to lead fruitful lives, but her delivery was abrasive to me. Personally, I wouldn’t trust her to create a safe, healing space that honors your willingness to be vulnerable or admit brokenness.

I second RK’s review. In addition, I find her controlling, manipulative and untrustworthy. She had let it known in more ways than one how full her practice is. And yet she has the time to want me to come in 3 times a week. She also threatened to cancel sessions if I do not come in as often as she wants. I also asked for a discount on her fees because she had a sliding scale and she wanted me to come very often. Again, she threatened to not want to work with me. Her views about men in relationships are also not very kind and loving.
Maybe she will change her tactics when she reads this review and not do it to you. But there will be other ways her sense of being will come out. I want to become a better person in order to have better relationships. She tears rather than mends relationships. I don’t like giving reviews much less bad reviews. But be aware and beware, I just don’t think putting your subconscious mental state to a person who is not so ‘healthy’ herself is a safe thing to do.

Jayn was such a great find as a friend had recommended I do EMDR treatment for some fear and anxiety issues I was facing. Jayn was very accommodating with my scheduling needs and was able to start my treatments right away. My overall treatment process took 6 months wherein we covered a variety of major topics I’ve struggled with during my life. I am very pleased with how efficient Jayn is with the EMDR therapy. Overall, my therapy has removed the intensity of emotions and reactions I used to feel in life, so now I am able to simply live and be happy without carrying the burden of anxiety and fear. Jayn was amazing at guiding my therapy to allow me to discover things for myself. I would recommend Jayn and EMDR therapy to anyone that may be facing similar struggles.

I was recommended to Jayn by one of my friends. I was looking for a therapist and her name just fell into my lap. I am very glad I went to see her. I was seeing her on and off for the better part or a year, and still reach out to her when I need. Jayn is very empathetic as well as stern. She doesn’t sugar coat things-​Instead she gives you tools to help you succeed, take care of yourself, and meet your goals. She has helped me in so many ways, I am very grateful! I highly recommend her ;)

I did not have a good experience with this person. If anything, she made the situation worse. She did not act like a professional. Her kindness is a façade. She is very condescending and acts like she has no issues of her own. I do not recommend this person. She gives horrible advice that can tear families apart rather than trying to help mend them, Beware.

I reached out to Jayn because I was feeling lost and hopeless. She closely listened to my problems, and helped me understand why I was in such a bad point in my life and feeling depressed. She is understanding, but didn’t take it easy on me. She told me things that were hard to hear, but I needed to hear them. Her suggestions were a good dose of reality. During the first session she helped me get motivated and told me concrete things that I needed to do. 6 months later, after completing everything I needed to do, she immediately gave me a knew goal which will greatly help me in a life that keeps getting better and better. I feel like a totally different person since talking to Jayn, and all I had was two sessions of 1 hour each over the phone. Get the advice you need and seek Jayn’s help.

I felt lost and came to Jayn in search of answers. Jayn was able to meet me in the midst of conflict. She journeyed with me through the dark areas, and provided guidance for the times in which I felt I had no support. She understands relationships and helped me heal the relationships in my life.
Jayn was very accommodating and always made sure that I was comfortable. Her Oakland office is easy to get to from Bart. I recommend Jayn if you need some one to walk with you through your crisis.
