Jan Florist

I used Jan Florist for my wedding (9−5−15) and had a great experience. We met Jo in person and she sat down with us and took notes on exactly what we wanted. I also showed her pictures. She was very quick with her email and responses as well! Getting in touch with her was not a problem at all. The prices were great and extremely reasonable!
The flowers were delivered on time and everything was just as we asked! My bouquet was beautiful! White and light pink roses with a bit of babies breath and my bridesmaids had babies breath with one open pink rose in each. I had so many compliments on my bouquet!
I was hesitant to use them after reading the previous reviews, but my experience was honestly nothing but wonderful and I would be happy to recommend and use this florist again!

I had a wonderful experience using Jan’s florist for my wedding June 6, 2015! I live about an hour and 15 mins from Oakland and where I was getting married so I was anxious when it came to finding certain vendors, like a florist. I stumbled across Jan’s florist and stopped in and met Jo. After talking to a few other places, Jo was a fresh of breath air. She knew exactly what I was talking about and even showed me examples that were spot on. She was available to meet with my husband and I whenever was convenient with us and she made it clear we could call her whenever and never made it seem like we were bothering her! We ended up ordering our suits from them as well and the men looked so great! The day of the wedding she sent a sample picture to make sure I liked what she had done. It exceeded my exceptions and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the bouquets and other floral arrangements she did.
I became anxious when I read reviews on Unilocal but I am so happy I didn’t pay too much attention because Jo was amazing with her expertise and sweet natured personality made it so enjoyable working with her!

I got married about 20 minutes away from Jan’s Florist location, however I live an hour and 20 minutes away. I was very nervous about ordering everything over the phone but I was assured things would be perfect, and they were! I ordered a large natural looking bouquet with sunflowers and purple accent flowers and 6 smaller versions for my bridesmaids, all wrapped in burlap. I got exactly what I asked for. I also ordered 7 boutonnière that Jo suggested I use a Viking mum for, since the sunflower would be too large. Somehow there was a problem with the Viking mums so she made sure to find daisies that resembled the sunflowers almost exactly, just on a smaller level. She delivered the flowers on time and to two different locations (bouquets to one and boutonnières to another) without complaint. I would highly recommend Jan’s Florist to anyone getting married near her location, she was very friendly and wonderful to work with! Thank you!

Jo was fantastic to work with for our 4^th of July wedding! I live in Texas and was able to easily work with her from a long distance. Thanks to pinterest I was able to show her exactly what I wanted and she delivered perfection! Thank you Jo and Jan Florist for making our day truly magical!

These people ruined my wedding. Stay as far away as you possibly can. The flowers weren’t even close to what in ordered. They were also missing so many. My cake was very simple and were to have flowers on it and they FORGOT to send those flowers. They have been unreachable and will not refund the money even for the things they didn’t deliver. STAY AWAY.

I used Jan florist for my wedding because they said they could do exactly what I wanted for $ 300 less than the florist I usually use. Well, there was my first mistake. I couldn’t believe the price and checked several times to make sure the florist was exactly sure of what I wanted. I gave her pictures of the exact bouquet I wanted and told her I wanted that exact bouquet, only downsized a bit because I am a small person. The bouquet I received looked NOTHING like the picture I gave her. I had asked for a cascade bouquet… no cascade. The bouquet I picked was all white roses except for strands of purple orchids. There were 2 baby blue orchids (no other orchids), mauve??? MAUVE??? roses (from a picture of an all white rose bouquet, they thought they were mauve?), I had asked for peacock feathers specifically placed in the bouquet and they were just haphazardly thrown in. That was my bouquet. I wound up adding my own flowers from my yard to it to make it even match my wedding.
I asked for loose flowers for the cake… none were even delivered. Again, took clippers to my own flowers the day of my wedding
I asked for orchids on all the boutonnieres. This didn’t happen, they were only roses, but thank god for that on account of the baby blue orchids (my wedding was dark purple!). The hair combs (supposed to be purple orchids) came in light blue. Tried them on the girls and OMG looked awful with the dark purple dresses, so I ripped the orchids off (half of which were already falling off) and glued my own flowers on again. (can you imagine me in my wedding dress with my glue gun and my snippers? ha. What a nightmare)
Tried to save some money on the centerpieces by using gladiolas for submerged centerpieces instead of orchids… told the florist I needed to let the sand settle and she said she’d make sure I had the glads 2 day in advance. That didn’t happen. I got the purple ones 2 days in advanced, but they hadn’t opened yet and were green sticks. She. gave. me. green. sticks. instead of purple flowers. So after some panicked telephone calls she told me how to get them to open in time… and it didn’t work. The glads were in full bloom 2 days after the wedding. Totally unhelpful. My own flowers got the chop AGAIN. (thank got that between myself and my aunt we happened to have a lot of dark purple flowers in our yards: P) The white glads I ordered came in the evening before the wedding (so I was up til 2 am doing centerpieces), however, at least they were blooming?
Jeesh. My advice… they are very nice people and act like they will roll over on the floor to make you happy for a low price… DONT FALL FOR IT. this experience was just awful. Pay a little more for someone you trust to do your flowers.
