Good food, inexpensive, friendly staff. Okay, it looks like you having breakfast at a gas station… What do you expect?

They don’t like customers coming in late at night. They useally turn the grill off an hour or longer before close and just apologize and say they didn’t think any one would be coming in late. What’s the point of being open until 12 if your going to turn away business for the last 2 hours. This has happened more than once. This place is anti customer late at night. I used to go there a lot when we realized our bussiness was not wanted we stopped going.

This chain location has two lovely women on staff that try very hard to please everyone. Unfortunately the food quality is not up to a Denny’s or similar Waffle House. The mashed potatoes were powdered instant, the gravy also from a dry mix and the chopped steak was covered in canned mushrooms. Sides are optional choices. I don’t expect gourmet food at a gas station but a complete meal for only $ 4.99 while a burger is at $ 7.29 shows someone at the corporate or franchise level is not paying attention to the menu pricing. Only 9 stores are corporate. Most are franchises with just one or two restaurants. The iced tea was fresh brewed and very good. Even Perkins doesn’t do this anymore. Note: Stick with breakfast and you’ll be fine.

This is not a 4 star restaurant. Let that be clear. I gave Huddle House a 4 star rating as a diner. This place is a step above Waffle House but a step below IHOP. The food is your average diner cuisine; breakfasts, burgers, milkshakes, and meat &3 platters. The pricing is very affordable; one could eat the most expensive dish on the menu with a drink, desert, and leave a generous tip and still get change back for a 20. The servers are quick and attentive and fit right into the diner experience. So all in all if you are looking for a great American diner experience in Oakland, TN then this is the place to go.

Yum! Really good eggs, lots of cheddar cheese, just the way I like it. I hate when I pay extra for cheese and you can barely tell it is there. Hash browns were tasty and service was good. Waffle was a little soggy, not crisp, but it had a good flavor. I will be back just for the eggs!
