Hazara Oriental Rug Gallery did a fabulous job of hand washing my antique oriental rug. I picked it up today and it looks beautiful. The price was reasonable, they did the job in the time frame that they anticipated, and they contacted me as soon as the rug was ready. Mr. Zavvar is a pleasure to work with. A great experience.

I’ve been collecting hand knotted rugs for a few years and they give me so much pleasure, and I spread the gospel to anyone who will listen. Antique and vintage rugs have definitely been part of my home, so I feel extremely confident to recommend Mohammad Zavvar and his family owned business that has been in the same place on College Avenue in Oakland for over 40 years.
Going into Hazara Gallery is not just going to buy a rug. It’s really an education and an Museum-​like experience. The owner will spend time with you explaining the rug’s history, where it was made etc., that enables you to understand that you’re not just buying a rug, but really a work of art for your floor.
They are not just into selling you a rug, as in other stores, but wanting you to get what you really want. Also since its his own business they don’t work on a commission, so you are paying just for the rug and the excellent service they provide.
Prices are really good, and reasonable.
