Harry Lin, DDS

My whole family sees Dr. Lin now and I was the last hold out up until last year or so. But the location is very convenient to Lake Merritt Bart Station and Chinatown. The staff there are friendly and so is Dr. Lin. The dental hygienists do a good job of cleaning your teeth and that part isn’t my favorite except for when they are finishing up. Dr. Lin gives good advice and let’s you decide whether you want a procedure done or not, whether it is needed or necessary. He always try to give you practical advice and wants to save your teeth, if at all possible.

I love how hospitable, inviting and warm Dr. Lin and his staff are. They do their best to provide such great care. I don’t think anyone ever wakes up and says, «I’m glad to be going to the dentist today. Yay!,» but ever since I started seeing Dr. Lin, he makes the experience a very pleasant one. He is a charismatic man who is genuinely very passionate about his line of work. I love that he takes the time to make conversation and gets to know his patients. Plus, I love how he never ceases to impart some wisdom pertaining to life upon each appointment I have with him. A huge thank you to Dr. Lin and his amazing staff for providing such great quality care!

Dr Lin and his staff provide the best care I have ever experienced. My family and I have been in Dr Lin’s care for almost 15 years and have not once experienced anything less than exemplary from him. I have seen staff come and go but all of them have been wonderfully courteous and friendly and knowledgeable. Dr Lin himself is an incredibly charismatic and knowledgeable man who is genuinely interested in his patients and their well-​being. He is also amazingly quad-​lingual who is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish.
I admit I have actually worked in this office for about a year so I know the staff pretty well. Everyone is very friendly and work together very well, almost like family. I always feel incredibly at ease and at home when I come in to get my teeth checked.
The office is very clean and light. I know the biggest concern for healthcare is sanitation and I am proud to say that Dr Lin’s office takes great care in cleaning all of their tools and work stations. I have also worked in other dental offices and I can confidently say that nothing compares to Dr Lin’s office when it comes to sanitation.
I love that they always give you a toothbrush and a travel-​sized toothpaste after each cleaning and do not bug you about making appointments when you don’t want to come in. Two other dentists also work in this office who are equally knowledgable and speak both Cantonese and English.
Overall I highly recommend this dental office for anyone seeking a new dentist or just in the area for any kind of emergency treatment.

Dr. Lin is one of the most skilled, honest, and personable dentist I have known. He gives the best care. He helps you make the most intelligent choice of treatment using his professional knowledge and common sense to attain cost effectiveness. What really matters is that he cares about your well-​being. That makes him one of the best!

Dr. Lin is one of the better Dentist’s I’ve ever seen over the years. I believe he is honest and doesn’t over prescribe treatment. I went in for a first exam and where other dentists wanted to cap my chipped molar (which already and an inlay) Dr. Lin suggested just a custom larger side filling which he installed with great expertise and it’s been fine the last 7 months — a much more desirable treatment in that most of the original tooth is still in use. I believe the other dentist just wanted to «sell» me the cap because it’s more expensive and profitable. Not Dr. Lin. he suggested just what was needed, no more no less.
Dr. Lin takes time to explain things and his dental hygienist is really good too, she is very thorough and takes her time to get it right. 4.5 star rating.
The only reason it’s not 5 star is I think if the office had more updated digital equipment I’d be really really impressed!

Dr. Harry Lin has been my dentist for 10 years so I guess it’s about time to share my experience over the years. In short, Dr. Lin is positive, pleasant, warm, gentle, caring, entertaining, and skillful. He really knows his stuff well and execute with confidence. I never worry about anything (i.e. pain, procedure scheduled…) walking into the office, whether I was doing a filling, root canal, etc. I didn’t even know I have this confidence in him until now that I’m writing this review! Sometimes he also tells you if what he is about to do will hurt but they aren’t painful most of the time, just a sting or you might not feel a thing.
I also like that the office gives you a courtesy call the day prior to remind you of your appointment as I did forget a couple of times.

Dr. Harry Lin wonderful & everything you want in a dentist. He’s a warm, intelligent, and skilled doctor. Probably because of his great personality, he surrounds himself with excellent people too. Every technician, front desk staff, & other dentist is smart, skilled & kind. They actually CARE about customer service!
I absolutely love this office & can’t recommend this gem in Oakland’s Chinatown enough.
