I used to be a wax typa girl until I ventured into the wondrous world of threading in SoCal a couple months ago. Getting my eyebrows threaded that first time converted me for life, and I’ve been trying to find a reputable salon to go to for all my threading needs in Oakland. I stumbled upon this little gem thanks to Unilocal,and stopped by spontaneously because my eyebrows had been growing haphazardly and needed some cleaning up pronto. I was super excited because all the Unilocal reviews looked promising, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! I think Swasti was the one who helped me. Super quick and gentle, relaxing aura about her. I had her thread my upper lip last minute and she did it quick and seamlessly! My brows have never been this perfect. After the ordeal, she applied aloe vera gel to my brows and lip area to soothe.
HIGHLY reasonable prices — $ 6 + $ 5 for eyebrows and upper lip, respectively. A brow wax elsewhere would cost more, and without the level of meticulousness and detail. This hole-​in-​the-​wall establishment is now going to be my regular salon whenever I need to treat myself a bit.

I came on a Friday at 4:00pm and luckily I was able to sit down to start my thread immediately. The lady that helped me was named Swasti. She did an amazing job. I have been to many threading salons and this is the best place so far. She even trimmed my brows and plucked the remaining hairs. When she gave me the mirror at the end, there was no remaining hairs that she needed to correct. Other places, I usually have to end up asking them to fix this or that.
Great job Swasti– she said she works Thursday’s and Friday’s.

I been a number one customer since the moment they opened. I found them on groupon it was a $ 6 deal to get your eyebrows threaded it was a great deal since other places charge $ 15 and up. I decided to give them a try and I have been a loyal customer every 2 weeks. I ONLY go with Sangrita she is the owner. No parking

I dropped in because I live relatively close to here not knowing what to expect, and I will say, Usa did an AMAZING job. I have bushy eyebrows that I love to keep thick but nicely shaped, and Usa totally listened to my desire to keep them such — and made them look fantastic! For cheap, too … only $ 6. I’ll definitely be back, and tell everyone I know that this is a little gem in East Oakland.

Tiny little place for threading whether it is for your eyebrows, lip, or face. I am a regular customer and love getting my eyebrows done here. Not only do they do an awesome job, it is also very reasonable price only at $ 6 (eyebrow). Only street parking so bring some change to feed the meter.

After years and years of going to Benefit brow bar, I decided to look for something closer and more cost efficient (plus they are always booked and/​or don’t have anyone working). This place is down the street from my house. I was a bit iffy about the location and the way it looked. but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Let me just say that I walked out of there a very happy customer. I trusted her with threading my eyebrows (after a bad experience elsewhere) and she tinted my eyebrows as well. She did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I was a little nervous going somewhere new and with my patchy eyebrows. But! Woah! Glad I listened to the reviews and went in today. I went around 3pm and there was no wait. She asked clean up? I said yes not too thin and they came out really nice. I think next time I’ll ask for more shape since I trust her now!
I was in and out with threaded brows in tops five minutes. Kind of a funny spot but everyone was friendly and you can always get bomb Mercian food after.

Everywhere else I’ve been costs 20 $ it’s a joke. Rip off. It’s just thread! It’s in a dinky area but worth the time and money. Your not going to find this price anywhere else!

I seriously don’t understand how I haven’t written a review for my darling dearies at the Eyebrow Queen yet but please forgive thou. I absolutely love Camila and Swasti, the adorable sisters responsible for providing expert custie service and unsurpassed threading skills. I first embarked upon my newfound threading journey as the result of a Groupon but have become a die-​hard fan of their work. Moving with the grace of a ballerina (minus the anorexia and chain-​smoking), these ladies whip my haggard caterpillars into shape and allow me to leave the shop feeling like a divine thang. Their threading job is like none I’ve ever seen and I have absolutely never left disappointed or feeling like they did a less than perfect job. Unlike my old brow broad who legit wouldn’t listen to me when I explained that I wanted something corrected or done differently, Camila and Swasti take the time to listen to their customers and truly value our input.
The «shop» itself is actually a humble seating area that sits at the back of a shop right next to a pawn shop named Easy Money Pawn Brokers. There are just two seats in the facility, and there have been (very few, I should note) times when the twenty minute wait time and volume of names on the sign-​in sheet absolutely horrified me. But that’s how it is when you’re dealing with an in demand, fabulous business. It is both to be expected and an indicator of how in demand these ladies are.
The prices here are ridiculous… In the best way imaginable! As an individual used to paying a minimum of $ 12 for a brow wax, I practically fell over when I saw that $ 6 eyebrow threading description on the salon menu list. Unbelievable! But that doesn’t include the hefty tip you better give these women for the hard work and excellent effort they put forth. Just remember: every time you’re a cheap jerk and don’t tip, the universe shaves a few years off your grandparents lives. So have fun with that if you want, but I’m going to keep on tipping those I love and making sure my darlings live to be 100.

Ok just left this place. I decided to get my whole face threaded. It was only $ 25! Like wtf! I originally came here to get eyelash extensions they called and said I could come today but the girl was SF it was a bummer but that’s ok. I ended up coming back the next day for eyelash extensions. The girl that does them told me to come at 9 (a hour before they opened) so she could fit me in. Normally eyelash extensions are at least $ 125 max $ 300. I paid $ 55 with the help coupon. Awesome in my opinion and I look great!

I mean… Where else can you get your eyebrows threaded for $ 6 in 2015?! These ladies are great! They are very nice and attentive. Service is fast too! This place is in the cuts, but easy to find. This place is right by my job, so it is super convenient for me! I will keep coming back! #eyebrowsonfleek

Affordable, fast, friendly, and well-​done! My first threading experience!
Swasti and her sister Camila (spelling?) are two sisters from Nepal. They run a petite 2-​chair «brow bar» in the heart of Fruitvale. I got wind of Eyebrow Queen through Groupon, bought a 3 session deelio. Brows are $ 6; upper lip, $ 5.
Location & Parking: I found metered parking on 35^th Avenue, just kitty-​corner to the shop. I put in about $ 1.25 in coins for 40 minutes. The brow bar itself is kinda hard to find. I had to walk up and down a bit before I found the correct address. It’s on the corner of International and 35^th Ave. There is no building sign marking the shop so look for the giant red awning with EASY MONEY PAWN BROKERS in yellow and white on it. Eyebrow Queen is in a tiny, tiny strip mall to the immediate right of the pawn brokers if you are facing the front of the pawn shop. You will see a small tented wooden sign for Eyebrow Queen on the side walk. Go in the little mall, pass the ladies’ accessories and EQ will be in the back on the right. The brow artists will be there to greet you!
Threading: Camila worked her magic with a bunch of white strings hanging out of her mouth. The string gets spun around your facial hairs like a fine lawn mower! It’s super fast and doesn’t make that nasty ripping sound like waxing does! It does hurt an eensy bit but I just exhaled each time she threaded. I think I prefer it now to waxing!
Service: These ladies were efficient and hospitable. I liked how my stylist sterilized her hands with degermer before she worked on me. There was NO WAIT when I arrived and I did not need an appointment.
Overall, a positive, affordable way to support small woman-​run business! They also do henna tattoos in the shop, starting at $ 10 and up. I asked if they would come to do henna for a private party, and they said YES! So, if you are looking for a henna artist for a shower or other party, try here!

For $ 6 eyebrow threading, this is a steal. It’s located in downtown Fruitvale disctrict in a building with different units but there’s only a gate separating them; definitely not a «high end» place but she did my eyebrows perfect and painless. Will definitely be back.

This place is most definitely my new favorite threading place in the East Bay. Amazing brow threading for an unbeatable price — $ 6!

Awesome little place. I thought I would have a hard time finding her location but I had no problem at all. Just look for the address number and walk to the back. You’ll spot her with no problem.
I was her first customer of the day so no waiting for me. Honestly I was worried trying someone new but my old place wasnt shaping my brows the way I wanted so I had to move on.
My brows came out great. Better than I’ve ever had them. Only one downfall was that she didn’t ask my how I wanted them. im pretty shy so i didnt say anything lol They were just a bit thinner than I wanted it but still loved them.
Overall I say try it out. I will probably being heading back for more services in the future. Plus you really can’t beat the prices!

Who knew tucked away inside this. mall/​store hole in the wall off one of the busiest streets in Oakland would be the most amazing threading place a girl could find? I can’t take all the credit for it of course my girl Jessica B who discovered this hidden gem. It really is a gem.
It all started with a Groupon and it was a killer sweet deal. But even without a Groupon, a regular eyebrow tread is only 6.99 per visit. Still cheaper than any other places that I’ve been to. Don’t be thrown off by the location or how it’s in the very back end of this wack Mexican store, I think it gives it the authenticity and the Unilocal okay. I have no idea what her name is, she works alone, but have the hands of a god.
She’s so skilled in what she does and understands that CLEAN UP doesn’t me give me SINGLE STRAIGHT LINES running across my forehead. She takes her sweet time, but it’s actually not that long when you’re in the chair. Waiting seems to take forever on the other hand. Her fingers are so nimble and she knows exactly where to thread. It’s going to feel like she’s taking the ENTIRE brow off, but stroke of genius she’s really not and shaping it to her best abilities.
It’s clean and she’s very sanitary (in case you’re worried). I’m not sure making an appointment will help since she’s always busy. But if you were to do a walk in, make sure you do it super early! A lot of people come through and the wait gets somewhat hectic depending on the time.
She does a lot more than just eyebrows. Full face, sideburns, etc. Amazing girl she is and so so happy that I found her for my eyebrow needs! Whoo

Found this place on groupon. I highly recommend. Be prepared to wait though but it is definitely worth the wait. You can call ahead, but I’m not quite sure if they take appointments or not. The lady who does eyebrows does them very thorough and fast. Even without a groupon the prices are really reasonable!
BEWARE– Do not park in the parking lot behind the building even though it says parking for customers of 3451 international only. YOU WILL GET TOWED because of the SHADY OWNERS OF THE PAWN SHOP NEXT DOOR! I learned the hard way. Supposedly the lot is for «units a&b» (eyebrows in unit c) even though the sign doesn’t say that at all. Smh. I do not want this to happen to any of you!
I will not let the shady pawn shop ruin my eyebrows though. I will keep coming back but I’ll be more cautious of my parking.
