Stayed here on business and it was perfect for that. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable beds. No frills, just comfortable and clean.

let’s begin with check in. Arrived at the hotel on a Tuesday evening, just missing happy hour. Happy hour is 430 to 530. Very small window. Anyway, the excellent customer service made up for the short happy hour. Jose checked us in and helped us out of a jam with our room reservation. I am only giving four stars for the following reasons: key card did not work well and Howie is, let’s just say, different. he grills a perfect steak and salmon, however; he is a bit grumpy toward certain guest.
Dawn is wonderful! she is one of the bartenders and does wonders with the limited alcohol selections. She goes the extra mile to take care of her customers. Han and Enrique also work at the front desk. Han is so cute. She is new, but you can tell she will blossom into a go to employee.
View is great and the hotel has easy access to the Interstate, Oracle arena, the Coliseum, Jack London Square, and downtown Oakland. Rooms include: fridge, microwave, and tv.

If you live in the bay area and don’t want to deal with the in laws moving in your house during their vacation tell them all about this great hotel. Its a classy joint and a great value and it will save you from the hassle dealing with relatives invading your home and possibly overstaying their welcome. First thing when your relatives touchdown at SFO or OAK take them straight here without wasting a moment. Check them in. Graciously pay for their stay and upgrade them to the water view. Its so beautiful they wont want to leave. Settle them into their room then take them to the bar. Get them a bit hammered and then ditch them. Tell them you will see them tomorrow at about noon after they have breakfast. Be an hour late, pick them up at 1pm drive them to the city to see Lombard Street and the Six Painted Ladies at Alamo square and tell them they have to go back to the hotel for their fantastic dinner. You don’t have much more time to play tour guide anyway. When they get back from their vacation at least they cant tell the rest of the family you dumped them at a Hotel 6… rather you treated them to a classy hotel — a refuge on the bay — with a resort like setting. No shame in that.

Executive Inn & Suites is located next to Best Western Bayside in Oakland! We found ourselves back up in Oakland, and seeing as how BW was really expensive for some odd reason, found a great price at Executive Inn. Knowing the area was really beautiful, we decided to book a 2 night stay here: D
Now, if you have lived at BW, then you’ll know the difference between the two places. That one looks more renovated, while this one looks more older. :(
The room is a decent size. If you live on the third floor facing the 580, you don’t really hear too much of the freeway. That is, unless you’re a really light sleeper. You have a bathroom which consists of a shower and a toilet. The shower has no door. You soon realize why there’s no door though, because the shower pressure isn’t even close to being enough on ya. You have one sink, and then you get this weird closet. You can see through each side, so if you’re in the bedroom, you can «accidentally» walk through the closet to the bathroom if you’re short lol. There’s a TV, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a desk, so the room itself is good enough for your needs! Add that to free wifi and free parking, and you’ve got yourself a great place to stay in Oakland!
Now at check in you get a «slip» that has the date of when you’re staying and your hotel room. That is for your breakfast. Bring that down with you and put it on your table during breakfast. It’s kinda of a hassle, but if you leave it in your wallet, you should be able to remember it: P. Breakfast was good, consisting of eggs/​English toast, sausage, coffee, tea, juices, hard boiled egg, one waffle machine, bagels, muffins, and crossaints. Selection may vary, so be wary of that: P They had different things there the two days that we ate breakfast there. Their coffee/​tea is very similar to the one that they have at BW, well, probably because it’s the same! :D Professional looking espresso machineeee. Hehehehe there at all hours. At night, they serve dinner here (very informal) that you have to pay for, but it looekd delish! Steak, potatoes, mhmmm. They also have TVs and a bunch of chairs outside overlooking the bay.
They have a gym on the 2^nd floor, south side of the building, with elliptical, treadmill, and one of them arm thingies that I don’t know the name of. They have wipes but nooooo they don’t water bottles like BW :’(Me so sad. They also have business rooms here as well: P
If you do get a room that overlooks the bay, good for you! (: You’re lucky and you can look at a breathtaking view!
They also have a heated pool outside… looking over the bay: P
Staff was great, as they brought tissues up quickly. Just go down to the lobby or call for services and give them your room number and they should be up there quickly!
I think I’ve mentioned everything about the hotel: P OH! One more thing. This hotel has staircases. A lot of them. And the doors don’t say «stairs». heck, on the first floor, the doors are closed so you can’t tell. If you see the word «Exit», take them. More times than not, they are stairs (some lead outside). And for some strange reason, they didn’t label anything –_​_​_​_​-​. There were a couple times when I walked down one staircase, opened it up, and it was a door leading outside.
RULE IN THUMB FOR THE STAIRCASE + DOOR: if the door is right in front of you (straight), it goes to the hotel. Off to the side? leads outside. It takes about 20 seconds of trial and error to learn but if you’re just trying to figure out how to get to the hotel lobby it’s a pain.
The breakfast area was my favorite part. I drank a lot of iced water, coffee, and more coffee.
All in all, a good place to stay. try it out next time you come to Oakland! :D

Easy freeway access, and centrally located so it is easy to get to a variety of places. The facility was very clean, the staff nice, and the waterfront view room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The exercise room was very poor, and with limited equipment, however you can walk the waterfront. I would return.

My dad called to make a reservation for his June visit. I live in Alameda and have reffered others to this hotel in the past. Anyway, he told them that there would be 4 people staying in the room– with 2 of those people being a 16 year old and a 10 year old. They told him that the room would be too small and that he should stay next door at the Best Western. This was about 6 pm, Thursday, March 31^st for any managers from this hotel viewing this review. I know this is because of the kids because my husband who has been in one of the rooms said they were plenty big for 4. Also, why have 2 beds in the room if the room is so tiny? Because of this, you lost more than just his business, you lost at least 5 other guest visits a year as well. Good work!

The experience you have depends greatly on what side of the hotel you are on. There is one gorgeous side that faces the marina with larger/​nicer rooms and then there is the side that faces a loud freeway. I didn’t think it mattered so paid for the cheaper room. I tried to take a nap but the room was right next to a service entrance and the door kept slamming every few minutes, coupled with the roaring traffic noises, I couldn’t sleep at all. I talked to Jose at the front about paying the difference to move to a nicer room and he graciously moved me over without paying. It’s kind of crazy how different the room was. Aside from being larger and brighter, the layout was nicer. The standard «city view» (freeway view) room has a bar in the middle of the room for a closet. The «marina view» room has a real closet with doors.
There is dinner in the lounge every night. For $ 15 you get steak (chewy), potatoes (creamy, delicious), and a salad — which is a great deal. There is also a salmon option. Free breakfast is also a plus — I tried their waffle bar and it was great.
Overall — really nice staff, beautiful view on the marina side, and close to downtown Oakland. Just pay the difference and get the nicer room — it’s worth it!

Star 1 is for the spectacular view over the Bay. Star 2 is for a well rounded continental breakfast. But that’s about it…
We got put into this hotel by our delayed airline and I wouldn’t want to stay here again. I am picky with my hotel rooms because of smells and cleanliness issues.
1. The room had one of those odors you don’t want to sleep to or wake up to.
2. There were dirty tiles in the bathroom.
3. The bug bites around my left ankle? I would have rather slept in the airport.
If I’m going to stay in a hotel, it better be closest to the way my room is and this was not even close to it.

We LOVED it here! Stayed Valentines Day weekend. Enrique at the front desk was amazing! Made us feel special and welcomed walking in the door. Howie in the lounge makes a fantastic steak! We have found our new «Bay Area» favorite! Thank you Enrique!

My husband and I stayed here when he had a class on Coast Guard island. The location is fantastic. Literally a minute and a half from the hotel to the base. It also seems to be pretty centrally located to the rest of the East bay. Minutes to restaurant and shopping in Oakland and San Francisco.
We booked a city view but when we got here we asked to switch to a water view. They not only accommodated us, but also gave us a fantastic deal. The water view room has a small deck with 2 chairs. We have a view of the coast guard base.
The room/​hotel feels a little old, but very clean and comfortable. The cosmetic updates are great. Modern with a nautical theme. The rooms have a microwave and small fridge, which is great because there aren’t a lot of places around to get food. We able to warm up leftovers from a night out.
There isn’t a dedicated restaurant or bar on the hotel grounds, but they do serve a continental breakfast (free!) and have a pop up caterer that serves dinner. During dinner, the bar is also open for mixed drinks and wine.
What makes this a Unilocal 5 star review is the staff. Every single staff member we encountered had a smile and positive attitude. They were helpful in directing us to close grocery stores and dinner options. The interactions we had with everyone felt genuine. They all seem to really like their job and like they really cared about helping us with all our needs.
I would stay here again in a minute and would definitely recommend to anyone.

I really enjoyed my time here! I booked my stay using the Hotels Tonight app and for $ 107/​night I got to stay in a very nice, clean, and spacious suite which included a comfortable king size bed, flat screen tv, and two mini refrigerators. My room also had a balcony and a gorgeous view of the marina (additional $ 25/​night).
The staff here were very friendly and parking was easy. This hotel also offers free, continental breakfast.

3 o’clock in the morning, and stranded in the city, my party and I ended up here. Though we only stayed here for 8 hours tops, I was quite impressed with this little place.
I want to start by saying that the man that helped us in the middle of the night helped with us top tier professionalism (I wish I remembered his name!) and given our situation, even gave us a discount.
The hotel has a breathtaking waterfront view. They have seating arrangements out by the water for you to lounge in, that is a definite activity to take advantage of if the weather is good. The setting of the inn is right off the freeway, and close to downtown Oakland, and the Oracle. There is free parking if you stay here, and I have to say, their breakfast the morning after is superb. Seriously, it’s fantastic. They had sausages, eggs, french toast, waffle presses and mix, pastries, toast, muffins, orange juice, cereals, bagels and much more.
I highly recommend this place, and would return if i’m ever in the area.

While not a five star hotel it certainly makes up for the lack of extravagance. It has a pool and hottub which is very soothing. The rooms, while being a little small, are very comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. As for breakfast, it is free but that does not mean it’s not good. And the decorations are most pleasing. All in all, it is not fancy, but it is good

When they are not overpriced, this is our preferred hotel when we visit the Bay Area. We only stay in their King suite water view room and it is worth every penny. Top ten reasons I am suggesting this hotel.
1. Extremely spacious suites
2. Suites have their own entrance with plenty parking in front
3. Fantastic breakfast buffet
4. Spacious comfy lobby seating with outdoor patio seating as well
5. Big tv, fridge, microwave
6. Patio with water view
7. Right off the freeway
8. Down the street from Jack London Square
9. Very quiet area
10. Great customer service

Check in process was quick, the guy at the front desk was courteous and helpful.
I explained that I’m a light sleeper and ask to face the marina and get the highest floor .
He offered an upgrade to a mini suite for $ 50 which I agreed to .
The room was great, specious and clean .
I had a balcony with great view of the marina and San Francisco.
The water pressure wasn’t good and for a big guy like me, it’s important to have good water pressure .
The hotel is right next to the freeway which an advantage but also a disadvantage if you get a room facing that way .
Parking is free and there’s plenty of it .
They have a mini convenient section with frozen food, snacks and soft drinks .
I did ting it helpful and used it.
Altogether a decent and clean 4 star hotel.

The Executive Inn and Suites was a perfect, reasonably priced hotel for our one night in Oakland. The hotel is right on the water, providing a serene backdrop through the day and a gorgeous view of the sunset in the evening. This is not an upscale hotel, but it is solid. The entire hotel is very clean (though definitely showing its age here and there), and our room (on the 3^rd floor) was unbelievably quiet — yes, even if your room is facing the highway, and yes, even on a game weekend, it is quiet. Lots of outlets throughout the room (including around the night stands), great water pressure, surprisingly soft, fluffy towels, and a decent bed. The only serious negative is that there are no receptacles for recyclables (a personal pet peeve).
Free parking, free wi-​fi, free breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

I just left the Executive Inn Suites Oakland today and if it weren’t for the inconsistent service they would’ve easily received 5 stars!
Boyfriend and I checked in late Friday evening using a reservation from Hotels Tonight. The front desk was accommodating and we walked in to a beautifully decorated and spacious 2^nd floor room. Because it was dark and we were both tired, we didn’t event notice we had a balcony. We were too caught up on the ever so soft sheets and beautiful bathroom. We woke up the next morning to a beautiful patio facing the water! It was so beautiful that we were saddened to leave that morning.
We spent the day apartment hunting on the island and decided to book this location for the night again using Hotels Tonight. We walk into the lobby and were greeted by Jose. We checked in and I was raving to Jose about the beautiful room we had that morning. I begged to get the same room but Jose would not budge. He said we would have to pay $ 30 to get the same room. We refused the upgrade and went on our way to our 2^nd room. This room was on the east side of the building on the first floor. We opened the door and noticed it was a lot wider. We checked the bathroom and were heartbroken to see we were given a disabled room. Come on Jose! The shower was short and you needed to use the provided stool to wash yourself. Not the business! We called right away to get a new room. They gave us a room still on the first floor but the opposite side of the building. The room was better but not as lovely as our first room. The next morning I called to ask for a late check out. The front desk said they couldn’t accommodate me because a big group is coming and that they were fully booked. The only way I can stay till 2pm was to be charged for another night. Wait dude, didn’t you just say you were fully booked? I asked to leave at 12 since my room door said checkout was at 12 but the front desk said I had to leave no later than 11. I explained the door stated 12 but he said they were actually in the process of changing those cards and may not have gotten to my room yet. So I left right at 11am.
We decided to stay there for the third consecutive night. Using Hotels Tonight. So they weren’t fully booked after all!!! The front desk agent Veronica was very nice and polite. She didn’t give us the room we had the first night but she did let us know about the upgrade. She gave us a proper room on the 3^rd floor which we enjoyed for the remainder of our stay. We had breakfast this morning and it was glorious! Such great selection from waffles to croissants, bagels to toast or English muffin. 4 different juices, 3 different coffees. Fruits and yogurt. The breakfast was probably my 2^nd favorite thing about this stay, the balcony and the view being #1.

The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The complimentary continental breakfast was tasty and always plentiful.
The hotel is located in a convenient area when driving, has free non-​secure parking.
We would stay here again.

This place is AMAZING!!!
I travel quite frequently and I will say that this is the most pleasing hotel experience I’ve ever had from the check in service (her name was NINA and she was awesome!!) to the room and location, the ambience. Everything.
checking in was pleasant, we told Nina we were coming in from a 10 hour drive and she was so friendly and even gave us the king suite room. It was BEAUTIFUL! Very spacious and the view of the lake was so beautiful. the breakfast was delicious, surprising for a «free continental» breakfast lol I will definitely be staying at this hotel again soon. Keep up the great work!

I’m going to have to give this place 5 stars FOR WHAT IT IS! I emphasize that because I was reading all the low star reviews this place got and the reviews were complaining about things you would normally get at a 5 star hotel. This place isn’t a five star hotel but it is a great hotel. What I LOVED about this place:
–Right off the water. Really great to walk along the water at night or during the day.
–Safe place. Need a key card just to get in the building.
–Rooms including the bathroom were extremely clean!
–Very roomy rooms
–Vending machines sold soda and water for only a $ 1.
–Near a Starbucks
–Free Parking
–Free shuttle to and from Jack London Square and it is based on your schedule. I used this service and I just called in the morning on when I wanted to go and then just called them when I was done for pick up and they were there in 10 mins! Really great service because parking cost at Jack London Square is outrageous!
–Free continental breakfast
–Check out is at 12:00pm
The only thing that was a bummer was that there was no room service.
