Jake Nochimow began drumming when he was three years old, started teaching while he was still in high school, and is currently an in-demand session drummer and music producer who works with local and international talent. He is a passionate musician who teaches fun and engaging drum lessons to people of all ages. He fosters creativity, confidence, and proper technique in a focused and low-pressure atmosphere. He works with students to develop personalized practice techniques to help them grow into well-rounded musicians. Established in 2009.
Jake Nochimow moved to Oakland, CA to work in the music industry and teach drum lessons in the bay area after graduating from Hampshire College in Massachusetts.

Business Owner
Jake focused on classical technique and ensemble playing throughout middle school and received the I.A.J.E. award for outstanding performance. In high school he played in the Massachusetts All State Concert Band ranking third best percussionist in the state of MA. He also played in the Tri-County Symphonic Orchestra and was a member of numerous bands. He received his BA in music performance and composition from Hampshire College and focused his studies on playing drums across many styles of music and incorporating elements of jazz and hip-hop drumming into creative improvisation. He was the two-time recipient of the Elliot Smith Music Instruction Scholarship award. After school he moved to Oakland and is currently a session drummer at FM Recorders, Bethel Church, and is involved in many exciting bands and projects based locally to the bay and beyond. He produces music under the name EAR MONSTER and is a founding member of the music production/artist development company Modern Future.
