SALTED CARAMEL SAUCE. This has been compared to 1) a religious experience, 2) crack cocaine. They are $ 10 for a ½ pint. Enjoy slathered on Gala apples, drizzled over vanilla ice cream, or spooned straight out of the jar.

ESPRESSO BITES. A cookie/​brownie hybrid, this fella packs dark chocolate & warm espresso in one, small bite. You can’t go wrong with that! Minimum order of one dozen.

Established in 2009.

Not much history to speak of, yet! We haven’t fully opened our doors to the public. You could say that we’re still in our beta version. Currently, we are selling a few limited items, to a few special people. Very good and tasty bars that were worth the price. However, the Ramona bar is not available from what I’ve seen. I was told the maker has moved to Washington. :/​
I also don’t see them available on her online shop. I hope to see these around again. If not, they were good!

Double Dutch Sweets offers a Snickers redone with all natural ingredients. been looking for this for awhile. Miette always seems to be out of them. available with either peanuts or almonds.

So, after reading about this woman’s inspirational story, I went down to Miette and bought a Ramona Bar to share with some friends. At first, I’ll admit, I was intrigued by the novelty of a homemade candy bar without all of the bad stuff. And, I’m always down to support a fellow Oaklander. But as we cut off slices, and savored them, I realized that this is something a little more profound. This is the case I’ve made for awhile: Food is the new activism. Whether it’s GMO’s or Anti– Monsanto, people are in the mood to take back food. What better way to do that than through our sweet tooth? Oh yeah, most importantly, it tastes awesome. I’m not used to a candy bar with an aftertaste, but the aftertaste here is the best part. It’s buttery and sinful. Please, if you decide to splurge on something, make it this. You won’t regret it.

Double Dutch Sweets is another in the current batch of bakery vendors that appeared at the UFM and now can be found at SF street food cart gatherings. DDS hopes to eventually open a café in a few years.
On the menu yesterday: chocolate espresso baby cakes and chocolate pecan chip bites for $ 1.50 each.

I forgot what they were called, but I had their espresso cookie? I pretty much ate all 10 that my roommate brought back from some food event. Though she shows up to some food events in the city, if you see her, try to buy those cookies before she sells out.

Holy smokes, were the pumpkin pie caramel bourbon bars that Double Dutch Sweets brought to the SF Food Wars event in December ever good! The right combination of caramel with bourbon plus fresh squash was quite the treat! The crust was flaky and lovingly crafted. What’s not to be totally in love with? Love all around.

Everything in DD’s arsenal is either a twist on a timeless treat (coconut cupcakes) or an instant classic (mocha cookies!). Bonus points for top-​shelf, seasonal ingredients and a constantly evolving menu. Plus, rumor has it that DD’s regulars get a little something extra thrown in. Me, I’m a fan of the dark chocolate peanut butter cups, but you won’t find those on the menu anytime soon…

Shiyuan’s baked goods are consistently delicious. I’ve sampled several items as she has been perfecting her recipes, and from the coconut cupcakes and banana bread to the chocolate chip-​cookies (or, she asks, would those be more satisfying as bars?), you really can’t go wrong.
