Coffee is quality here! Delicious! Donuts are super soft and yummy! Breakfast croissants are heaven! The line can go out the door some times around 5 — 7 am. I love it here

Went here this morning because I was craving a donut, so I ordered a donut, coffee and a breakfast croissant. As I was sitting there eating my food, the pregnant woman came from behind the counter and started wiping down the tables. Then she headed to the garbage can and started wiping down the floor, the top of the garbage and then started wiping down the coffee area all with this same towel!!! I was in flames!!! That is the nastiest most unsanitary thing a person can do! I’ll never eat here again!

I love their donut holes, but they are super sugary. They are 15 cents apiece and I think a dozen is $ 1.50. Their other donuts are good too, but bit too sweet for me though. I have had their Chinese fast food multiple times. I like their noodles. They taste different from regular ones but I like them. The fried rice is dry. Their soda tastes like they had water mixed with the soda. Their meats and vegetables are not bad. Their egg rolls are pretty good.

So I rarely write reviews but for an first time experience, this place adds to my all time«do not eat at list.» To make matters worst I’ve pasted by this establishment for several years, usually going to starbucks. On this day me and my Co-worker decided to eat their, ironically he was suggesting Boston Market. I chose this place ordered the lemon chicken, chow mien and broccoli beef. Very satisfying, a bit too much food for my taste. Anyway the experience I had later this evening was surreal. I got food poisoning and most of everything I ate was fresh. Not saying to not eat here but for me it will be my last time. I don’t think we should be poisoned when eating out. Maybe it’s me but any place that I get this type of reaction usually tells me that their food isn’t any good no matter how good it looks. Thinking about going back to be a vegetarian again after this experience. Definitely not eating MSG ridden food anymore.

$ 2 for large Colombian coffee. Great coffee here. Also have bagel breakfast sandwiches with turkey or ham,(eggs with cheese). $ 3.50 not bad for a breakfast meal. They stop breakfast around 10:30am-11:00am. They also sale Chinese food here but never tried it… I Just won’t eat Chinese food at a donut shop. Seems weird. But one day… I’ll try it but I prefer the coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I also tried the glaze donut here and it was freshly delicious.

I’ve been coming here for years. The donuts are always fresh. The bear claw is what I like most. Moist and delicious. I will refer a friend if they’re not already in the loop about this place. I give it three stars because I went back for the Chinese food and it not all that. They use speghetti noodles for their chow mein. The orange chicken was over cooked. I won’t be getting anymore of their Chinese food. The donuts and drinks is ALL I get buy from here.

I LOVE the doughnut holes here! I stop here almost every morning around 7 am for my soft, yummy and warm doughnut holes and a small coffee. I’m in good company with many other gardeners, of the Latino persuasion.. The ladies who work there are always the same and the more you go, the friendlier they get. Now they know exactly what I want and I’m in and out in a flash. They’re time efficient and inexpensive. At 10am, they also start to serve a buffet style Chinese food. Its fresh and delicious too! My kids really love to pick 3 different entrées with either rice or noodles. There’s enough food to last them all day! I’m only giving it 4 stars because I realize this is not food for a long, healthy life, but its yummy!

Good value for donuts and bubble tea. There are better places for bubble tea however. The Chinese food looks good as well, although I didn’t try it. Donuts are on par with Dunkin Donuts.

this place is like a panda express just family owned. accepts credit card. im impressed for a fast food asian place. got the typical fried rice or chow mein and then choose 1 to 3 entrees. prices arent too bad. a lil salty. but meh. good for a quick eat when you dont want mcdonalds. and hey you can eat a donut too. they got them both. some seating inside. have the typical orand chicken lemon chicken beef brocoli chicken mushroom soup. other entrees too. good to support the family businesses sometimes. id say better than panda express. ew that place ew. maybe i’ll try a donut sometime. lots of parking. next to boston market.

Best donuts ever you’ve got to get there pretty early or they run out of the best maple donuts you’ve ever had but my favorite place to stop in the morning when I’m craving something sweet

This marriage of savory Chinese food and sweet yummy donuts is genesis. I really like the sweet pastries verities they offer and also very surprised and delighted by the hearty Chinese food. Very responsible prices and the food is well made. I’ve been here several times for quick bites as well as take home meals with the family. I’m a fan and will continue to return for cheap fast meals. No complaints here.

They have donuts during the am and then transcend to Chinese food. I prefer getting my darn coffee from here instead of Starbucks. I recommend their bear claw. Prices are affordable and they do not display their $ 3.50 kids meal. The kids meal pretty much fills me up and comes with a small drink.

Well overdue for a review of Donut Star after 10+ visits. Let me tell you about the Chinese food first… yes it is super greasy but what else do ya expect for a «express» Chinese food joint? The key here is to get the Chinese food when its fresh. That being said, ideal times for Chinese are 10:30−11am and 3−4pm for me. Most memorable items I get are: dry fried pork ribs, salt & pepper wings, orange chicken(it is thickly battered FYI), spicy chicken and teriyaki chicken(taste very«shredded» if that means anything to you). The chow mein is great but the fried rice is bland(MUST be eaten with side items to enjoy it). NOW for the best part… the donuts. Walking into this place is a mini candy land for me. Favorable donuts are: original glaze(classic), sugar, chocolate, frost vanilla, frost vanilla cake, some with coconut sprinkle and maple bars. The freshness seems to be consistent throughout the morning and early afternoon from my experience. Believe me, when I first thought Chinese food AND donut shop in one I was skeptical. After trying it once, I told myself why didn’t I come here early on my life?! 4⁄5 for decent Chinese food & selection, 5 for donuts and 5 for price. This place gets 4.5÷5 from me overall.

For what this place is, it’s actually rather amazing! I’ve been going to different Chinese places in Oakland and Alameda looking for a few basic things– delicious egg rolls, noodly chow mien and veggie fried rice. The quality is not high end, but boy can the value/deliciousness not be beat! For about $ 6 you can get a ‘Combo B’ and get ‘half and half’ fried rice and chow mien(no meat in either) and two other items. I was soo happy when I realized that two egg rolls was one item. So basically, you can get enough food for two meals– chow mein, fried rice, egg rolls and veggie chop suey, add on a drink and a brownie or something for under $ 10! Love it.

I would normally say I am a fan and give 5 stars. I come here quite regularly several times a month. It’s pretty inexpensive and you get a lot of food. I’m a little dissatisfied that they switched to paper-cardboard like cartons. They don’t hold up for long from the steam heat/moisture/liquids from the hot food. I always order my food to go and have never had a problem except sometimes with the teriyaki sauce leaking out and into the carry out bag, at least the napkins soak up most of it. I live in Alameda and by the time I got home, the carton had lost its«sturdiness» and I had to put it on a plate. You couldn’t hold the container in your hand anymore because it was collapsing where it wasn’t being held up. The food was great as always. Just not happy with the new take out container«boxes».

I’m only talking about the donuts because that’s all that really matters here. Fresh every morning, soft on the inside and yet fried perfectly on the outside. Fragrant, sweet and everything you could ask for when you bite into a donut. They dont leave too much of that oily residue in your mouth after you eat them. I heard about this place from a friend and these donuts are the bomb!
