Super friendly and helpful staff!!! They make a storage facility in downtown Oakland so easy.

This place is so well organized, clean, secure, and convenient to get into and out of (which is surprising, since it’s in a busy part of downtown Oakland). Jason was on duty when I went there for the first time and provided a level of service and graciousness that you might expect at a nice hotel. He even went the extra mile when I called back after getting home because I’d lost a piece of my ID in the course of the afternoon, and he went and searched everywhere I’d been.

Have had a great experience all around! Would definitely rent a space from them again.

It is a very clean and a very well kept storage place. I love the managers who manage the place, they have become very good friends. They will work with you if one is having problems.
It is also a very safe place as well. And the rate is reasonable for the such a central location. Overall it is excellent place to store things and the location is great as well.

Clean spaces, well monitored, nice people who work there. Just moved in yesterday and they were so helpful. I found this place through reading reviews and all the good things are absolutely true.

Weirdly enough, Devon storage has some of the best customer service I’ve ever encountered. Jason is the man! talk about someone who goes above and beyond. He helped me out so much, and made sure I wasn’t being overcharged. I highly recommend this place.

LOVE the staff here! Shout out to Mishana and most recently Jason, super friendly, super nice, make the experience great. Location is central, its very secure and clean and they have a big garage that has hand carts and everything you need. They recently made changes to their policy concerning the opening rate for units, but when I complained they reached out.

I loved the convenience of using Devon Storage at 1205 Franklin. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I no longer have a unit there, but I would use them again in a heartbeat. It gave me such peace of mind knowing where all my stuff was and that it was safe, and I loved being able to just drive into the garage and load and unload stuff with the handcarts they provided. So easy.

I had a great experience talking to the folks at Devon and moving in about a month ago. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and found me a perfect storage unit pretty quickly. It’s half the cost of my old storage unit in SF too! The facility is well-​run, clean, well-​lit, modern, and has much better access hours than my old storage facility. The cherry on the top of the sundae is the 90s/​00s R&B they pipe through the speakers on the fourth floor. The soothing melodies of New Edition and K-​Ci & JoJo certainly take the bite out of the hassle of moving.

Called them up and tried to reserve a unit multiple times, but each time I called, the guy on the phone said the unit they were advertising was «leaky», and these were different units. The last time I called, he put me in hold and left me there until I had to hang up. Don’t advertise your leaky units and don’t forget about your customers on hold. Bad customer service.

I’ve used this facility for a number of years. Clean facility, solid security w/​24hr surveillance and a climate controlled environment. One of the highlights of this storage facility is the great customer service. The manager (Meshana) constantly delivers world class customer service throughout the entire life cycle of my tenancy. Always available when in need, approachable, an effective communicator and always willing to work with you. This place gives me peace of mind knowing my belongs are safe & secure. And the capable, competent onsite manager (Meshana) will (and has per my experience) do everything within power to accommodate needs, address concerns and bring resolve to potential problems. Over the years as a tenant, Devon Storage has definitely earned their five stars from me.

What a top notch experience from beginning to end! The management is super polished and professional, not to mention accommodating and gracious. The facilities are spotless and more than secure. They offer a drive-​in garage… and their hours are convenient. Why would you store anywhere else?

Devon Storage has been great! I visited at least half a dozen places prior and this was the best fit for my needs. After three months I’m feeling good about the decision.
1. Feels secure. It’s all indoors and doesn’t appear to be a storage place from the outside. I’ve gone a number of times and have never seen questionable people lurking about.
2. It’s climate controlled, which was deal maker for me due to some of the items I’ve been storing. They also provide carts.
3. The location worked well for me and although it’s downtown, parking is not a problem as they have their own indoor space. This is especially great as you can load and unload with minimal prying eyes. It’s close to BART so that’s another option.
4. Great customer service. Although she’s not the only one in the office I primarily interacted with Meshana. She’s super friendly, solutions oriented and welcoming.
It’s not expensive as some and more expensive than others but for what I’ve gotten in return, including peace of mind, I have already recommended this location to others.

This place is great. I have past experience with storage and Devon Storage in DT Oakland is the best experience I’ve had, hands down.
Meshana and Calvin are both warm and friendly and made me feel comfortable. No pressure to get me to store there.
The facility is immaculate. Parking is no big deal, a surprise to me considering the location. They have both handcarts and four-​wheel carts that make moving from vehicle to unit very efficient.
If I ever need to store things in the Bay Area again, I won’t even think about it, I’ll just come here again.

I recently moved from Florida to Oakland, California. My move was GREATLY helped by the manager Meshana Valerio. She is the hardest working girl I know! Wonderful personality and true to her word. I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the rates offered. There are hand-​trucks & flat carts to assist move your stuff to and from the storage «locker» There is secure parking to use and I felt really good about the overall experience. You won’t be disappointed!

The management seems solid and very safe. I’m very wary of something happening to my stuff within the storage, but you bring your own lock (or purchase a new lock at the store) and everything seems to be very well organized. The payment is at the beginning of the month so you get to choose your own deadline as well.

THIS PLACE IS A+MAZING~~~! I have been shopping around looking for the best rate possible to store my things and I fell upon this location right off the street. I walked in and was immediately greeted by «Kevin» the property manager with a great smile and professionalism.
I inquired in a couple units and he was very informative with the facility, availability and pricing. I knew immediately that I wanted my things stored here, all indoor units, safe, secure with 24-​surveillance, key code entry and my unit has its very own alarm! The office and location is very neat, clean an kept this way all the time I am in there.
Kevin explained everything in detail during the whole move-​in process and was very upbeat and a pleasure to talk to. Thank you Kevin for an awesome job and I love knowing my things are safe and secure with you! Keep up the good work!

Great customer service! Just moved to Oakland from Phoenix Arizona. Needed some last minute extra space. Devon was accommodating and provided an excellent customer experience! The units are clean and there is 24 hour surveillance. Definitely recommend the place!!!

The facility is beautifully spotless, there’s an indoor garage, security is excellent, prices are fantastic, but general manager Meshana is still the best part of this place. She’s above and beyond good at her job, and her tenants love her, for good reason. I feel completely secure leaving my belongings here, and I know if something did happen (which seems unlikely based on their zero-​theft track record), she would work with me to do everything possible to make amends.
The location couldn’t be better, just a couple of blocks from BART. Super easy to drop by and get something if you need to.

I must say the reviews were true and correct. Devon Self Storage is really awesome!!! The building is clean, secure and well maintained. The price is resonable and the rental process is straight forward and not shady. I visited several other Big name Storage facilities and I left feeling like I needed a bath. There was NO WAY I was going to leave my personal belongings there. They made me feel like I was under attack and looking to take advantage .
The manager at Devon storage is truly wonderful. She is down-​to-​earth, friendly and seems to really care about her customers. I especially, like that its not an OBVIOUS storage place. As one other Unilocaler mentioned, you can drive down Franklin and think its just another building.
I truly recommend this storage facility to anyone looking for a safe, clean and convenient self-​storage option.
