Took my 23 month old daughter here for her first dental check-​up. We were the first appointment of the day and were seen right away. The toys in the waiting area were a hit while I completed paperwork. Dr. Allen was amazing. My daughter did not cry once. The entire experience went so smoothly! I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Denise Allen.

Dr. Denise and her team are the best. My son had to have some serious dental work done and she was super fast and professional. She explained everything as it was happening and comforted me when I cried! Ha!

Tereible customer service. They never ever pick up their phone. What’s the point??? Good luck trying to change or cancel an appointment. No one answers or even returns the messages! The dentists ARE good, too bad everything around it is not worth it!

Dr. Denise Bass Allen is one of the worst pediatric dentist out there. Don’t let her kindness fool you. She is inpatient and can’t tolerate kids that cry.
My daughter came in today for a check up, she always have a problem with her teeth and so she never feel comfortable going in. After reading Unilocal,they highly recommended Denise so i thought I’d give her a try and after today’s experience, I wish I have never took her in. My daughter was left in the hands of her care and I step out to feed the meter (was not gone for long). When I came back. I heard my daughter crying, in pain, and was scared. This is the worst fear a mother can experience. I never see the look on my daughter’s face, she was in fear and was shaking up. My daughter told me the doctor poke her with a needle and it was hurting. She started to move and that’s when Denise yelled at her, hold her and press her mouth tightly. My daughter is traumatized now and she don’t trust any dentist. How can someone like Denise can do something to my innocent daughter. Even if my daughter was crying or moving, shouldn’t you had stop and calm her first and not «force» your way to hold her down. This is intolerable and bad care. You should never practice in pediatric dentistry if you are inpatient with children. I highly do not recommend your daughter to this horrible dentist. Her looks can be deceiving. She is not true to herself and to her clients. If i have to pay out of my pocket, this is not the service I want for my daughter. I don’t even want to give Denise is 1 star but I have no option for 0 rating.

I have to admit, I don’t have children. However, I do have a few friends that have taken their kids to Dr. Denise for years. I’ve had the opportunity to be in the office a few times and witness the Professionalism and caring from her and the team. You feel this as soon as you walk through the door. And seeing the fish tank puts a smile on your face too. My friends continue to take their kids to Dr. Denise, because their kids have positive and upbeat remarks. Dr. Denise and her team, go above and beyond.

I’ve known Denise and her family for years … and the care, attention and patience she brings to her business is a shinning example of her character and ethics.

Dr. Denise is wonderful with children. I would recommend her without any reservations. Her office is clean and her staff is friendly and great with all children.

My kids love Dr. Denise and the whole staff! We are always treated kindly and respectfully! The staff is gentle and make the kids feel relaxed and happy to be in the chair. Dr. Denise has such a calming nature about her, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for children’s dental care!

Visits to the dentist are scary with small children, but not at the office of Dr. Denise Bass Allen. Everyone here is focused on giving your child a positive experience. The front desk, the dental staff, the unique toys in the waiting room, When you walk in, you get to see the beautiful species of fish suspended in the air. (Dr. Bass’ name is like the fish. seabass, thus the theme of her office). While in the chair, your child will meet a variety of characters to downplay their anxiety. Dr. Bass Allen calms your child by introduces Mr. Rain (water squirting in the mouth), Mr. Cloud (air puffing on a tooth).
Then after the dental visit, a review of tooth brushing and flossing for both parent and child. Yes, I have felt ashamed that I have not been as diligent as I should have been in reminding my child to brush and floss. Anyway, the best part for the child is the goodie bag that contains toys, floss, toothbrush, floss holder and magnets to remind you of your next appointment.
My daughter is now 22 years old remains cavity free and we started with Dr. Bass Allen when she was 2 years old. Her greatest compliment to Dr. Bass Allen was her saying, «Mommy, I have never cried at Dr. Bass-Allen’s office». To me this is huge compliment!

Best pediatric dentist in the Bay Area! Great staff, pleasing and very efficient and professional office!

I am so impressed with how they got my kids to actually love being there. They are a very, very kid friendly place. When you walk in, the waiting room is full of really cool toys for kids, some of the things I’ve never seen before. The staff is incredibly friendly and you can tell that they like their jobs.
The dentist area has stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling — monkeys, parrots, seahorses with their babies — all the cute, cuddly, friendly stuff. They have this playhouse that my kids adored — I’ve never seen anything like this. And the adults sit on a giant tooth chair!
The dentist was incredibly calming and friendly with my kids and they really took to her. My son allowed a cleaning! They gave him cool sunglasses to wear and a hip toothbrush to pick out. They also give out token coins to put in their «gumball» type machines that give bouncy balls, jewellery, etc. My kids did not want to leave!
I have Unilocal to thank for helping me to find this place. They take our insurance, which many places do not. And also, when I spoke with the staff person, she went out of her way and called the insurance to make sure that the costs would be covered!

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Dr. Denise is a nice person. Anyone that lives in the Bay Area should take their kids here. I like coming here and seeing all the dentist here including Dr. Denise. I have had nothing but good experiences here.

I agree with other reviewers that say that the staff is great, but honestly, the wait on Saturdays REALLY SUCK. This is the second time that we’ve had to wait an hour to finally get into the chair. When I asked if this was usual, the staff said, yes, it’s usual for the wait to be long on Saturdays. I mean, really, do all these parents find it normal to be at the dentist’s office for 2 hours? If I arrive on time for an appt, I really hope it doesn’t take an hour to be seen. I had to leave my 4 year old with the staff so I could go feed the meter! Then I was told by the dentist to come on a weekday. If I had that luxury, I totally would. So sad I’m going to have to find another dentist for my child. He really liked this place, and he’s not had a problem crying when being seen.

These folks understand kids and understand how to run a good business. Warm people all the way around. Flexible with schedules. Love the coin/​toy machines on the way out.
As soon as my 4 year old left the office, she wanted to know when we can go back again! AND, that was her first visit. Not one drop of tear.

Dr Denise has been treating my children since they were 18months old. They are 16 and 20. Her office is organized and communicative. Her staff is friendly and welcoming. Denise is the best at what she does, she is patient and it seems like God made her to do just what she does… really! I highly recommend her. She has the ability to engage and relate to the kids in a special way. My children were never afraid to go to her office. The way it is decorated it is warm and inviting. Taking your children to see Dr Denise is a decision you will never regret.

We tried another dentist for my son’s first dental experience and I was not impressed. Even though they were a pediatric dentist, I felt that the dentist and staff were not very friendly or warm toward my son.
So I went in search of a new one. My awesome dentist, Dr. Fred Pockrass of Transcendentist, recommended Denise Bass. And I am SO glad he did.
The entire staff is made up of people who seem to truly enjoy the job and the kids. There is lively music playing, a nice waiting room with interesting toys and a laid back, friendly and sweet environment in the exam room. My little guy (almost 4 yrs old) got 3 little fillings and came away happy and even said Thank you to Denise and her staff. I highly recommend this wonderful business!
