History

Established in 1954.

Our practice has had two owners since 1954 and we have been consistently committed to offering excellent, comfortable and ethical oral health care since the beginning. Dr. Harold Nielsen grew up in Oakland and after serving in WWII built the office we still occupy on Park Boulevard in the Glenview district of Oakland. Dr Lewis joined Dr. Nielsen in the 80’s and they worked together until 1990. Now Dr. Lewis is the dentist/owner of the practice. He wants to carry on the tradition of excellence first created by Dr. Nielsen over 50 years ago.

Meet the Business Owner

Daniel L.

Business Owner

I spent all but a short part of my youth in Arizona and went to the University of Arizona in Tucson. I studied biology and had a strong interest in the healing professions. My family dentist invested time in me and I came to believe that I would enjoy a career in dentistry and that I had the necessary skills. I came to San Francisco to attend dental school at the University of the Pacific. I fell in love with the Bay Area and decided to do a General Practice Residency at Highland Hospital in Oakland. I was introduced to Dr. Nielsen by my mentors at Highland and became his associate after graduating from that program. We worked together for several years before his retirement and I became the owner of his business. In the years that have followed I have continued to enjoy the practice of dentistry and the people we serve. Our current team is made up of a committed group of professionals that I have had the pleasure to work with for over a decade. We love what we do!
