Description

Specialties

Looking to communicate better with the one you love? Feeling frustrated or disconnected because you can’t seem to get through to your partner? I help couples recognize the how their conversations go off track and learn how to get back to love. I teach them to become more open with each other and effectively communicate their needs. I help them strengthen their ability to create understanding, empathy, and trust for one another. Most importantly though, is that I show them how to create a deeper sense of trust, acceptance, and dependability with each other.

History

Established in 2005.

Oakland Couples Counseling was developed from Craig Toonder’s personal interest in understanding why couples who clearly love each other fail to create the trust and understanding necessary to create a fulfilling relationship. Craig’s pursuit in understanding what it takes to create a successful relationship has lead him to examine all aspects of relationship, from courtship to final moments of life. Craig’s interests allow him to work with couples on remembering what drew them together, understanding the dynamics that pull them apart, learning how manage conflict and heal the wounds of their past, and discovering how to create an atmosphere of love and mutuality in their relationship.
