I’m so glad I found this spot! It’s cute, clean, and affordable. Dominique definitely knows her stuff. I got a Brazilian and she helped me through it with some deep breathing and very friendly and hilarious conversation. I was in and out in 20 minutes!
Good to know: book appointments online, cash only for tips, and there’s metered street parking

Jasmine is the best they have here– she’s really nice, and even though I know the waxers talk to you to distract you from the pain I feel like she never over does it. She’s really the best and does a thorough job! They have a groupon too which is ho I found them.
unlike European Wax, they use wax strips and numbing spray which makes it all hurt way less.

I love this place, definitely one of may favorites in the area. I always make sure to book an appt. with Dominique. Not only is she hilarious, but she also puts you at ease the moment you walk through the door. I’m looking forward to going back soon, it’s always nice when they offer a groupon since it’s definitely a bit of a splurge.

I have been coming here for quite a while and I always have good experiences. Tonight I had the quickest and most painless wax of my life with Jasmine. Go see her, she’s awesome.

I am sooo happy I found Dominique at Cocoon Bare! I decided to get my first brazilian wax ever. I walked in, uncomfortable, anxious, and nervous. I knew it was going to hurt, but wasn’t sure how much. Plus, the idea of exposing everything to a complete stranger was nerve-​wracking!
Dominique looked so comfortable which made me feel comfortable. She was nice without giving me the «fake-​nice» vibes. She kept it real, and I appreciated that. Dominique takes pride in her work and likes to make sure everything is perfect.
In addition, the salon looks so classy and feminine! They even offer a glass of champagne as you wait!

I’ve been here a handful of times for a bikini wax. I thought the service was fine until I tried a different place and finally had a comparison. Although the staff is friendly, the place is clean and the space lovely, I really didn’t appreciate that after several of the services, I would find that the work wasn’t thorough. Not the kind of outcome I should have gotten for the cost.

Glad I did this yesterday. Went in for a lash tint. I was offered (and accepted!) a glass of champagne. :) and/​or water.
The space is super cute and everyone was nice & profesh. Dominique did a great job on my lash tint. It was my first time in, I’ll be back in future. Would trust them with brows too.
The only thing is I might’ve asked for is a little more saline rinse bc it’s really hard to not get a slight residue of product in the eyes upon opening & that stings a bit. But Dom was very careful, she DID rinse thoroughly, so it’s almost unavoidable. If you have extra sensitive eyes you might want to BYO eye drops or saline rinse so you can continue to rinse beyond the appt. I had these in my car and it helped quite a bit and to relieve any redness.
Very pleasant girly treat for a day off. Highly recommend. As a swimmer/​water lover it will be great to not have to bother with applying/​removing/​reapplying mascara. It gives my eyes more definition.
If you want to lighten up or shorten your makeup routine, a lash tint might be your jam. ;) I can’t take a good selfie to save my life right now but… at least my lashes look good– I have on only sunscreen/​tinted moisture and that’s it but with lashes tinted I feel done enough/​presentable.
The lashes last until they fall out and new ones grow in. So it varies a bit depending on that– and also how much you speed along the process by how much you mess with your eyes with rubbing /​makeup removing /​whatnot.
I noticed how Dom gave me a conservative estimate on how long they’d last for me based on the info I gave her about being a frequent bather/​face washer. It makes for a happier customer to set realistic expectations and err on the conservative side, so I appreciated that. I will be quite pleased if they last longer than two weeks and will try to go easy on them.
Would love to come back for the combo and do both lash and brow tint next time. Thank you Cocoon bare!

Jasmin did my Brazilian wax today. She was a great conversationalist, fast and she really knew what she was doing. I have had many Brazilian wax jobs in my life and she really was detail oriented. I felt very comfortable thanks to her. I will absolutely go back to see her again.

I have so many good things to say about this place. Brittani and the staffs took care of me when I walked in. I got there 20mins early for my appt. and they were very friendly and welcoming. Brittani checked in with me couple of times to see if I needed anything. She was a bit behind, but it was all worth it. It was extremely hot that day and I went in for my very first airbrush tanning and I understood why she was behind, bc it took awhile to dry off. I would definitely come back for another airbrush tanning!!! Thank you Britanni for making me look hot for Vegas!

Just as everyone else here has detailed, the experience at Cocoon Bare was as painless as subjecting yourself to pain for beauty can possibly be. Dominique is warm and kind, and she took exceptional care of me, and the other staff in the building were just as welcoming. My first wax was two years ago and I was so traumatized I haven’t tried again until this morning, and I can say for sure I’ll become a regular customer! Thanks!

I have been to Cacoon Bare 5 times over the past half year and all have been pleasant experiences. Alicya, Shahn and Claire are all great at what they do.
What brought me to write this review is how pleasant my last two appointments with Claire have been. She is professional, extremely friendly, thorough and her waxes are nearly painless. She has great attention to detail and makes sure the end result is perfect. She is also just all around a very sweet person and I enjoy talking to her.
I really love Cacoon Bare because the quality of service is consistently great. The numbing spray and champagne are also a huge plus. Best of all they offer great packages. I’m so happy to have this place within walking distance from home.

I do my own body waxing at home but the Brazilian is not an angle that is very realistic. I will admit I am a serial Groupon & Living Social taste tester. I’m really not trying to pay full price so there aren’t any real loyalites to any place in particular. I was SO impressed by this entire experience that I just had to Unilocal it. I liked the vibe & they gave me Champagne as soon as I sat down. My wax was fast, efficient & still done with care. The ladies were super cool. I called my friend as soon as I left to tell her to come here for her next wax. My ending words to her were– «I liked it so much I would even pay full price» …and if you knew me-that’s saying a lot!

I was introduced to this place a few years back and I used to see Merrit.
She was the best so I was totally bummed when she moved away then I also moved so i started frequenting another shop buttttt I had been getting a lot of ingrowns at this other place so I decided that I would go back to Cocoon regardless of no Merrit or the drive.
My appointment was with Dominique and shes deft my girl from now on.
She made me feel as comfortable as you can be and was so «real» about the small talk we had. That and the wax as weird as this sounds was… great!!!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Cocoon Bare. From scheduling until I walked out the door, I am 10 000% satisfied and so excited to have found a place in the bay area that works for me.
I lived in San Diego for 7 years and in that time, got all my Brazilians done at the same salon. For the first few years I had the same couple estheticians every time, so I got used to a sense of friendship with my waxer. Moving to Santa Barbara meant I had to try new places, which freaked me out. I tried two and felt so-​so about them, so I didn’t have high hopes for the bay (I just moved about 10 days ago) but was due for a wax).
I got the 2 wax Groupon from Cocoon Bare and was immediately ecstatic I could book online. I have a horrible fear of talking on the phone so being able to book online is a huge plus for me.
I had Dominique as my esthetician and I will be making sure to book with her for all future waxes. She was welcoming and friendly and we spent the whole time gabbing like besties and laughing. That plus the numbing spray (which a salon has never offered free of charge along with the standard pre-​wax baby wipes) made for the easiest, most painless wax of my life. I have a reasonable pain tolerance (lots of tattoos) but there is something to be said for a virtually painless wax. The job was also done so cleanly! I usually have trouble with ingrowns or needing a lot of tweezing at the end, but little was necessary and I’m so happy with the results.
Checking out was also a breeze even with my Groupon. Tips can only be made in cash or check so keep that in mind (TIP YOUR ESTHETICIAN).
Cocoon Bare and especially Dominique have a customer for life with me, I hope I never have to leave the bay area!

I went here yesterday after buying a Groupon. Let’s just say I’m I did it was great as far ripping hair out could be. I was seen by Claire who was very thorough. I will definitely come back. I enjoyed the space it was chic. I loved that they have a little lingerie retail area. The only draw back was no AC. But it wasn’t to uncomfortable. Staff was great. Will be back.

Called on Saturday at 10 or so. No response. Called a second time, got voicemail. Ok, they’re busy. I leave a message excited to hear back. Wanted to schedule for a wax and a spray tan.
Long story short, it’s Wednesday and I still haven’t heard a Coo from Cocoon. I like warm and friendly day spas where they take their business seriously. If they can’t return a client message in 4 days, I can only imagine how sloppy their work is.
On the bright side of things it probably saved me a disastrous experience.

Shahn was fabulous, put me at ease and took good care of me for my first Brazilian. She was patient, positive, and sympathetic to the pain.
Would definitely recommend. Also as a trans person, she was great with pronouns.

This was my first experience getting a bikini wax and it was actually – beyond the painful parts – enjoyable! Dominique is awesome. Beyond awesome. First of all, the lip waxing she did was painless and extremely well done and I will never go to a nail salon to get it done ever again. The bikini wax, while not pain-​free (I mean, hot wax in that region ain’t gonna be painless), was also very well done. She was thorough and walked me through the whole thing and made sure to create a very relaxed and comfortable environment.
They offer you champagne and water when you come in and there’s cute lingerie and jewelry to look at while you wait. The waiting area is a little small, but it’s still a really comfortable place and everyone who works there does a really great job of greeting people and making you feel at ease right when you walk in. So, so lovely.
I will definitely be returning!

Had a Brazilian done here a few years ago, but never got around to writing a review! I recently drove by on College Ave and reminded myself to give them credit where it is due; thus my super-​delayed Unilocal review.
I had outstanding service here from start to finish. Booking an appointment was a breeze, and getting here wasn’t hard at all. There is a lot of parking available especially during the weekday.
Nobody «enjoys» getting a Brazilian. They HURT. However, beauty is pain. And the feeling you get after getting a Brazilian is unbeatable. Plus, you feel like you’ve conquered the world once you walk out of there.
My Brazilian was quick, and definitely the least painful wax I have ever gotten (by far). They use really nice quality skin-​care lines, so you most likely wont have to worry about breaking out or getting rashes from the hot wax. The girl who did my wax offered to «go to the back» and clean everything up there as well. Okay, so it doesn’t sound glamorous, but I know everybody reading this knows what I am talking about. Once everything is over and done with, you will have NO regrets. The people here know what they are doing.
Also, the prices are extremely reasonable and much better than most places you will find in the surrounding area. Give them a try!
