Good location that it is right next to the airport and when returning rental cars is the good place to fill up. But the problem I have with they place is there is always random people roaming around they begging for money pretending to help for money and just causing problems… Tip: just say no, even thought they are very persistent and try to ignore them… They should really do something about trying to get rid of people like this because it makes it feel like a unsafe location especially at night…

Tradition, landmark, and bad expectations come to mind when you need to get gas at this Chevron. Just as the sea lions are the attraction at Pier 39 in San Francisco, the low life panhandlers are at this Chevron. They are always there and you can expect to be scared and hit up when you take your wallet out to pay. The Chevron Management of this location is just as complicit in supplying you with a «real life give me some money or else situation. I was running late and almost out of gas coming to OAK, I got to my flight in time but dreaded the fact that I would need gas to get home on the way back. Sure enough when I got my car and pulled into the Chevron the zombies emerge. In plain sight of the clerk sitting behind 4» bullet proof glass a limo driver and myself were sitting ducks for the panhandlers.

Getting gas is a necessity
But sometimes it’s a pain you see
when there’s ALWAYS someone asking you for money
it’s stops becoming funny
Though the location is easily accessible
The experience is predictable
You get gas,
For $ you get asked
and sometimes I’ve seen it be intimidating
But most of the time it’s just plain irritating
So this place is a good spot, gets lots of traffic, has a Wendy’s integrated into it, and is next to a Starbucks. Yet, the problem is that most of the time there’s usually someone there asking for money and one time I’ve seen it being borderline harassment. I’ve seen a guard there a few times, but I think they’ve stopped. The easiest thing to do would be to go there, don’t take money, and if someone asks, just say you have no cash.

Sketchy! Lots of people milling about looking for a handout. The cost isn’t much more than anywhere else, so you don’t save much money going elsewhere, you just don’t get hit up for cash or a meal or a 40 or crack.

Always get panhandled here. Makes it very uncomfortable to fill up, even though it’s so convenient to where I work. Don’t ever go here with a newly washed car because some bum will inevitably try to wash your already clean windows and smear them up and drip soap all over your car. And for some reason there are always 2 or 3 women who got stranded and just need a little gas money. I will try to never stop here again since the last time I went the beggars were almost violently aggressive.

By Day mild mannered cookie cutter convenient store/​gas station, By Night Shit hole for the disparate and the down and out of Oakland to come harass people into coughing up cash. The story is always the same, «I was on my way to (visit my dying Grandmother), and ran out of gas…»
Just be honest, you need cash for a 40. If you have the gas and it is past dark keep on drivin’

I’ve came here a few times only because my gas light was on and I desperately needed to fill my gas. This gas station is higher in price than most gas stations around them. But what can you do when you need to pump gas right?
Don’t be fooled by the look of the gas station and their surrounding buildings, thinking this is a legit place to pump your gas. Once you pull in, there’s sketchy guy that comes out of no where goes up to your car and behinds you, then asks you for money. It’s kinda scary when you’re by yourself especially a woman and going during the night. I would suggest you women use the «buddy system» when coming here to pump gas.

This Chevron is a perfect place to come and fill up on your rental before bringing it back to the airport rental center!
This gas station is located in a nicer, much cleaner area of Oakland (helps that it’s close to the airport), so you should feel pretty safe filling your vehicle up.
I came here this morning around 6am to fill up my SUV before returning it, and I definitely didn’t sense any kind of danger… haha.
I am subtracting one star because not all of their pumps were in operation. Be sure to keep your eyes on the lookout! Some dude honked at me this morning, wondering why I didn’t pull up into the next set of pumps. Then he drove by and realized why… sucka!

This place is great. Friendly employees and a very clean store. They also sell Redline for all you sleepy people. The only bad thing is getting in and out. The lot is too small for compact cars trying to park, get to a pump, and getting back out on Hegenberger is a challenge as sleep deprived people are trying to get to Starbucks. I say forget the coffee and get the Redline. This parking lot reminds me of trying to navigate down Powell and Geary during Thanksgiving. All you Towncars and Monster trucks need to go somewhere else!

Handy Chevron with a convenience store and a Wendy’s built in. Its Below 880 near the Airport away from the Hood so its a little safer. Handy place to get a cheap meal or gas before the Airport or on the way home from the Airport.
