Camp Gan Israel Berkeley

My kids’ exact words, «I give this camp five stars!» Camp Gan Israel, Berkeley is not just a summer camp experience but a spiritual, healthy extended family experience. The program staff and counselors were so responsive to the parents’ needs and schedules. They were parent– and child-​centered so they never, for one moment, made you feel like you were on THEIR terms and that they were doing you a favor. The counselors were so caring and responsible. They taught with love and by example and allowed the kids of all ages to have an equal voice. This is very important for my kids because they are not naturally extroverted. In fact, my daughter has always been very cautious and refused to speak in public but after the summer camp, she opened up. They helped mirrored a healthy self-​image that she needed. My son had a hard time coming home everyday! He made lifelong friends and still Skype the counselors today. As a nervous parent, I can say with confidence, it was the best decision I have ever made.
