Look no further, Cherlyn was absolutely amazing to work with. My wife and I were so lucky to connect with such a talented photographer. Cherlyn captured our style to a t in our engagement photos. She knew exactly where in Oakland (Jack London Square) would have every shot we wanted. We used one of the shots as our save the date. Cherlyn was very communicative, personable, and professional. She answered all our questions and made us feel at ease. She was able to connect with our day of coordinator and work out logistics without stressing us out one bit. I’d heard so many stories of crazy wedding venders and Cherlyn was awesome. One thing I really noticed was how calm she was while shooting our family shots. We had a ton of candids and she knew exactly how to direct my family and capture their good sides! We worked with her second shooter Max as well. The were both great and we felt assured that the day and night would be photographed brilliantly!
After the wedding, Cherlyn was in communication about when our photos would be ready to view! When we accessed our online gallery, we were both thrilled. I was most happy with the family photos and dance floor shots. Our wedding party getting ready candids and time right before the ceremony photos still strike emotion in me.
My one regret is that we didn’t have Cherlyn stay for the entire reception (even the after party!). We didn’t plan for a grand exit but one naturally happened and was only captured on grainy cellphone pictures. Wish we had Cherlyn there at the end of the night.
All in all, we really hit the jackpot with Cherlyn. With wedding expenses adding up, it’s nice knowing that we had someone who gave us 110% and was super reliable and genuinely cared about us!

Where do I even start?!
From the moment my partner and I met Cherlyn, we were super comfortable and at ease. We could see from her previous work that she was talented at capturing special moments and, to be honest, we both just liked her! When it came to our budget, Cherlyn was willing to work within our price range and very accommodating. She was prompt and responsive from the get-​go, always quick to respond to my emails and questions. My partner is not a big fan of taking photos but he ended up really enjoying the process from engagement photos to all the wedding day events.
We just received our digital photos and even though I knew they would be amazing (saw a preview a month ago), I am incredibly overwhelmed by how thorough, thoughtful, artistic, and beautiful all the pictures are. Cherlyn and Max were able to tastefully capture the love, the emotions, the many many family members, the details (my little succulents and signs and desserts), the dancing and the greenery. Our parents, families, and friends LOVE the photos and cant stop talking about them.

I got married this July in Oakland CA with my goofy wonderful husband Scott. Cheryln was amazing. She went above and beyond. Not only did she take impressive photos but she was able to capture myself and my husbands personality in the photos. We are also a bi cultural couple. I’m first generation Mexican. I was born in the US but my parents and many of my relatives were born in Mexico. My husbands parents are White. Well, to be more specific working class White from Central Valley CA, AKA country folk. lol We wanted to acknowledge both our cultures. She was able to capture that and be present in the moment to our request. Most importantly to me we both felt really comfortable with her. I was afraid of awkwardness but she is both professional and laid back. I would most definitely recommend her. :)

Cherlyn and her second shooter Max did such a wonderful job photographing our wedding in June. Both made us feel at ease in front of the camera and most of the time we did not even notice they photographing us! I was drawn to Cherlyn’s work because she really captures candid moments well, and her images are crisp and vibrant (I really did not want any trendy-​looking, grainy shots). She was easy to work with on the day of as well as the preparation beforehand; she has a great online questionnaire that goes over the timeline of the day and which groups to photograph. She was also great at offering recommendations for other vendors; we found our catering through her! A few days after the wedding Cherlyn sent us quite a few preview shots that she edited, which we appreciated and have been showing family and friends. We love the photos so far and we can’t wait to see the rest! Thanks Cherlyn for your hard work and being a calming presence on our day!

Thank you Cherlyn for capturing every moment and detail of our wedding! I can’t stop looking at my pictures! All the smiles, candid moments and beautiful images captured with Cherlyn’s artistic eye. From the details of my dress to images of our amazing food, to the wedding party and family, the dance floor, she made sure to she was present and capturing my wedding. I especially loved the sunset pictures in the vineyards; such romantic, soft images.
Cherlyn was extremely professional; meeting with me to ensure we were in synch with my expectations. She was also extremely helpful when it came to ordering a large print of our engagement session picture and choosing the right type of photo pens and providing advice on good quality, do-​it-​yourself image ordering sites. The day of the wedding, Cherlyn arrived on time and stayed thru the entire night, which was a long, long day! I absolutely loved that I had two photographers so that one captured the bride getting ready and the other the groom getting ready.
Cherlyn is not only great with her camera, she is also a warm, welcoming individual. By the end of the night my friends and family were referring to Cherlyn as a friend. She made everyone feel at ease and comfortable, which was a challenge in itself given the large family and the fact that the majority were Spanish speaking only. She truly made my day extra special, paying attention to my requests and ensuring my images were captured. Thank you very much for being a part of my special day! I will definitely be working with Cherlyn in the future for life’s next special events.

Cherlyn and her assistant, Max were our photographers for our March 2015 wedding in Newcastle, CA. I met Cherlyn at a wedding show in Sacramento. I looked through her display albums and I really liked her documentary style and easy-​going personality. She was very easy to work with and helped us create a customized package for our needs.
During our engagement session, my fiancé and I got a chance to meet and develop rapport with Cherlyn and Max before the big day. Our engagement photos turned out beautifully and we used them for our Christmas cards and wedding invites and programs back-​sides.
The day of our wedding, Cherlyn and Max did a wonderful job. Cherlyn captured amazing shots of me getting into my bridal attire and she never forced any instruction for how to stand or to slowly to do something/​hold something/​zip something. The shots were very authentic to the actual moments. My bridesmaid even commented to me about how much they liked her. Cherlyn kept the time very brief for formal photos in between the ceremony and reception in accordance with what she and I had discussed. We were able to join our guests for the reception right on schedule. She and Max took photos happy moments our guests shared with each other and emotions they had during the celebration. Also there were photos of details I had never even thought to ask her to capture on film. It was a delightful surprise to see these recorded on film when I went through my gallery.
When I saw my wedding preview gallery (provided to me the day after my wedding — well ahead of the scheduled date in the contract) I was blown away by how beautiful the photos were. The joy, beauty, emotions and colors of that day were perfectly captured. Cherlyn really has a gift at taking beautiful photos that are authentic to the moment.
I have been to a lot of beautiful weddings, each unique in its own way. Of all of the beautiful weddings I have been to and the resulting photos I have seen, my photos are definitely the best at showing exactly how beautiful the day was. And I know I’m not bias just because it’s my own wedding… a few of my wedding guests have told me the same thing. I really got an amazing deal for such beautiful photos.

Cherlyn was my photographer for my wedding on 11−22−14. My husband and I couldn’t have been happier with everything. Both Cherlyn and our 2^nd photographer did a fabulous job capturing our day. The next day after the wedding, we received a wedding preview of some of our beautiful pictures. Cherlyn was recommended to us by a coworker of mine. I would highly recommend.
